Yes, every city has smash burgers now, congratulations. Wolf's Head? The issue with throwing pork into the mix is some days it's glorious and some days it's the driest burger you'll ever eat. Higgins?! Yes, dad, your $30 bacon cheeseburger was totally worth it and not at all a slightly upgraded McMenamins offering. But Five Stars? I'm genuinely stunned every time Grand Lodge has a show and this place isn't packed. Those who know treasure it, and those who lack the patience are missing out. There's enough commentary on the spartan interior and the counter-and-drink-cooler aesthetic, but the important detail is the note to customers to the right of the register: Your meal is going to take time. It's going to be perhaps 20 to 40 minutes. It will not come out before that time. If you are in a hurry, please go elsewhere.
