My friends and I arrived for an early dinner after spending an unseasonably beautiful day in downtown Geneva. We sat down immediately and were given menus. We asked to have a small sample of two beers to make sure we'd enjoy one or the other. The sample was appreciated and helped us decide on the Kolsch. For food we went with half Turkey sandwich with Chicken Tortilla Soup, half Reuben Sandwich with Chicken tortilla soup, and a Pub Burger. The food was very good. Our friend was still eating when the server took the other plates away and left the check, never asking if we wanted another drink or dessert etc. A few minutes later the server returned and asked if we were ready to pay the bill and again our friend was still eating to which we pointed out and said no. Approximately 10 minutes after that we were ready to finish up. We were there less than an hour. We put our card in the check wallet and each of us proceeded to use the washroom separately as it was only one stall/bathroom. I was the last one to use the washroom and as I came out my friends were standing near the door with my purse and coat as they were told they needed the table. I understand the place is small and people were waiting but to be rushed out is ridiculous. Especially to be rushed while still eating. The food was great but the lack of allowing us to enjoy the experience left us very disappointed.

Third Street Ale And Beyond Burger

Checked out this long time local brewery in Geneva. It has a really tight space inside so expect to wait just to get inside. Stockholm's is a great way to pay tribute to the Swedish heritage of the area and village. A place that hasn't changed a lot. They obviously haven't added any seating. Before going, you must know this place is always crowded. It's because there's a very limited amount of space, and it's hard to get a table or even a seat at the bar if lucky. This for certainly isn't a good place for large groups or parties. Of course if it gets a crowd it must be good. This certainly was. Beers were cheaper than expected. It's about $6 a pint. Best one of these we had was the Third Street Ale. This is a Belgian style brown with rich malty flavors and a slightly sour finish. It's about $15 for the Beyond Burger. This is the main option for vegetarians. Comes with fries. The rest of the food menu has Swedish classics like meatballs. Every single time coming here it's busy, which is a good thing because it stays in business. It's been around here since 2002, so that makes it one of the oldest craft breweries, and you know those come and go. The food menu is mostly meaty with pastas and seafood, but there's a few things for vegans and vegetarians.

Pub Burger and Viking Red Ale

5 stars is not enough! Place is jam-packed every time I've come, so that speaks volumes. The brews are excellent (Viking Red Ale is my fave) and I highly recommend the Pub Burger. Did I mention the super-friendly staff? All in all, I can't give a higher recommendation.

    Reuben & a salad. Delicious!

Great food and service in this fun Pub style restaurant. We had the sandwich/salad combo and none left hungry or disappointed.

This place was amazing. We walked in and were seated right away. Now I'm not gonna lie when we sat down I was kinda skeptical because I'm not a big fan of bar food. I will admit I was totally wrong. Everything was great the menu was really big for a pub menu. My brother ordered the colossal fish sandwich and it was huge and tasty. I ordered the seared ahi tuna appetizer which was great. Also my brother ordered the coconut shrimp which came with a Pina colada dipping sauce that was out of this world. The servers were very nice. Mike was our server and he was great. Overall it was a great experience. I will definitely be back.

Pollyanna is one of the top attractions in downtown St. Charles along the Fox River. Has the brewery as well as a patio that's nice when it's warm enough. They also have a distillery for those who are getting the hard stuff. Best thing about this place is of course the beer, but it also has a chill atmosphere. It's located in the middle of downtown in a plaza. There's a patio in front that will be packed in warm weather. For this particular trip we sat inside. The inside is actually pretty big, and has the bar area as well as an area with quite a few tables. It's about $7 a pint. There was a pretty good variety. I got the Sweater Paws. It's a blonde ale that's on the lighter side. This beer has notes of coffee and vanilla. As for the food, not much else besides $1 or so bags of chips but you can bring stuff in. Has Colleen's Breadsticks for $6 a bag which are local. There's several restaurants next to here that will deliver an order. Has a pretty fun atmosphere and most important has good beers to choose. It also has cans to go. The brewery also hosts some food trucks.
