Our home away from home! We love every meal we've had at The Noisy Oyster. The owner and staff are The Best, attentive and personable. Prices are very fair as well. The Noisy Chicken sandwich is my favorite sandwich, and the clam chowder is better than what we had on vacation in Cape Cod. Seriously! Always daily specials and the Monday burger ($6.50 with fries) is absolutely delicious, and you must get there early, as The Noisy Oyster gets full quickly. As a newcomer to Akron, the concept of the Noisy Oyster was intriguing to me. On a weekday evening during dinner time, the space was very empty. We were one of the few to sit at the tables, and a few others were sitting at the bar. On a good note, the creekside view was unique and peaceful, and our waitress was wonderful. I went on a Monday for lunch wanted some fresh oysters, I was informed oysters are delivered on Monday but no timeframe never came we were there till 1:30 pm. I got a cod sandwich big piece but not seasoned, got their homemade chips not warm and not very many . My husband got their lake perch , panko crust covered up the taste of the perch too much breading. Ok so here's the scoop. Jonathon has owned this place for a few years now and has slowly changed the place. It may look the same from the outside but it also looks the same from the inside. Lol... it's cool neighborhood bar vibe has not changed but the food has been upgraded and is definitely amazing, folks and staff are friendly, service is fast, beer is cold! Listen: I think it's understandable to be skeptical when someone recommends a strip mall seafood restaurant in Akron, Ohio. But enough people whose opinions I trust kept suggesting the Noisy Oyster, and it has quickly become our new favorite. The raw oysters were a real bargain, but more importantly, they were perfectly chilled and fresh. I know this isn't a fancy place, but some mignonette would be a nice addition... The first time, I had the perch sandwich, which was a nice reprieve from the typical deep fried seafood you see. It came just lightly fried in panko crumbs, so it wasn't heavy or oily. The fish was beyond buttery. I appreciated that the lettuce and tomato garnishes were actually fresh and flavorful. The fries were delicious, and the homemade tartar was also impressive (not too much mayo). We've also had wings, the house burger (burger night is one hell of a deal), the Noisy chicken sandwich (loved the jalapenos on that one), fried oysters, and what I'd call New Orleans barbecue shrimp. You can just tell the difference when corners are not cut and even small items are made in-house. We stopped by to meet friends for drinks. We ended up having lunch and it was delicious! They had a special on Mussels and they were great, especially for the price. The broth had a nice flavor. I had the perch dinner. It had a nice thin crispy coating that was not greasy, hand cut fries and homemade coleslaw. The quality of the food is definitely a step up over normal bar food. My wife and I have been coming here for a couple years now and we are always consistently pleased. Despite the recent damage done from a landslide, the staff is working hard and business is booming. The seafood is delicious and a great price but we also enjoy their burgers, steaks, and other entrees. The staff is friendly and really on the ball. We love the neighborhood bar feel. read more

The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and the food is great. The fried cod is lightly breaded and has a mild, pleasant flavor. The Inferno burger was well seasoned. I am only giving this place 4 star because the food was great and so are the prices. I don't know if it's because my skin color is a bit darker or what. But the service was terrible slow and long! Started off with a girl got one drink she took our appetizer order and never seen her again unless she was playing with the thermostat but whatever! We came here with some friends - the restaurant is located in the Merriman Valley. It sits at the end of a strip plaza without a ton of parking but it's definitely worth checking out. Fancy, it is not. This place has "dive" written all over it - but in the best ways possible! Clean, with cheap, tasty food and kitschy decorations. We loved it! My husband and I both ordered nonalcoholic drinks, as well as 6 oysters, clam chowder, shrimp tacos, a basket of his puppies, the fried flounder basket with coleslaw, and a side salad and our bill was only $43. We couldn't believe the value for the price. The fish was crispy and a great sized portion. The tarter sauce had a little kick to it. Everything was really good. Our friends ordered 12 oysters, 2 shrimp cocktails, a side salad, the flounder basket, the clam dinner, and a basket of fries and coleslaw with nonalcoholic drinks for $68.
