Very cute spot. As soon as you walk in, they have tons of little knickknacks and they have chips and salsa for you to try. Watch out that Arbol salsa is super hot! Came here with my cousins and my mother to try for the first time. We ordered a charcuterie board and their Chimayo cheese was the best. We got the wine tasting that had four different wines. My favorite was Moscato and very berry. This place is about a year old and there are plenty of seats inside as well as outside. Outside is mostly high top seats but inside has booths and regular seats. Booth work for us because I have white hips so I don't sit in the regular chairs. Wonderful location with huge deck viewing the throngs along the busy downtown area. Gigantic bar is a little under-served but so is everywhere else in town. Servers were very cheerful and helpful. We had a terrific cheese board and it paired well with the pomegranate and apple ciders! If you just arrived from Napa, or Bordeaux, or Tuscany, then the wine will probably disappoint. Was very excited to try local wines in New Mexico and this winery seemed like the perfect place. Tastings are $10 for 4 samples which is a good price. They also offer beer tastings but options are very limited as this is a winery and not a brewery. Great option for someone who wants to tag along but doesn't care for wine. Beer selection available isn't great though. We tried their Rose, sparkling wines, dry red and whites and found them to be too sweet. One of the wines tasted vinegary which makes us think that it may have been past its shelf life. The one wine that I was excited to try (green chile wine) was out of stock (such a bummer!). The whole party was disappointed in our tastings. We also ordered a cheese plate and absolutely enjoyed it. The selection of cheeses were so yummy as well as the fixings that went along with it. The winery itself is very nice and large, very accommodating with outdoor seating. For a better selection of wine, go across the street to the Reserve Tasting room by Noisy water. Much better wine selection. This location is far roomier but the reserve is much cozier and the pourers much more knowledgeable. read more

Such a cute space in Ruidoso with great local wine and an adorable patio. To start, the space is huge for a small town winery. It is located right off the main strip with a ton of other cute places to shop and enjoy. We wanted to sit on the patio so skipped the tasting as that required you stay inside at the bar. A tasting is $10 so I would totally recommend checking it out if you aren't quite sure which on their many wines you want. I ordered a moscato and enjoyed it with the perfect weather outside on the patio. They have a ton of different wines for every palate and some snacks. We got the baguette board which was pretty good, I loved the whipped feta and the cloves of garlic. My only suggestion is when we were ordering, there were a few different staff members at the bar. At first it was just us ordering and one lady helping us but as it got busier the staff was kind of helping everyone. Instead of just having a staff member help a specific group, the lady who was helping us started helping another group and another lady started helping us then the original lady helped us again, kind of like musical chairs. It would have been a little less chaotic for one person to help one group at a time. read more

We first went to the members-only VIP club upstairs, which was very quiet. I had four sweet profiles, but you can mix dry and sweet. My favourite was the Ruidoso Bubbly. They have very limited options in the VIP club, so we went downstairs to try other profiles. The downstairs area was bustling and lively. The space is also very neat inside. Modern, stylish, classy feel to it. Open and inviting. Tables and sitting space and a nice side lounge also. Little cheese and craft shop inside as well as gifts, wine swag, and other nifty little things to shop around for. The staff is way kind and super helpful. Tasting is available for all pallets as well. The last couple of times I've gone by for a tasting, I've not been as impressed as I was a couple of years ago. I don't care for the redesign of the building. A couple of years ago the store was in the front and the back was bar and tables and it felt cozy with shelves and trinkets on the wall. Now the front is a designated cheese area and the back is the wine area, but it feels like a cafeteria with slightly higher tables. The only chairs are bar stools and there's no place to hang a coat. It just feels awkward. When I came in it took forever (on the cheese side) for someone to acknowledge my presence. I wasn't sure how things worked - do we get cheese here and wine in there? Do we bring the wine from there to here, or the cheese to there? What's a pre-made cheese platter consist of? (The answers, FYI, are that it seems to not matter where you sit, and you can drink the wine in either room, but if you want to do a tasting, you'll need to be in the back. So we took our pre-made cheese platter-- of honey sriracha, natural Gouda, green chile jack, and Asiago - with a fancy cream cheese in the middle topped with a sauce that my mom LOVED - into the back). I would prefer bread/crackers that are NOT wheat thins though. A cracker with less sugar? We did have table service, which was nice. My friend, who's 36, didn't have her ID and was not allowed to participate in the wine tasting, so BRING YOUR ID. They will ask! The wine tasting is decent for $5, but my last choice, the bottle ran out on a less-than-complete pour and it was never topped off. Alas. I will say I bought a gift card and the customer service was really helpful - they even threw in a free tasting because I waited so long, so I appreciate that. We have tasted their wines at wine festivals and we have always liked their wines, so we were excited to get to their tasting room!! We walked in and were amazed with their infused oils! First time to Ruidoso, NM and was instantly charmed. Had to swing by the winery with the same name as our cabin in the woods. Let me tell you, even during COVID, it was amazing! With seating inside and out back...and...gasp...2 different locations steps away from each other, I know I will be coming back. So, my bestie and I ambled in, we were quite parched, and decided to try the local berries of the vine. For $10, you get to try 4 wines. I went my glorious way to the red while the bestie went with her sweets and lighter shades. They danced on the tounge, they warmed the soul, and the bestie had to tap out after she tried the port...she was the driver on this excursion, so safety first. I had my four and enjoyed them tremendously. I will be bringing all the friends I can back to this lil gem ticked in Ruidoso. read more

We came to Noisy Water last weekend and it was a fantastic experience. They had 3 2 oz. tastings for $5 (my mom and I split one of the tastings). They also had several different trays you could choose from with cheese, crackers, jam etc. We're not usually ones to do an afternoon of wine tasting, but our server and her knowledge made it that much better and the atmosphere was great with the little picnic tables in back. I wanted to start off with the Besito de Coco, a sweet, flavorful red flavored with graham cracker and marshmallow, but our server advised us to try that one last since it had a higher alcohol content and a richer palate. Our choices were the sweet Jo Mamma's very berry red and the Bella Rosa, a bubbly sweet pink (my mom's favorite). My dad had the Jo Mamma's red, the riesling (his favorite), and the mango tango. The 4th tasting was free, which was a choice of green chile or red chile chocolate. The green chile was flavorful but without the bite, and the red chocolate (my favorite of the two), sweet and could taste hints of chocolate with every sip. The only regret we have is not buying a bottle while we were there. Oh well, maybe we'll get lucky with Total Wine. A great way to spend the afternoon. 2020 #25 read more
