This place is sooooo good. Saturday afternoon they were pretty busy, 40 minute wait, people standing waiting for tables. But worth the wait. Best restaurant burger I have ever had. Fresh and flavorful,! My husband had the turkey bacon avocado sandwich. Enough for two people. Lots of meat, thick bacon lettuce and tomato. Wish I lived closer as this would be one of my go tops for a great burger

French dip. We usually share a large one.

If the droll emoji were a place, it would be this cafe. The French dip is amazing. The au jus is tasty, and the onion, meat, cheese combo is decadent. Staff is always friendly. This place is always hopping. It can be a longer wait if you don't order ahead, but they are cranking out orders. Sometimes hard to find a seat given it's popularity. Don't miss out on walking across the parking lot to their deli/store too.

One of my favorite places to grab lunch from. We always call ahead and place our order, as they are quite popular. Our favorite is the turkey bacon avocado sandwich and the Ruben. Very friendly staff every time. Tables and chairs with seating if they aren't packed. Walk across the parking lot to their butcher shop while you are there and grab some meat to cook for dinner. You won't be disappointed.

    Turkey Sandwich, Thursday Special

Came here on a Thursday afternoon after having driven past it so often. The store definitely felt like it was a classic deli with a menu that had specials everyday! I decided to go with their Thursday special, unfortunately for me, the sandwich came too dry and was just not the best. It was large and filling but as I noted before, way too dry. The service was great though and the loud speaker announcing order numbers made it easy to tell when to pick up your order no matter where you were! I would definitely come back again and try a different sandwich!

I waited until today to try this place so I could get the brisket sandwich. The sandwich was good, however I was a little disappointed in the tenderness of the brisket. The flavor was good. What I am taking 1 star away for is the chips, they were not good and very salty. Everyone in our group made this observation.

Celebrating 12 years My girlfriend looks thrilled about it eh? We went to the Meating Place Cafe to get some food (I recommend the Turkey Cranberry sandwich with Mama Lil's Peppers) and then headed to Henry Hagg Lake (I also recommend) to eat, hike, and swim.

Finally got the chance to come here and the vibe, the service, and of course the food were all top notch! Plenty of parking in the parking lot between the cafe and the butcher shop. They do have online ordering if you want to order ahead because they do get busy during lunch time! I appreciated wait time transparency when ordering and overall enjoyed the humor of all the signage as well. There were plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. You order at the counter, pay, and wait for your number to get called. Easy peasy. I had the get the Reuben sandwich because I've heard great things and it exceeded my expectations! The bread was soft and got that classic marbled rye taste, melted cheese, generous amount of corned beef and sauerkraut. It came with a bag of chips and a pickle spear. My friend got the Barnyard Burger and it was very delicious as well. Come get your grub on and support this local business! I'll be sure to check out the butcher shop next time!

    Beans very good, Mac meh.

Finally got to try after years on the list. Very friendly service is the first thing you notice. The fresh off the grill Cubano was delicious, one of the better I've had. Enjoyed the sweet BBQ beans that had just the right amount of meat, but was luke-warm on the Gouda Mac. Order to execution during the non-peak period took a long time though. I wish I lived closer so I could work the menu. Prices seem in-line.

    Pick up counter.

The Original and Chorizo are my favs. Both come out hot with a packet of sour cream and a side of homemade salsa. I was looking around and most people were ordering sandwiches. Service seemed prompt and orderly. The ambiance looked clean, simple and nothing fancy. The cafe is separate from the butcher shop. We accidentally parked and walked into the store where they sold all the fresh meats. Which was nice to stop by while waiting for your food (we had a 30 min wait time).

Love this place! Really great sandwiches and clam chowder soup. They have many options of sandwiches and burgers to choose from. It's a bit of a wait to receive your food and that's because it will be coming out fresh. If you're in the mood for a sandwich you must try. Also sandwiches come in half a or whole.

Burgers are great flavor. We had to wait 30 minutes because the restaurant was very busy and orders were stacked. Cashiers were friendly and efficient. Every table was taken. The wait is worth it for the good food.

Ask the Community - The Meating Place Cafe

Is there beer or wine or other served there?

We offer beer (draft and canned/bottled) and cider.

Are you currently serving breakfast? I didn't see it on your menu but the pictures on here look delicious.

Are their cuts of meat significantly more expensive than the grocery store?

If you are talking grocery Stores like Safeway- Yes, because they are a much higher quality. They are also local and fresh, and you can find different cuts there as opposed to most grocery stores. Otherwise I'd say steaks, Ground meats, and sausages… Read more

There is a koi pond while you wait to be seated and the Japanese garden area is serene. The kare was surprisingly salty. We felt ignored afterwards. No one checked on us how everything tasted, and I had to constantly flag the blonde waitress down. But the hotel ambience is 10/10. It does feel like I have stepped back in Japan, and would love to take my whole family here one day, perhaps for dinner experience--maybe down the road when the operation has been refined..

It is enough to fill your stomach right at the boarder line of not too full nor hungry! Everything was delicious in my opinion and the price is fair too! I have no complaints. Great service as well. Very attentive! I saw a comment regarding about miso soup? Lol... 90% in American miso soup are kind of instant or with a paste. And tofu are dehydrated or fresh. And yet, should stir the soup so it won't be powdery looking... Ppl can be disappointed over miso soup lmao.

That said, the coffee was nothing special. It was cool to see the roasting facility through the glass in the dining area. Now let's talk about the breakfast. My husband had the eggs Benedict and it was OK. I ordered the West Coast Hash and eggs and it wasn't OK. My over medium eggs were microwave rubber. Moved like silly putty. The hash was 99% potatoes and microscopic squares of ham and chopped dried bacon. The meal was very unpleasant. The best part of the hash were the diced jalapeños. This place is a one and done for me.
