I had been with Dr. Dehlinger for probably 12 years. I needed an implant and he wanted to do it. I had the bad tooth removed by an oral surgeon who could have placed the implant. Dr. Dehlinger offered a better price for the crown if I let him do the implant. Long story short, the implant failed after about 3 years and had to be redone at great expense. it failed due to operator error. Hence, I found an expert dentist to do the new crown after my oral surgeon placed the implant. It is solid as a rock. read more

I needed Invisalign for gum recession and wanted it for cosmetic reasons. Due to my being on Prolia for osteoporosis, Dr. Baumgartener worked with my endocrinologist and another specialist to ensure my treatment plan would be safe and effective before beginning. Noah replaced a crown for me years ago. During the experience, he started working on the tooth before the area was completely numb. My body went into convulsions due to the pain. Since I was committed at that point, I let him finish the job. The color of the crown was completely wrong. He told me, "Nobody will see it." To which I replied, "I will see it." Obviously, I never went back to him, but every time I see a picture of my big smile with that off-color tooth, I am reminded of that awful experience. read more

Well, after a twenty year dental journey, I finally smile widely and proudly in all photos thanks to Dr. D! As someone with several congenital dental defects, I have been to more dentists, orthodontists, and periodontists that I can count. Most recently, my two Maryland bridges were failing, both in the front of my my mouth. I opted to go to Dr. Dehlinger for a consult and he reviewed ALL of my options - new bridges, implants, etc. He performed X-rays and after several consultations, TOGETHER we concluded that new bridges were the best option. I felt so well cared for during the entire process! He did not pressure any decisions and was extremely patient through my 1 billion questions. My husband went to see this dentist for implants. My husband was in perfect health until he saw Dr. Dehlinger who I believe is not an oral surgeon. After surgery was done my husband had blood filling up his mouth for days and when calling Dr. Dehlinger he told him to put tea bags on the wound to stop the bleeding. I believe, this was just the beginning of all the problems going to this particular dentist caused. My husband is allergic to metals as he stated to Dr. Dehlinger who did not care. After my husband had implants put in by Dr. Dehlinger, which went very wrong, he started to have all kinds of symptoms ranging from headache, dizziness, multiple ER visits, infections etc. For a whole year after seeing Dr. Dehlinger our life was just doctors and hospitals and no normal family life. Dr. Dehlinger was very un professional and rude. Did not try to help or not even give us a refund all appology after my husband had have implants taken out because of all the problems. I would not recommend anyone going to this dentist as I believe he has no idea what he is doing and does not care about his patients. Dehlinger caused my husband, and therefor our whole family a lot of pain and stress due to his incompetence putting in implants, (see my review). I have had many dentists over time and Dr. Dehlinger is by far the best! I had been going to another dentist in Marin who I thought was so-so. Then the other dentist totally messed up a crown. Fortunately, Dr. Dehlinger immediately found the mistake with the crown and was able to do a new one in one day - not the three and a half weeks the other dentist had taken. Dr. Dehlinger on his own worked directly with my orthodontist who had scanned my teeth for Invisilign to make sure that his new crown got scanned instead of the old one. I have a very small mouth and it is difficult for dentists to access the way back teeth but Dr. Dehlinger was so gentle for all the time removing the old crown and replacing it with a new one. He has a very calming effect on patients and for the first time I did not have to take a Valium before the work was done. He is also a perfectionist which I appreciate. I also had my teeth cleaned and that was also a very positive experience. His entire office is delightful, professional and very clean. COVID procedures followed completely. Not sure an excellent review means anything because I'm not even sure if he's still taking new patients -- he's that popular -- but wow what a great dentist with a well-run office. The staff is professional, friendly, and even though I'm sure there's lots going on in the background, they are the proverbial ducks swimming on the top of the water and you can't see how fast their legs are moving. I'm a teacher (read: dental insurance but not a lot of money) who has always had major problems with my teeth--they are missing, misshapen, came in in the wrong places, you name it. Braces, surgery, veneers when I was younger and a host of other problems, most of them deemed "cosmetic" by insurance companies (I'm not sure how molars are "cosmetic," but apparently chewing your food on both sides is really asking a lot!) This year, it was finally time to replace a lot of the hardware and get going on the implants I will need to even out my chompers and give me a beautiful smile. To say the least, this was stressful. I was referred to Dr. Dehlinger after several visits with other dentists, and I cannot recommend him more highly. He and his lovely staff provided an outlined treatment plan for my whole mouth with itemized descriptions and costs, we prioritized my treatment, and they are helping me make the most of my insurance as we address each issue. My teeth look great, and I am no longer in dread of my dental visits. The office is cheery, Dr. Dehlinger is so personable and kind, and his assistants also do a phenomenal job. I went to Dr. Dehlinger after reading these rave reviews right here on Yelp. Being a nervous wreck about dentists for many years, and having had my share of crowns, cracked teeth, always a cavity as a kid, you can imagine I pored over each review carefully, looking for my kin. ;) Well...I'm SO glad I went. Simply walking into that office put me at ease. It's bright, beautiful and welcoming. The staff are all very pleasant and nice. Dr. Dehlinger has a calming, kind and genuine way about him, was very gentle during the exam. He talked me through my xrays and pointed out a tooth that will likely need work in the next 6 months to a year but he didn't seem to promote unnecessary stuff that some other dentists seem to do. When I went back for my cleaning, I met Peg. She had me laughing the entire time. Even while scraping some of the 'barnacles' as she called them, off my teeth! Being the nervous ninny that I am, I hadn't had a cleaning in a while. Several years. Kind of embarrassing but she, too, put me at ease and disarmed me with her great humor. She also gave me some great brushing advice that I'm now using. Love this place. Going back in six months, like a normal person. I don't plan to avoid the dentist ever again. read more

I was referred to Dr Dehlinger by two separate people, and he's wonderful, as are his two hygienists. I generally don't have many dental issues, but I did have two very old fillings that needed to be replaced. As the other reviewers have indicated, Dr Dehlinger was very focused on my level of comfort during the procedure. I felt virtually no pain with either the shots, or the replacement of the fillings. I just sat there listening to my iPod and, before I knew it, we were done. I'm equally impressed with Peg, Dr Dehlinger's hygienist. She had a wonderful, non-guilt-ridden way of encouraging me to kick my dental hygiene up a notch. She's a bit chatty, which at times is tough since it's hard to chat with one of those suction tubes in your mouth. But I appreciated the distraction as she got my gums in shape after 3 years of not having had a cleaning. The front office team is also very courteous, and there was absolutely no wait for any of my appointments. I hopeful that doesn't change as Dr. Dehlinger's practice grows (which I'm sure it will given all these great reviews!). Exceptional. This last week I needed a dentist urgently and they were able to fit me in without any attitude or hassle, in fact they were super concerned and friendly. The doctor was soft spoken and has the best bedside manner of any dentist I've ever seen. I had to have an old filling replaced and he did it that day. Gene is not my real name, but I am a real patient of Noah's for over 10 years. I say that because Noah will probably read this and think, "Who the heck is Gene?" That said, I have lived in Marin all my life, I have had five dentists, and Noah is far and away the best. In addition to the excellent cleanings by his staff, I have had several old cracked metal fillings replaced with composite. I have also had two or three crowns done. Everything has always been fast, painless, and perfect. I do not tolerate pain well at all, and everything Noah does is painless. I have been recommending friends and family to him for years, including my 80YO mom who has probably had her entire mouth rebuilt due to growing up in a candy business. Even the view of the redwoods from his chairs is great. I was sent to Dr Noah by my dentist because I have a bite that required me to wear a lower appliance on my teeth to bring my jaw forward and open my bite. over the years I had lost all but 5 of my upper teeth so I needed a denture. In order for him to do a denture, he had to take away the splint I had for over 15 years. I was so scared! He is a magician! The upper denture was made to move my lower jaw forward! could not believe it!! Now any major work will be done by him. All dentist were scared to work on me and he had no fear. The staff is great also. If you have a complicated bite or not he is the best. I called my dentist to Thank him for sending me and my perio had to come see the work he did. I put it off for a long time until I couldn't wait any longer... I needed an emergency crown. He was recommended by a friend and let's just say he restored my faith in dentistry. He is professional, calm, cool and collected... He and his staff do a fantastic job. I've now had him do 2 crowns and both were quick and drama free. He is also the most accessible dentist I've come across in the event of emergency. My son broke his tooth this weekend and he responded immediately on a Sunday despite the fact that he would be a new patient... My son will be seeing him tomorrow for the repair. He helped me with a problem by being exactly the kind of medical partner you want (but rarely find) - he listened to my ideas, we created a plan, he did amazing work, he happily made adjustments, and he was always friendly and communicated quickly. I feel great after the work he did. The team is also super friendly, professional, and genuine. And the view - you can't beat the environment of his office. "Too bad I cannot select zero stars" Never trust this dentist for dental implants. More than 6 years ago Dr. Dehlinger attempted a 12 implant full mouth restoration on me. He had never done 12-implnt full mouth restoration before and he did not disclosed this to me. In fact when I asked him if he had done this type of work before, he said that he did many times. The full mouth restoration was catastrophic and left me with Trigeminal Neuralgia that I still suffer to this day. Trigeminal Neuralgia is an irritation of the 5th cranial nerve (called trigeminal) that can cause the worse pain a human can handle. I had all the implants removed, by other dentists, looking for the "smoking gun" that caused my injury. I did find some comfort in the mandible area after removing the implants but the pain in the maxilla continues to this day. I like to comment on the overall treatment provided to me by this dentist, which makes clear his luck of experience in dental implant full mouth restoration process. It usually takes three visits to the dentist's office to complete this type of procedure as he stated to me during consultation. It took Dr. Dehlinger over 60 visits to his office to finally realize that he was unable to finish the job and abandoned me abruptly with an email over the weekend and while I was in acute pain. Please stay away from Dr. Dehlinger when it comes to dental implants. read more

Have been his patient for a few years now and he could change your mind about going to the dentist. He is gifted, nice, concerned and very good at what he does. His staff is uniformly and consistently nice. Everything is cutting edge technology. There are things in the office that look like they come from Holodeck III of the USS Enterprise on Star Trek II, but they work...and are all explained before use. Little details are all covered...like great care to office hygiene, good explanations, an on site lab, and dedication to their craft. Also, real attention to pain both at the office and later. I started coming here becasue my parents both go to Dr. Dehlinger. Now, while you may not actually be able to detect it from their smiles, they both have super crappy teeth, with my dad being the worse of the two. They go in every three months or so, get all cleaned out and fixed up and sent on their way. Sooooo, if they can deal with my 'rents, they'll think I'm a cakewalk. :) I even have my husband going there, too. Superfriendly without being overbearing, and easy parking either on the side or out front. I should start to say that I have a pretty bad case of dental phobia caused by some bad experiences early in my life. I assumed that some degree of pain always has to be part of dental procedures. Because of my fear I would only see a dentist when I was already in major pain. That was until a friend of mine told me he knew a dentist that never caused any pain whatsoever, even with major procedures. So I saw his dentist and I was amazed to see for myself that there are ways dental treatments can be done without being painful or even uncomfortable. From this point on I realized that my anxiety problem can be completely solved by just finding a dentist that cares about how patients feel and also knows techniques to avoid pain and discomfort. Since then I moved to the Bay Area and finding another dentist that cares and understands my anxiety was again a very long and difficult process. There was a lot of try and error involved and I am extremely happy that I eventually found Dr. Dehlinger. Out of about 20 dentists I tried throughout my life I only met two that were truly great, and Dr. Dehlinger is one of them. Among many other things we already did several crowns and two implants. Today I can go there without even being nervous anymore. No matter what happens, I already know it is not going to hurt in any way. You may be surprised, but not even the injection for anesthesia has to be uncomfortable when it is done right. It can take a few minutes longer to perform some procedures without pain and because of that most other dentists will just tell you that it is unavoidable and to put up with it. Unfortunately most dentists just want to get things done as fast as possible because time is money. But Dr. Dehlinger is a dentist that will always go the extra mile to make sure there is no discomfort. And this is what I really appreciate and the reason why I will always go there, although it is now a 2 hour drive for me. Other things I like are: Never had to wait. No time pressure. There is no line of people waiting during the appointment. The most friendly and professional office staff. Latest high tech equipment, like in house CT scans and manufacturing of crowns while you wait. All details of a procedure are discussed until I am 100% satisfied. (This is also important to alleviate my fear.) Followup phone calls to make sure you are feeling ok. After major procedures I can even call his cell phone number in case there is an emergency. (But I never had to.) Easy parking. If you are anxious about going to a dentist I can only encourage you to give Dr. Dehlinger a chance. I think you will be surprised how pleasant a dentist visit can be. Don't put up with dentists that do not care. You will see, it doesn't have to be that way. read more

Dr. Dehlinger was referred to me by an endodontist that does complicated root canals for patients of general dentists throughout Marin and Sonoma counties. I figured he would know a good dentist for me to go to after having years of disappointing services/results. Dr. D is the best of any dentist I've ever had by far. He has done 5 crowns (4 of them had been done and redone by former prosthodontists) and they are absolutely beautiful. He is so gentle when numbing an area of the mouth I don't feel the needle at all. His staff is really terrific too. I can't say enough good things about the office and the work they do.
