Service was excellent during our visit. The staff was courteous, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive, which always makes a meal more enjoyable. The brunch menu has a lot of tempting options, and everything we ordered delivered. I had the soufflé with sourdough toast and a side of bacon, and it was delicious. The soufflé was light and flavorful, and the sourdough was a great accompaniment. We also tried the Nutella-stuffed French toast and the breakfast potatoes. The French toast was a great indulgent brunch dish, and the potatoes were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Overall, it was a really enjoyable brunch experience. If you're in the Essex area and looking for a comfortable spot with a great brunch menu, Noah's 63 is definitely worth checking out. Parking was a little tricky, as the lot next the pizza place next door was full despite there only being one other diner in the restaurant. Stopped here after a day of boating while visiting family in Connecticut. The menu was nice, lots of unique selection. Everyone had something good to eat and highly enjoyed it! First about out to Amanda and Izzy,they went above and beyond in service. My party of 5 showed up and we got a table by the service desk, Izzy wiped off the table and gave us cloth napkins to sit in. It started to rain and Izzy and Amanda moved us inside on the couch and made sure all night we were taken care. That isn't taught the was 2 phenomenal ladies gong above and beyond. I don't know why this place only has 3.5 stars. I loved everything about this place. The only thing that's unfortunate is they don't take reservations. We put our name in and went to the bar. Friendly staff and they make great drinks. I had a Dirty Martini with an interesting twist on it....an olive oil wash? It had a rosemary flavored olive oil in it. Also amazing blue cheese stuffed olives. Sometimes you get those and they taste old. Bartender said they hand stuff them fresh. We didn't have to wait long for our table and we were able to sit outside on the deck which was beautiful. The grassy area down below looks so cute as well, but I was glad we got one of the few tables up top on the deck. Thankfully didn't get attacked by bees which is common this time of year. We split the Caesar salad which was delicious and I got the Cold Soba Noodle Bowl with added Grilled Shrimp. Amazing. Note....it is spicy!! I love spice though. Boyfriend got the Roasted Red Pepper Salmon and it came with the most amazing risotto I've ever had. Very cheesy and delicious. Presentation lacking on that dish (pictured) but the taste made up for it. He very much enjoyed his meal. Very nice time and would definitely come back. read more

We stopped on a Friday night and had a lovely dinner outdoors. We were lucky and got seated within minutes. Our hostess was very nice. We had fish tacos and a chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich was a really good size. A lot of bit dry but tasty overall. They were all out of the Heineken zero but I had a very good mocktail ( Lavander spritz I believe) . Sat at the bar this past Saturday. The service was really disappointing. Sat for 10-15 minutes. No one acknowledged us. In fact, both bartenders looked right through us. No smile. No, 'l"ll be right with you." I had to literally wave the bartender's down to order a drink, order dinner and get the check. I realize as you get older you become invisible to some but we go to Noah's fairly consistently and tip well. We never have this experience at the Seal or the Gris. Food was great but the cold shoulder treatment has happened twice now with the same staff. Last time we walked out with four people. Not sure we'll be running back. That said, food is good, Hayden and Giovanni are fantastic. read more

What a find!! We are already planning to come back with friends. Driving through Essex with plans to have a late lunch at the Griswold Inn but with the Music Festival going on there was no parking in sight. Luckily we drove to the end of the road and saw the Noah's Restaurant sign and with them having their own parking lot we thought let's give it a try. So glad we did! Best lobster roll I have eaten. Fresh lobster, roll was perfectly grilled and the side of butter to put on top was awesome. Started off with a wonderful Caesar Salad... one of best one's I have had. Can't wait to go back and get the exact same things. My wife started off with a Brussel sprouts appetizer which she enjoyed and had a wonderful Summer Salad with Avocado. Service by Ashley was outstanding and host young ladies were extremely welcoming and they all took care of clearing plates and glasses off the table as they saw them. went there for buck a shuck oysters during happy hour. Only available at the bar. Found the bar tenders to be less than friendly. No effort to make eye contact with patrons. Actually gave the impression that they did not want to be there. Had to call out to get them to take a food or drink order. Very slow service. And the oysters were the tiniest I had ever eaten. I will start with, normally the staff is rude with a false sense of how they should treat their customers. Then I met Michael the bartender, truly a nice and fun guy. One bartender couldn't be bothered with a thank you or a your welxome just a "yup" guy. The shrimp cocktail was great and the chowder free of excessive corn starch! The seasonal salad with berries was refreshing and the dry rub chicken wings were a table favorite. we sat down on a quiet winter Thursday night and after waiting ten minutes had to call the server over. Music was loud (bar was mostly empty), ordered drinks and food. I ordered the fish tacos which come with a slaw. what arrived was heavily breaded greasy cod, more breading than fish and maybe a teaspoon of slaw between the two tacos. Dish came with sweet potato fries which I asked to be made crispy. they arrived soggy and cold, asked for new fries emphasizing crispy and received a plate of greasy soggy fries again. The server explained that they cannot make crispy sweet potatoes and I should have gotten regular fries. hmmmm perhaps that should have been explained when I placed my original order and asked if they are crispy. Total fail. Left more food on my plate than I actually ate. Server could not care less whether I liked my meal. Noah manager did compensate me for the cost of my tacos which I appreciate. read more

Most horrible experience with take out. Our bill was $115. I don't mind spending that when it's good. The steak tasted like it was smothered in garlic powder, the halibut, my favorite fish, had so much salt I literally could not swallow one bite. Place is beautiful and modern. It's right against the water so the view is beautiful. The dishes do change so don't fall too in love with a certain dish. Everything is made to order so be patient. Great location in Essex by the water. They have a very nice bar and outdoor dining tables. With a view of the marina and the CT. River. They even have tables on the lawn and you could bring your dog. Small food menu with something for every palet. An extensive cocktail list and They're all so beautiful! I wished they had stuffies and steamed lobster. Maybe for the summer. I had the viet Cajun boil. With a Thai lemongrass broth. So delicious I ate all of the bread to sop up the sauce! My husband had the Tex bowel with chicken. It had very fresh ingredients! The food is really good . The service at the bar isn't so good ... unless you have Hayden or Gianni ... both hustle and scan the bar seeing what guests need . Twice I've been there when it wasn't Hayden or Gianni and we sat at the bar 15 minutes until we finally had to wave down a bartender to order drinks ( if it were busy I'd understand but it wasn't ) then we waited another 10 minutes and again had to wave down a bartender to place a food order ... they don't seem to know how to interact with guests ... they barely look around to see if anyone needs anything but certainly find time to chat with their friends who are at the bar ( I guess they don't need the tips ) . For me I wanted to go elsewhere as this was the second time of bad service ... my friend wanted to stay as he enjoys the food so much . I stayed but if it's like that again I won't bother coming back ... there are too many good places with better service . Someone needs to train the bar staff ... that being said the wait staff are great so a table might be the best option . read more

Initially I was going to try a different place for lunch but I stopped a gentleman for directions and he told me the place I was looking for was closed for the season but he recommended Noah's. Now this place was difficult to find but I'm glad I didn't give up with trying to find them. I called the restaurant for helpful hints on where they were located. They are behind the Essex Boat works. Once you see the Essex Boat works you'll make the right onto the gravel and in the back is Noah's. The only downside I have is I wish there was signage to find the place better. Other than that my experience was fantastic. The food was great came out the perfect temperature hot and great flavors. The drinks were tasty and the waitress Nicole was very helpful in her drink suggestions. Nicole was very attentive and had great customer service with checking in. Just wanted to give a shout out to our time at Noah's. We had a wedding brunch there. The venue was great. We had the event room upstairs, we could be outside and inside at same time. The food was delicious. We brought a speaker with our own music. The team at Noah's was able to accommodate our request for decorating the room. We had a very short time that we could decorate prior to the event, and the team at Noah's stepped in to help us. By the time the bridal party came everything was ready to go and be decorated. Noah's was able to accommodate our one person that was gluten free. Briana and team, thank you for making the pre-wedding brunch a great time for all. The place has so much potential. It's unfortunate really that its run so poorly. The staff makes you wait 15-20 minutes for them to seat you even though they only have one table inside. While the food tastes great, the service ruins the experience. No water, no utensils, dirty table. As a customer you shouldn't have to ask for these things. The waitress was nowhere to be seen to refill our drinks for thirty minutes. Again the place has so much potential with its wonderful location. It's a shame that management doesn't invest in a good team that wants to work and build the place up. Food was great although my partner waited for his food while I received mine. His came ten minutes later( servers should know to serve food at the same time even if we have to wait longer). read more

We headed down to the beautiful town of Essex. To check out this beautiful restaurant by the dock & shore. This newly renovated restaurant was a beauty. Let me get to the food & tell you how good those mussels were. We ordered the mussels with, white beans with sausage and tomatoes. Crispy sourdough bread to get ever bit of that sauce that the mussels sat in. Then some juicy seared scallops on top of a white bean salad with cheese. So succulent with ever bite. To the delicious lobster Cobb salad with bacon,avocado & more. Only thing I wish is the salad had a bit more dressing & seasoning. It was a tad bland. CT River Views & Great Food!! Food and drinks are great but the ambiance is even better at Noah's!! Food: the calamari was so fresh! Not rubbery at all, cooked to perfection!! The deviled eggs with the bacon and jalapeño is such a great combination, and had such a great texture!! I got the Brussels Caesar salad with grilled chicken and it was super flavorful.. grilled chicken was so moist! Ambiance: 10/10! Love the vibes love the design in and outside. Such a fun spot!! Went to Noah's for the first time with a group and we sat on the patio next to the Connecticut River. I got the espresso martini and my sister got the starkey. Both delicious. I also got the summer berry burrata salad which was great. I have a gluten allergy, and they were very accommodating! They also had a bunch of things labeled gluten free on the menu - always a plus!! We have been to Noah's several times and really enjoyed it. We returned today for lunch and it was not a good experience. We sat at the bar inside. The bartender was busy with the service bar, which is understandable. She was also busy talking to a patron. We had to ask for silverware and plates with our apps. Several other servers were milling around, one sitting down, looking at their phones, showing pictures. At one point the patron braided a server's hair while she was waiting for the drink for her table. It felt like we were interrupting the servers party. The manager wandered in and out.
