I've been here twice, once this past fall, and the other just last week - it was great both times! This most recent time I was there with a group of teachers, having pre-comedy show lunch & drinks, and everyone (there were 6) loved their food, and really enjoyed their drink options. Our server was fab, super friendly and quick (shout-out to Brody!), and had great suggestions from his menu faves. The previous time I came was post-comedy show, just for drinks, and the 3 of us all enjoyed our drinks then, as well. We stopped in on a Friday night and this place was crowded! We were told there would be about a 20 minute wait but we were fortunate to be seated in 5 minutes. We were greeted by Ian our server immediately which was very nice. We noticed they have Happy Hour Tues-Fri from 4-6pm so we took advantage of their half off cocktails and a few food specials. I had the Wisconsin Old Fashion and my wife had the Poli Old Fashion which was tequila based. Both were fantastic! We started with an order of their Street Corn Deviled Eggs which were amazing..super creamy. They do have a GF menu so my wife had a bowl of their homemade chili and I had their Italian Beef Bao trio. Both were delicious and very meaty. We came in on a Friday night during happy hour and waited only a short time for a table. Our server Ian was really friendly and didn't rush us. Happy Hour menu is available Tuesday through Friday from 4pm to 6pm so we took advantage of the half priced drinks and food. I had a cocktail called Poli Old Fashioned which is made with tequila, mezcal and agave bitters. The waiter explained that Poli is the name of their chef. I love a smokey cocktail so I really enjoyed it. The street corn deviled eggs were creamy and not at all spicy. My husband really enjoyed the trio of Italian Beef Bao. We also tried the Chili which was very meaty and served piping hot. The patrons seem to be mostly local regulars and it was busy. Stopped in after a comedy show to get some dinner, nothing else nearby seemed to be open lol. It wasn't super busy so we sat at the bar, enjoyed some drinks and food. The bartender was super chill and friendly made some good genuine conversation. Their overall theme is people throughout time considered GOATs like Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, etc. burger and fries were good and the chorizo corn dip also really good. Came here to grab a burger. It was on the way home, so we figured why not? We parked in a lot up the street and walked down (maybe 100 yards). We were seated quickly. Since it was cold outside, the front door lets in a lot of cold air. It gets extremely drafty. We had to keep our coats on. The burger was decent. It was called repeat the 3peat. Evan is awesome! A very personable bartender who knows the menu well. We felt very welcome here on a Monday afternoon. We decided to get a drink and some nibbles. Evan recommended pretzel bites and we got the cheese sauce on the side. The pretzels are really good. It doesn't look like a lot but they are very filling. The mozzarella sticks are hand breaded and fresh. You can tell they are not frozen. Would like to come back for a bigger meal sometime. The facility is bright, cheery and fun to look at. I can't say The Goat lived up to its name. The service was the highlight. Our waitress was young but attentive and helpful. The inside looks cool but we quickly realized the TVs are not set up for easy viewing. Our table was also so sticky even after having one of the bus boys wipe it down again. They were out of the cocktail I originally wanted so I tried the "With a Y." It came in a very decent size but I could barely taste the alcohol. The last time we were here this place was a BBQ restaurant so we are a little familiar with the atmosphere. It's the same. Plenty of free Parking on the side. Their menu is small but plenty to choose from. Our server was great. They have an excellent drinks menu. Since it was lunch I we didn't have any drinks just water. We tried the Cheese Burger Rolls. Very good. The sauce that accompanied the rolls is what makes this dish. We tried the Asada Baked Potato and the Elote Power Bowl with Shrimp for Protein. They were both great but the salad was awesome. It not only looked Delicious but also tastes excellent. We didn't try their burgers but next time we will along with a drink. Torn on how to score the review. I had previously been to this location when it was the bbq restaurant, it is now a burger restaurant. Layout of the building is a little cramped. I felt we were sitting on top of other tables. Our server was rude. The host/food runner was nice. Burger was a little salty. Fries were seasoned well. Overall , I'll give them a four. It's our first time visiting the GOAT! We were definitely impressed! Not only were the decorations and the atmosphere completely on point and super cool to look at! There are two floors to this restaurant and you can see the upstairs from the bottom floor through the balcony, next time we'll have to ask to sit upstairs so we can take a look around. The food was absolutely fantastic, the burgers tasted so fresh and they were made to perfection! Each one of us got something different as you can see in the pictures, and we liked the hint of spice that was in everything that we ordered. Not a review of bar/venue. Went in for carry out. Got a black and blue burger, hold onions and mushrooms. It was dry and they left out the "blue" or at least what was there really didn't help the burger. Fries were ok, but would not recommend for carry out. The clamshell container the meal came in sealed in the moisture so by the time I got home the fries were not so much crispy as chewy. Decent. Potential. Nothing stood out as a high or a low here. I settled for a chicken sandwich and fries because I didn't want a burger, and they don't have a great deal of other choices here. Burgers and salads aside, the menu is slim for entrees. Everyone else at my table was at a 3 or 4 here. The food was good, but I think we were all feeling like more choices would have been better. We have tried your restaurant at least eight times. The menu does not excite me. But I usually get a hamburger. Last night was the last time we will ever come to your restaurant. The server/bartender named Nyna was rude from the beginning till the end. The food is just OK. We usually spend over $80-$150. depending on how many people we invite. Found this cute little place when most other places weren't open between lunch and dinner. We sat at the bar and Mallory took care of us. She not only made excellent drinks (the Paradise and an Old Fashion) she had several recommendations but her favorite was Bahn Mi Sandwich which I've never had but had my eye on and was certainly willing to try, it did not disappoint. I opted for the onion rings, also on Mallory's rec, they were perfectly cooked and delicious. We also tried the deviled eggs. I'll admit at first the presentation was a bit off putting because they are mixed with avocado but the taste was great, totally recommend. Tried the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. I enjoyed the twist of having waffles as the bun. The waffles were sweet and light and complemented the spicy chicken. The chicken was not too hot, but still had some nice kick. The bourbon/whiskey selection was very impressive! They offered nightly and monthly food and drink specials. Food was served on the previous restaurants trays, very unappealing presentation. Burger patties were from a box, but did taste good when on a bun with tomato, etc. Mac and Cheese was really good. The waitress we had was so unhappy and seemed to be irritated we were there. We where a group of four and where seated upstairs, there was no one else up there and there was no warm feeling at all, would have been better downstairs. The waitress dropped our trays of food on the table, even made a comment when we ordered to order all at one time so she did not have to go up and down the stairs more than needed! Went here for the 1st time when another local restaurant was taking forever to even get water (an hour and had to stop them to get the water) but The Goat staff took care of us promptly and were very nice.
