Everything about The Nobel House was wonderful! We visited on a weeknight and did not have to wait at all for a table. The hostess graciously moved a few tables together for our party of six. Our server, Jordan, was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Ambience is low key, nice conversation level background music. The beer selection is amazing and Jordan advised a nice inexpensive bottle of wine. I don't like smoky food, but there is enough to choose from as the menu is large with different offerings and sides. The fish tacos were some of the best I've tried and the side of brussel sprouts were an interesting choice. We will be back and enjoy the addition of The Nobel House to downtown Glen Ellyn! read more

This is the first time I've tried Nobel House and overall it was a great experience. It is a pub/sports bar but dont be fooled, their food is high end. For starters we tried the shrimp ceviche. Portion is large and it tastes so good, fried avocado with the ceviche was a pleasant surprise. I tried the lamb burger with fries for the main entree. The lamb burger was perfectly cooked and was very tasty. It can be a messy meal though. Definitely one of the best lamb burgers I've tried in the northwest suburbs. Just ok, solid beer selection, smoked wings are killer, Mac & cheese and bbq beans are really good. Ribs... ehh dry, chewy, overcooked or reheated...I like beef jerky though, Ruben...I really wanted to like it but not much flavor, honestly kinda bland even with extra 1k island, staff seriously some of the best! Went here for BBQ Sunday Brunch, The five of us Ist time coming here. We where not disappoint. 3 of us had the Smokey Burnt ends skillet, it was awesome. Eggs the way you want them. Sister had biscuits and gravy it was huge. Don't forget the Bloody Mary, we got the regular Bloody Mary,awesome. Our waitress was great also friendly and attentive. I've been to Nobel House a handful of times, and their service has always been quick, helpful, and knowledgeable. Whether sitting at the bar, a table, busy, or slow; we've always been happy with our service. The food is fantastic, as well as their beer and drink menu. The smoked wings with siratcha citrus glaze are the best! Their oysters with shaved horseradish, lamb burger, cauliflower steak, frisée salad, beer muscles, and roasted garlic have been our favorites, but everything has been great. Disclaimer: I've only been to Nobel House one time, but friends that go there regularly have corroborated my views on the place. I'd describe the food there as upscale/high quality pub food. I ordered a lamb burger and a beer (Lagunitas) and had some wings. The burger was delicious and well-made; cooked to perfection. There is a HUGE variety of craft beers. As a beer fiend from Wisconsin, that's saying something. The wings were probably the best of any wings that I've ever had. The service was very good. Prompt and friendly but not overly-friendly. There's a fair variety of quality food and beer and I'd love to go back and sample more. I'd give the place 5 stars if they came down maybe 20% or so on the prices, but I'm pretty frugal. I have given this place a few meals. It is not my fav but my husband likes it. We went there in December for his birthday lunch. I ordered a chicken sandwich. After a few bites, I thought yum...then before my next bite i realized that the chicken was raw. Thankfully I had only had the cooked side. The bartender was horrified. She was so professional. It has been two months and i decided to try it again. Same thing, but this time is was not lucky enough to miss the raw part. Really! How does this happen? The server was very nice. I told her that this is the second time that this happened. Not once did i see a manager. If this has happened to me twice then Im sure that this has happened to others. I have worked back of the house and front of the house. One of the number one rules is to not serve raw chicken. I know where i will never be eating again. read more

My wife and I visited here for the second time and the experience was as good as the first time. They have an excellent beer selection which is always important to me. The waitress was knowledgeable and able to recommend a beer that I liked. (Three Floyds Gumballhead) We both enjoyed the food as well. My wife had the Reuben's Sister Rachel and I had wings and fries. Both excellent and we'll want to keep coming back to try more menu items. The only reason this is not a 5 start is because they have limited space. This past visit we got there about 5:15 and were instantly seated but by 6:00 it was filled. The last time we visited, there was a 45 minute wait and we ended up squeezing in at the bar. Not a bad problem to have for Nobel House but we will plan our visits ahead to avoid the busiest times. read more

Having moved to the area in August, this was our first time here and it was great!! Snowy Saturday evening; so thought we'd give it a try knowing we'd probably still have to wait for a table. We started at the bar reviewing the ginormous beer menu (30 on tap and many more in bottles) Signature cocktails are yummy concoctions too! If you want a great meal choosing from a creative menu - it's worth the wait!! We had the ribs (so very meaty and full of flavor, didn't even use the sauce); pork tenderloin sandwich; burger with brisket on top (minus the bun to go gluten free-ish); burger with bacon n blue cheese, and lastly the cauliflower steak. All 4 of us LOVED our meals. DO NOT attempt this place with a party larger than 4! They do have gluten free menu options. We will definitely be back to try even more of the menu items (burnt ends on Tuesday only) as surrounding tables and conversations with the other guests about their favorites left all of us wanting to try more and more item. read more

First time after I had been hearing about it for a year or two. Waiting for the screens to be installed on the front of the restaurant (much like you see in the City), beverages are cheaper and parking is free in downtown Geneva as long as you move your car every 3-4 hours Mon-Fri 8am-6pm. Jeff was my bartender and he made me one of his signature drinks that was unique (never seen it anywhere before) and yet still incredibly good. Classy but not pretentious. Our server was a delight (at 11pm) despite being scheduled extra hours for a festival week(&end). Poutine with any meat on it and home made gravy is better than any late night drive through or $5 pizza pizza. My friend had the spicy Nashville chicken with 2 sides of mac and cheese, we also ordered the pulled pork nachos. Everything paired well with the New Mexico Mules. This gastro-pub is a gem in Geneva and worth the drive for those from a farther flung suburb. Exceptional beer menu and those choices get updated for seasonality. Like Barbecue? This is a great joint for you. Like an interesting salad? They make those too. Beer mussels are good and they make a mean charcuterie. Prices are typical for the western suburbs. Nothing crazy expensive. Open dining area and the TVs with various sports teams are always playing. We can take or leave the sports, we come for the food and the very attentive, friendly staff. Noise levels are reasonable. You don't have to yell at table mate to be heard. This is one of our favorite joints for lunch. They offer brunch on the weekend. Lobster omelettes! Dee-lish. read more

Nobel House has an awesome craft beer selection, good variety to their menu, a rustic decor, and all around good vibe. They also have eight screens, so this would a good place to watch your favorite team. We split the Nobel House burger, which was cooked to perfection, and had fries and mac and cheese as sides. We got the Mexican ceviche and the pulled pork sandwich. Ceviche was very good. It came with pieces of fried avocado. Interesting! It was tasty and refreshing. The sandwich was recommended by our server since they smoke their own meat here. Unfortunately the pork was unenjoyable, it was so dry, I almost chocked on it. Not even drenching it with the BBQ sauce could help it. Sorry, cannot recommend it. Beer selection was good and reasonably priced. Love the NoHo Bloody Mary's, the mac and cheese, and the burnt ends/meat candy. Any of those items are worth a visit on their own. We also enjoy the beer flights and had a great smoked meats platter one time. All the other menu items are a little pricey and typically service is a little slow...otherwise we keep Nobel House as a fun option for a drink and a quick bite. read more

Great first experience! My BF and I were in St Charles and we just wanted to get a drink and an app, but their menu looked so good we both got entrees. It was so hard to choose what to get, as everything looked delicious. I ordered the wings with house BBQ and fries and my BF got the lobster roll. The wings did not disappoint! The BBQ was very good and the wings were crispy and well seasoned. My BF liked his lobster roll, only complaint was that it was on the smaller side for the price. I got a Moscow mule, which was very gingery, just how I like it. My BF was Impressed with their ciders, I believe he got a cinnamon apple cider boys. I don't think the waitstaff is very knowledgeable and the food is inconsistent . I absolutely hate sausage gravy (bad food poisoning experience years ago). I asked the waitress about the gravy on the breakfast poutine as there are at last 3 different gravies listed on the menu and the description for this one was unclear. I was assured it wasn't a sausage gravy but a plain one. Funny enough my food came, and lo and behold, it's covered in sausage gravy. My friends ordered the biscuits and gravy, yet it was a completely different presentation than that had gotten a month ago, lacking enough gravy to cover their biscuits. Did I get their gravy by mistake? At least the beers I had were good! read more

Mind you, the brisket at Smoque BBQ is my high bar and I usually will not get brisket for fear of being disappointed. I got the brisket with fries and a side salad. A friend and I walked in and another couple followed behind us. The couple that walked in after us received menus and drinks within moments after arriving then the waitress disappeared for a while so we decided to go somewhere else. We weren't hidden amongst a crowd or anything. We sat at a high top table and the place was approximately half-full. We were just shocked that nobody acknowledged us in that time.
