My first time in this nail salon. I am a visitor to NMB and was looking for a good pedicure. My DD has recently bought a home here and we are looking for a nail salon. This place was highly recommended on Yelp. I was a walkin and was immediately seated with no wait. I asked for a Volcano pedicure which is a premium experience. $68. And one down from their top pedicure. The pedicure was good overall. But not 5*. The callus removal was done with a small block. No callus grater as I have come to expect at other establishments. My feet need that for sure. Parafin was good. Massage was good. Staff was pleasant. The cons: the volcano pedicure was not performed. No special volcano with bubble soak beforehand. The scrub and cream was not Volcano either. On payment I reconfirmed that it was a Volcano that I was charged for and they said yes. I asked if they do not do the volcano soak and dead silence. So I feel that I was charged $10 extra for a service I did not receive. Second con: The polish is too thick and my toenail's are uneven in length. So do be careful that you get what you pay for. I adjusted tip down a bit for the faults. I will look for a better place and have advised DD same. Try Cinza Spa. For same price I paid, it is a much better experience and toesnwill be much prettier. read more

Halfway through I said enough!!!!!! I Said to the girl at the front please stop talking to him. He's hurting me and I said to the guy doing my toes please stop arguing with her. You're hurting me. I don't think he understood the silence lasted 30 to 45 seconds before they went at it again. I said to the girl doing my nails, "what is happening here?", she said they are fighting since yesterday. They only do gel polish and dip polish - there is no regular polish option. The pedicure was a good pedicure with no issues but I don't really see the need to have gel polish on my toes but that is my preference. When I came in, I showed the initial nail tech a manicure set with a design and she said okay. After 2 hours, she said she was finished and there was no design on my nails. I asked to get the design and another nail tech did put the design on my nails. The original nail tech was really rough when cutting and drilling on my cuticles. The final product ended up looking very thick and is already coming off after 2 weeks. Not worth my time or money to repeat this. read more

I was pleased! I called last minute and was informed they took both walk ins and appointments. I made an appointment for a little over a hour out. Walked right in and was seated. It was relaxing even with about 4 customers being taken care of and it seemed pretty clean. I just got a gel mani and pedi. Price was pretty normal from what I was used to at home. The positives ~ I got a pedi appointment right away, I mean within 1/2 an hour and no waiting at salon. A real plus. The nail tech, Henry? was good. Not great; better than fair. He gave a very nice scrub and lotion massage too. Why I won't go again ~ a 12 week old nude gel polish was so old it came off easily with the drill. No acetone foil wrap necessary to remove stubborn gel. I chose clear gel polish for new. Easy, no precision necessary. The menu states pedi is 33.00. Gel pedi ~ add 13.00. Okay 46.00. The total was 49.50. 3.50 to remove 12 week old polish I guess. Plus a tip. Overpriced. I realize they are in a prime location right on Main St in North Myrtle. I guess tourists may be stuck to go there. (I was yesterday; my nail tech moved down to Garden City). I am a local and will find another more reasonably priced salon. This service should not have been more than 40.00, the average price today for gel pedi. And considering the polish was so old, and the new one was clear (no polish cost at their end) it should have been even less. read more

I've been getting my nails done for 40 years, and this is the worst experience I've ever had. First of all, I have seen on other sites where the employees have gone back and replied to negative reviews saying that apparently people who gave them terrible reviews thought they were at another salon. How condescending and insulting, and, let me assure you, this is NOT the case. In my case, Peter was talking to me about another customer and was angrily saying that she didn't know what she wanted: well, that other customer was my best friend who was dealing with a female employee who was acting as if she understood no English, who seemed to understand perfectly before my friend began to become unhappy with the ways her nails were being done. As for me, my technician, Peter, was too busy trying to fix the phone. Between attending each nail, he attended to the phone just as much or more, leaving a maximum of 20 mins spent on my nails, which already are needing to be done again, and my visit was 3 days ago. I found the employees to be very rude and disrespectful to the customers. They were insolent and condescending, in addition to being incompetent and uncaring. This was my first time here and my first manicure/pedicure since covid. I had a whole spa day planned and this was my last, pre-scheduled service on my list for the day. I was started out with a pedicure which at first was what I familiarize as a normal pedicure, then it began to go down hill quite fast. The entire experience felt rushed, when it came to actually prepping the toe nails before polish there was no cuticle removal or pushing just quick jabs at my toes and my feet look worse than when I came in, again not having a pedicure in over a year prior. The painting was sloppy and done very quickly which, for some reason they took out the toe spacers before attempting to put back on my sandals and caused both big toes to completely ruin when sliding back on. Then polish was slapped on quickly to try to fix it repeatedly with many layers. Now during the manicure the same rushed prepping was involved minus trimming obvious cuticle and skin around the nail to be able to put on the gel polish that I requested. However, after the quick application and having to do many redos and wiping off of gel polish between curing my hands, like my toes, looked worse than they did when I arrived. To put the cherry on top, my manicure finish was a dry, course 2 second rub with cuticle oil that is out on your nails after a gel manicure. I cringe as I watched the technician and client next to me use lotion like I'm used to. I have shared my concerns privately with no response and reached out before writing this publicly. I am really not here to be hateful or ugly about this place, but I have tried to reach out with photos and the staff had admitted to the results but the business refuses to refund the services (not the tip). I still don't want to make the technician feel bad or worse but I just had the worst experience in all my experiences at other similar businesses in and around Asheville. I hate writing reviews like this, but I tried to be peaceful about it directly however, this establishment will only offer a redo considering this experience and I unfortunately live too far away to just get a redo. I was specifically in the area that day for other appointments close by and I have very rare moments to myself to even be able to do these things being a working mom. If anything, I would definitely speak up if you visit this place and are not 100% satisfied, I felt terrible and didn't speak up, but they knew I was not happy even before charging me which made me even feel more powerless in the situation.
