I have been in need of a place that can accommodate my wonky schedule where I can kind of zone out and just hit the treadmill for a bit. The private feel of the wellness center suits my needs. The owner is quite accommodating and friendly. She answered all of my questions in a timely and professional matter. I kind of like to just do my thing and leave when it comes to gyms. This place is the perfect feel for me. They are kind yet respectful of their members needs. I'm not a class giver, but they seem to have a large class following which leads me to believe classes are good here! read more

BE WARE! THIS IS NOT A GYM! Ms. Esposito is the owner of what she proclaims is and sells 'the largest gym on the North Fork and services all ages'. The membership rates are comparable to actual Hampton's Gym's membership rates. What she calls the largest gym on the North Fork' is in actuality nothing short of a cliquey 'Active Lifestyle Center for Seniors' in a distressed and poorly ventilated dated building adorned with plastic grapes to celebrate the North Fork's vineyard heritage with a limited weak set of exercise classes with vintage sound tracks. The lack of equipment from mats, to weights has forced me to leave classes on several occasions and Ms. Esposito's response is 'that is all we have' makes for a surreal experience as a gym should obviously be equipped with sufficient equipment to accommodate their membership. In addition to a poor and insufficient facility, if the class is partially full to full there literally isn't enough space in the room to exercise or layout mats as the room is lined with just too much underutilized stationary exercise equipment taking space up in over crowded rooms making it impossible to exercise. With wall to wall old carpeting, signage that requests sneaker/shoe removal upon entrance, plastic taped on the windows year round making the 2nd floor class room a hot house to abbreviated class schedules at the whim of instructors and or requests of the students(with the exception of the weight/strength training class and the owner's walking class which is not abbreviated) to a pilates instructor that is simply remarkably rude and mean makes one wonder if they have stepped backed into an unfamiliar time, place and or entered a Netflix filming of Steel Magnolias flick night and wondering just where you are and how did you get there. Initially Ms. Esposito 'promised to make an exception to 'her LACK of monthly membership freezing policies by promising to freeze my membership for a month. After 5 weeks of going to classes and all of the above problems including walking out of classes because of lack of space, lack of weights, equipment, having to shorten my workout because the class was shortened for no valid reason except students were 'tired' because they spent the day there 'exercising'. In addition Ms. Esposito also teaches walking classes despite her compromised physical condition which makes you wonder what kind of workout any of these students predominately women are actually getting. At the point in which I requested not only freezing my membership for a month but for the summer because of the extremely uncomfortable and lack of equipment and increased seasonal membership; Ms. Esposito informed me she had no intention of removing the plastic from the windows (despite the fact that I mentioned that it was unnecessarily hot and for her older students risky); she simultaneously reneged on her agreement to freeze my Membership at all as promised when I joined. In a hand delivered letter my request for membership balance reimbursement was ignored. Lastly, I must mention that my experience dealing with her exclusive student body who doesn't welcome 'outsiders or students who aren't regulars' makes this shockingly disturbing on so many levels. Ultimately the benefits of exercise are many including reducing stress so my only recourse was to walk away from my $850 investment and move on. If you are looking for a Gym, do not join this, IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A GYM. IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A WELLNESS CENTER. The North Fork needs a full service gym but this is not it. read more
