There was tons of parking all around the park across the street. Inside had something like 6 or 8 tables and a bar to sit at. They also have outdoor seating. You order at the register and they bring it out to you. I ordered the 2 meat 1 side combo. They didn't have burnt ends at the time, which I'm still dying to try. Instead I went with ribs and chicken with Mac and cheese. I've been getting used to bbq places bringing you small wimpy ribs, but this says two ribs on the menu it's more like three and some change they're so big. These ribs were so juicy, perfect amount of char, tons of flavor. Throw some of the table bbq to dip in and wow. Same with the chicken juicy, with a light crispy skin, and also even better with the bbq. Mac and cheese was also great. It was super cheesy and had a nice kick to it.

I ordered the brisket burnt ends and the ribs with a side of baked beans. The food came out pretty fast. The burnt ends were delicious. Tender and seasoned well I also loved the bbq sauce. The ribs were okay. They were Luke warm so they got cold pretty fast and were over cooked. I enjoyed the baked beans and they give you a hearty portion. Overall pretty good I would definitely go back to get another order of burnt ends.

Overall delicious BBQ!…read more Smoked sausage was good and tasty. Smoky with a little spicy heat. Crispy Brussel sprouts were a highlight! Soaked in a delicious sweet and flavorful sauce. Mac N Cheese was cheesy, but not soaked or water, with a good crunch with the bacon. Pulled pork would have been a little better with BBQ sauce, which I forgot to get on take out.

I really need to update my review here from 9 years ago. Central City has really upped their game…read moreover the years. They are truly one of New Orleans' only places to get BBQ from. I still love their boudin, of course, but I recently tried their smoked turkey salad! I love that they have a salad on their menu because generally, any BBQ you go to will never have a salad. And this one is really good! They aren't stingy on the ingredients either. The turkey was so juicy and I don't know how they did that, turkey is usually dry. Maybe they spatchcocked it. In any event, this juicy, moist, turkey salad was so good, I could not eat it all! It was so much food. DONT SLEEP ON THE SALAD AT A BBQ PLACE! :-D Also, mac n cheese is really good. We also ordered their meats, their brisket and pulled pork are great as well. Love their BBQ sauces. This is a side note, but I wish they would have made a second Central City BBQ when they instead did their tex mex Las Cruces. Metry has no good BBQ and I think CCBBQII would have made a killing! Keep up the fantastic work in Central City, I will be back for sure!

I am glad we didn't let that stop us from coming in because the food was not shabby. We decided to get the bbq plates (ribs/brisket and sausage/pork). Was it the best bbq I had? No but it would def hit the spot for a craving. The bbq tasted fresh and the portions were good for the price. I wasn't a fan of the sides. The beans nuh uh. The Mac was ok. The fries were decent. Overall, this place is not bad at all and small improvements could boost this place more.

Finally made it down to this BBQ spot down in the CBD, and the atmosphere and friendly customer…read moreservice did not disappoint. We were able to try a variety of meats and sides but our favorites were the beef fat fries, smoked turkey breast, pork sausage, and collard greens. The beef fat fries were well-seasoned and topped with the most unique queso cheese, while the collard greens were aromatic and extremely flavorful. That being said, the portion sizes for the meats left a little to be desired and the macaroni and cheese was a tad overcooked. Contrary to its name, there also seemed to be very little cheese in the pimento cheese grits, although the consistency of the corn was smooth and perfectly cooked. We also didn't care for the chopped brisket which was rather dry and under seasoned. The vinegary BBQ sauces were also too runny for our taste, though despite the consistency, the House BBQ sauce still packed a punch. I would've also liked to have more than just one slice of bread to balance out all the additional sides and condiments. All in all, I would definitely eat at this spot again even if it was solely for the beef fat fries or the collard greens. The meats did not impress us much but the staff was super polite and the service was quick.

The bar has four seats, and there is no host stand. I had to wait a couple of minutes to be seated because they were busy, but that was fine. I started with the complimentary amuse bouche, a duck liver crostini, and some house-made bread. The butter was lovely. There was a list of specials; one of them was a potato dish in honor of Dolly Parton. It was probably the best part of my meal. I got the three course Coolinary meal: a scallop dish, the wagyu brisket and fries, and the Krispy Kreme bread pudding. Everything was good. I loved the citrus component on the scallops, but the fries were a bit salty and the dessert was too sweet for me. I will say that I heard the people at the table next to mine rave about the bread pudding. My server, Sophie, was attentive. She offered ice cream (at no charge) to go with my bread pudding. She was also apologetic when letting me know that the kitchen was backed up. My courses still came at the perfect pace for my liking, even though they were busy. Overall, this was a great dining experience.
