After spending the morning on winter tubing down Silver Mountain, our group of 7 was ready for a bite and a brew. We arrived around 1230PM, and the restaurant was relatively dead - which can be a plus for those seeking a food spot at the base of the mountain, rather than the top. Our server welcomed us and led us to a larger table which fit our party perfectly, directly near the windows to witness the snow falling. He allowed us to search the menu before taking our orders. We opted for rounds of water and brews for the adults and sprite/juice for the kiddos. I was impressed by the massive NA beer list, which was lengthy and filled with variety. I chose the Deschutes hazy IPA which was tasted perfect! My sister and cousin opted for seasonal beers and seem happy with their choices. Seeking something warm for the belly, I opted for a burger - loaded with locally made huckleberry jam, bacon and cheese - which was average at best. The burger was overcooked, leaving the meat dry and lacking flavor. The fries on the other hand, were delicious and double fried. YUM! The kids were mildly impressed with their meals, while my sister, cousin and her husband seemed to enjoy their burgers. We had to remind our server about the need for water, sides of ranch and ketchup (since nothing was on the table) and split our checks in the end with no issue. Pricing was slightly elevated - but expected in a resort type atmosphere - but for the quality, I left like EH. I didn't take the remaining half of my burger with me but left with a full belly. Seemed more like cafeteria food or a military chow hall, especially for the price. It is priced like a great restaurant, and it is not. Like i said. Not our server's fault. Would not return, and honestly am highly considering filing a lawsuit for the way I was treated here. I was in town scoping out potential places to call home, and applying for jobs in the area. I stumbled upon Silver Mountain and Noah's bar, and was immediately in love. It was stunning, and I thought it would be a really refreshing place to maybe start over in a new town. The bartender and manager were friendly upon my first visit to Noah's, and after I explained my situation to the manager she generously offered to snag me an application since she had openings at the bar. After experiencing such great service in a such a fantastic atmosphere, I was really looking forward to the opportunity to interview and maybe work at this establishment. I waited a couple of days and never got a response. Come to find out, the manager threw my application away because it got a couple spots of grease on it and called me "unprofessional". Is that something a manager should do, considering they are short staffed and need applicants who are willing to work a tough job? I am a registered nurse--I've seen countless bouts of "unprofessionalism" in the workplace, and the way I was treated was unprofessional beyond belief. I watched the workers at that bar busting their butts just to get treated exactly how I was treated by the same manager. Not ok. I won't tolerate it for myself, or for others. After hearing my application was thrown away, I went to go print off my professional resume to hand to the manager. I went to hand it off to her and she completely ignored me. I felt like I didn't exist. I also had my service dog with me (who is both a medical and emotional support dog for seizures and panic attacks), and she told me I had to leave the restaurant because I had an animal with me. That is illegal, and definitely grounds to sue. I've worked a bunch of different management positions in nursing, and have held several leadership positions both in the school and community. I've had great managers and really crappy ones, and witnessing first hand the way the manager at Noah's treated both myself and her workers, she honesty should not be managing that bar, or seriously needs to take some classes on management. I'm not surprised Noah's can't keep staff--it's a toxic work environment and will continue to have problems unless something is changed. I do want to give a shout out to one of the bartenders that served me: Brandon. He was kind, he listened, and I watched as he worked his butt off to give excellent service to the people at the bar. I can tell he really cares about his bar, and deserves so much better. read more

We went here while at the resort with our kids. We were nervous to try it, because the reviews are so bad but after the day we had we just wanted something to eat that was close - so we decided to roll the dice. We must have gone on a good day, because we got sat right away, at a table outside by a fire (what we wanted) so the kids could play the games in the courtyard, the server was nice and quick enough. When we left she even made me extra strong cocktails to go. We traveled there and I realized I forgot my bag, with all my stuff, at home. I think she felt bad for me lol. The food was good. It wasn't amazing, but it filled the hole in our bellies and tasted good. Nothing to really complain about. As this is our second year in a row coming to Noah's and eating before attending their annual Brew fest, we were extremely disappointed. The 1st year was not too bad of a visit, but this year it was just terrible. You would think with something like an annual Brew fest going on in August, management would properly staff this restaurant. I believe this is the main reason we had such a terrible experience and I would highly suggest you properly staff next year in anticipation of a popular Brew Fest on your mountain. We arrived, as usual, right as they open at 11am. Granted, we had a party of 12. We picked the area we wanted to sit in right next to the bar and pulled our own tables together to save anyone from having to do it for us. It looked like there was one waitress and one bar tender. The place was empty except for two people sitting at the bar. We explained we needed separate checks ahead of time to our waitress, Tiffany. Most of us were in pairs with our significant others. We ordered our first round of drinks, which was pretty quick to get out to us. As I got my drink set down, we immediately ordered the artichoke dip with chips, but let her know we weren't all ready to order. After about 10-15 minutes, everyone was ready to order. We made sure we pointed out who went on which orders as not to confuse the checks-I have been a waitress and separate checks can get tricky. I also apologized to Tiffany that we had to do that, to which she was completely polite about, smiling. As the place started to get busy with more big groups and people, I still only saw Tiffany running around and busting her butt to get to everyone. Where the hell was her backup??? Management really set her up for failure! The whole time, Tiffany was doing her best, running around like crazy. So none of this is on her. In fact, we left a larger tip to try and make up for what we saw her going through. We waited 45 minutes for our Appetizer to come out! It was cold and nearly coagulated so bad, I could not mix the cheeses with the artichokes. I ate it anyways, I didn't want to have it returned and wait another 45 minutes. Turns out I didn't have to wait long, as our actual 12 top meals started coming out 5 minutes after our appetizer. I ordered the Wisconsin burger. The fries were cold. The gravy was cold, the burger was burnt to a crisp! I took one bite out of the burger, chewed a few times and reluctantly swallowed it. After that, I stopped eating anything. My husband's burger was this huge burger double stacked and held together with a large tooth picks. It was luke warm. All the patties were burnt as well, but covered with cheese to help hide that. Luckily, my sister in law couldn't eat half of her burger, which was decently cooked and slightly warm. The other people at the table had flat bread pizza's, which apparently came out ok. One pizza was the wrong kind, so she went without food for another 10-15 minutes while we attempted to eat ours. Another had the french dip, and the meat was disgustingly cold-but she ate it by dipping it excessively in the au jus sauce. Most everyone ate what they could, because we were going to a Brew fest and we we're trying to put food in our stomachs. There was a young woman that had started going around to tables, trying to help Tiffany out. I believe she may have been a manager. When the waitress got back to me, I gave her my plate and asked she take my burger off the check, as I did not eat anything on that plate. I let her know it was cold and the patty was overly burnt. She did everything she could to ask if I wanted to order anything else, even offered another type of burger the kitchen has accidentally made-to which I declined. I also let the manager know that my dish was overcooked and many of the dishes were cold upon arrival. To which they replied 'oh, that sucks. I'm sorry.' That was it. Then she walked away. Granted, she looked like she might be new to the position, so I'm trying to give her the benefit of a doubt. Unfortunately, we will not be back. For $106 dollars for three of us to have terrible burgers and two rounds of beers, is NOT my idea of a great meal for such an absorbent price! It is a lovely facility, attached to the ski lodge. I think if I came back to try a full meal it would be in the shoulder season, when it would not be so busy. This restaurant is located in the center of beautiful downtown Kellogg Idaho. In a whim and on a first official date we decided to walk over from the Fairfield. It was not busy and we were seated right away. The atmosphere was very cozy and warm. Streams of twinkling Christmas lights dangled from every corner and across the entire interior. The lighting was delightfully simple yet muted. Nice. We began with avocado fries and wasabi lemon dressing. Decadent ! Sodas and lemon waters. Then came the main courses. Scrumptious ! A big applewood bacon smoked burger with cheese and onion ring , perfect fries and by god he ate it! I had the lemon sauce shrimp pasta and wow it was so tasty ! The portion was huge ! The breadsticks just perfect. All the way wonderful ! After a corona (not me) my love felt the need to slow dance and I gleefully accepted. We both left very happy and delighted. Back to the motel ! I'm so confused on why this place doesn't have 5 stars. My husband literally tells everyone I think everything is "mediocre" especially food wise which is 100% true. This place is hands down the place to eat. I ordered the garlic parmesan crusted chicken with green beans and garlic mashed potatoes and it was sooooo dang good! Hands down the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. I am not big on green beans but I loved these and the chicken was well seasoned and moist. It seems like people have very different experiences based on staff (which in my world, means management needs to weed out the problem staff). I walked in, walked up to the bar counter (will say, the flow of entry, clarity of layout was confusing), the guy was welcoming and took my order, clarified the menu (online version provided was out of date), apologized after 5 minutes for the wait, and got me out the door in under 10. We had a great experience here. Not sure why the low rating. Better than anything we have found in town. We had a big group, with kids. Service was awesome, super fast, even made us custom drinks which were perfect! They apologized in advance for being short staff but you would have never known food came out so fast. August 2020 Had dinner outdoor next to the firepit, not bad... food is not cheap but good value (meaning large portion) for almost gourmet food. Had the steak and shrimp, that is sirloin steak, cooked to the desired medium rare but still tough (not fine food) but still delicious overall. Cutlery comes in rolled up napkin with no table cloth. The server was friendly but mega rush us as we dined and nearing closing time 9pm (!) with a smile. I would never willingly visit a 2.5 star yelp rated restaurant but nothing else was open so we went here. I wish I had not eaten. I literally wish I had gone to bed hungry, it was that bad. We knew going into this meal experience that the food would be so so. So in preparation we all ordered fried food, and this place cannot even get fried food right. I would honestly say this was the worst meal I have ever paid for. I wish I had went to the store and bought a bag of Doritos and a snickers bar, that would have been miles ahead of this. The menu clearly states what to expect when you order how done you would like it. We both typically order medium-rare​, but errored on the side of caution and ordered them medium. When they arrived, it was obvious they were not only medium, but completely well-done with no pink and very, VERY dry. This made for a very bland steak that was nearly inedible. Overall, Noah's Canteen's redeeming quality is the convenience factor while staying at Silver Mountain Resort. Aside from that, a very average experience. read more

In town for a short trip to Kellogg and arrived late ... looking for a quick dinner and a few drinks. Was hopeful as we typically stay in Wallace where you can find some surprisingly high quality dining. Bar was wrapped, dining room mostly empty and there was some live music outside. Looking to secure quick service we sat at the bar, which seemed to be the right choice initially. Other reviews point out service gaps and we were hoping to be proactive, Ordered some drinks and a couple items off the menu (poutine and the tri-tip dip). Neither was fantastic or even warm to be honest (steak sandwich was very smoky, horseradish was almost mayo-like mild and bread was cooler than room temp as if it was just pulled from a bag). The fries were quite good and seasoned well though. The Bartender (one of two) was appropriately attentive through our meal with drinks and clean up; however as we were evidently wrapping up she disappeared for an extended period of time. So much so that our discussion of let's have one more turned into let's get one to go, then to let's just go and finally "I'm pretty sure I'm sober again." By this point the crowd had dwindled to a handful of people and the other bartender was unable to help but said that ours would be back shortly. Maybe ten minutes later she came back and, much to our surprise she didn't even glance at us, but instead immediately engaged in conversation with what appeared to be other staff that was off work. We again snagged the other bartender who was able to redirect ours back to us at which point she was able to get us on our way. I will honestly say that up to her completely checking out for 45 minutes I felt the service was the high point here. Unfortunately, that's a dealbreaker for me. It's hard to grade this place. Sometimes it's horrible, other times it's fine. Tonight is an in between. The server and assistant staff did fine. This was not the case in the past, neglect is a good descriptive word. Tonight, there is a prime rib buffet going on at the same time as dinner, causing the restaurant to be out of mashed potatoes, no biggy to me. Also, they were out of pizza dough, but had flat bread. Which was fine with me. The food was ok, nothing to write home about. However, the cheese curds are awesome. Drinks are descent. Exactly a year ago, New Year's Eve, we were turned away, at 730pm. They were an hour out on service. Poor poor management. I was raised in the restaurant business. Reading the other reviews, this is not good business. They really need to figure things out. This could be better. I'm not impressed with 15 year olds manning the front desk. Especially when you have to show them, the list your reservation is on. All in all, don't get too excited. This is an average useable tourist bar. The food is kind of bland but edible and not really overpriced. The service was slow when I was there, but it was clearly their off season and they were short staffed. I would guess they are probably better in the winter which is clearly their prime season. There are definitely better places to eat around Kellogg but this place is very convenient to the big hotels and the ski area, and they have plenty of room for lots of guests. Also fairly nice outdoor dining area with cornhole boards and gas fire pits. In my opinion the very interesting local historic photos on the walls are the best feature of this restaurant. read more
