Theee best shrimp on bun I've ever had. The shrimp are fried and seasoned to perfection, stuff the bun and the bread is always so soft and fresh. There usually is a wait and a line but I understand why. Do yourself a favor and order one the next time you stop by.

Im here with sad news! I went to red rooster this weekend and they changed the nacho cheese i used to drive out of my way for their nachos but now they taste like everyone else's. They aren't bad but I sure do miss the old cheese

Dropped by Red Rooster on a whim after a long walk to nearby Michaels, and got a very nice snowball. They do have sugarfree flavors--strawberry and ice cream--though they are not on the menu. Prices are great, only 1.50 for a small. Overall a cool spot that seems very popular with the neighborhood. Lots of people getting takeout meals while I sat and ate my treat.

Yummy, yummy, yummy! I don't know why I hadn't visited this place sooner. Great prices, delicious food, great service. Everything is made to order so allow time for cooking. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. I had the catfish plate which contained 3 pieces of fish, potato salad, peas, Mac and cheese and Hawaii bread for $11.75. Everything was delicious OMG!!! The snowballs and nachos were also good. I will definitely be back.

The service here was great and friendly, and it was the best Po' Boy I ever had. This place is a community staple , and I recommend everyone try their po' boy here.

Awesome snowballs would definitely return next time I'm in town. Weather was perfect to sit outside

Food is amazing . If I could give more stars I would. I asked the nice lady who took my order could I have crawfish cheese fries instead of nachos and they were able to. Would absolutely recommend. Food seasoned to perfection, fried perfectly, will be back. *also purchased a 12 oz Bahama Mama sno ball. Delicious as well. I saw most ppl Order them and add condensed milk as a topping (60 cent extra for toppings) which gives it an interesting twist. Check them out for some authentic New Orleans food.

    Nice menu!

It might be the Westbanker in me that loves a good roadside food shack, but this place is pretty legit. Came here for some grub before we started the whole house float thingy. Food was perfect! I got the cheeseburger on French and it is pretty tasty. The cheese fries is fries with nacho cheese sauce, but if you don't mind it like myself, you will enjoy yourself. Great food and pretty cheap prices equals a place I plan on going visit again.

The capers and olive oil really paired well with it. We met one of the chef-owners and she was very helpful and kind! The fried "Captain's Platter" is $35, it's worth maybe $12. It was 4 shrimp, 4 oysters, and a decent sized piece of fish, all considerably over-fried, with fairly plain coleslaw and hushpuppies that looked like they had been cooking since the shift the day before. --- I honestly couldn't believe this was brought to the table, but it seemed normal so apparently that is how it is served there. It was VERY small and fairly overcooked. The boiled crabs were mush. Decent flavor, not great. Would not recommend. The charbroiled oysters again seemed to have been cooking for 3-4 times longer than they should have. They were rubber, flavorless and unappetizing to look at. They were pretty bad. - At least they were clean. I didn't get any shell. But I also didn't get any oyster in 1 of the 6 oysters served at $18. Then we got a Sausage Poboy. The sausage was decent, but the sandwich wasn't good. WHY WOULD YOU TOAST THE BREAD? NO ONE WANTS SAUSAGE BETWEEN TWO CROUTONS. Just kind of a weird mistake that makes you wonder if anyone there has tried to eat any of their own food. Because it's not easy... Honestly 90% of the food we got there was pretty bad. But we will be back for Tostada alone. That was phenomenal. 10/10 Delicious.

It was super close to where we were staying, and since I didn't catch a seafood boil in the Quarter or anywhere else in town, I had to try this spot. My friend and I had our eyes on it, but once our Uber driver confirmed it was a bomb spot, we were all in and it did not disappoint. I even met a lady who drives 45 minutes just to get here, so if she makes that trek, you know this is the spot. I will be dreaming of this place! Being takeout-only gave it that authentic, local vibe, and I loved every bite. Unlike the typical mixed seafood boils, they bag everything separately, and I mixed it all together once I got back to my place. They have some garlic butter you can add, and I got it spicy! It definitely had a kick, and I loved it. I had a pound of shrimp, added sausage, two boiled eggs, the BOMBEST potatoes and corn, all tossed with the spicy garlic butter and I devoured it. Let me just brag on that shrimp and those potatoes for a second: both were amazing. The potatoes were cooked to perfection! Soft, not mushy, and seasoned just right. And the shrimp? Wow. I can still taste it. If you're in NOLA, you have to check this spot out! I will say one more thing though I wish I had room to try the gumbo! I would have loved to taste it here. Lastly, I didn't get to grab a po' boy in town, so we came back the next morning to try one. Sadly, the seafood section wasn't ready yet (we went around 10:30am), but the roast beef po' boy with gravy, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and maybe few other ingredients in it was incredible. I loved it! You'll definitely catch me here again next time I'm in town. 10,000/10. Thank you, cooks! A few practical things: if you're driving, there's parking. The service was friendly, prices were great, and while there isn't indoor seating, the waiting area is decent-sized. Just know it can get busy!

My best friend and I visited this restaurant while we were in New Orleans to sing background vocals…read moreat the Gospel Tent during Jazz Fest. We were hungry and expected a normal, enjoyable seafood experience, but unfortunately, the restaurant's inconsistent service policy overshadowed our visit. When our group arrived, we were told that anyone seated outside on the patio had to pay for their entire meal before the food would be served. Although that was unusual, we respected what we were told was the restaurant's policy and paid upfront without an issue. However, while eating, we noticed that other guests seated on the same patio were allowed to enjoy their meals and pay afterward. We watched several of these interactions, so it became clear that the rule was not being applied consistently. When we questioned it, we learned that our server required patio guests to pay in advance, while another server chose not to enforce that policy with their customers. That inconsistency made our group feel singled out and uncomfortable. If paying upfront is truly the restaurant's patio policy, it should be applied equally to every customer--not enforced based on which server happens to handle the table. As for the food, I tried the charbroiled crab legs for the first time, and the flavor was interesting. Unfortunately, the service issue left a much stronger impression than the meal itself. Because of that experience, I'm unsure whether I would return to this location.

A Seafood Spot We Keep Coming Back To!…read more My husband, my daughter, and I have been going to Boil Seafood House for the past few months, and so far, we've really enjoyed every visit. It's definitely become a place we keep coming back to. We usually get the seafood boil with snow crab legs, and this time we went with the medium heat and butter garlic flavor. Everything was really good and full of flavor. My husband and I got the potatoes as our sides, while my daughter got the boiled eggs. We also ordered a side of French fries to share, and let me just say... we ate those so fast that I completely forgot to take a picture! They were good! I also like the whole seafood boil experience here. They offer you a bib and gloves if you want them, which definitely comes in handy when you're getting into those crab legs. The service has been good every time we've visited, and the atmosphere is always lively. One of the coolest things happened after we had finished eating. Someone came around offering little samples for people to try, and they stopped by our table and asked if we wanted to try the soft-shell shrimp. I'm not sure if it's something new on the menu or just something they were serving as a sample, but we said yes -- and I'm so glad we did! That shrimp was delicious! It literally melted in my mouth. I'm usually not a big fan of eating anything with the shell still on, but this was so good that I didn't even mind it. Definitely not what I expected, and it was probably one of my favorite little surprises of the visit. I didn't take a ton of pictures this time, but I'll share the few that I did get. One restaurant that locals constantly recommended to me was Drago's Seafood in Metairie, and now I completely understand why. I ordered the charbroiled oysters along with the crawfish platter that came with crawfish étouffée, crawfish mac and cheese, and fried crawfish. Every single thing on the table was incredible. The charbroiled oysters absolutely lived up to the hype rich, buttery, smoky, and packed with flavor. The crawfish platter was just as impressive and gave me a chance to try multiple Louisiana dishes all in one meal. What really stood out to me beyond the food was the service. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and patient with questions from someone who isn't from Louisiana and still learning the local food scene. You can tell they take pride in both the restaurant and the hospitality. The only downside is parking can get a little complicated because the place fills up fast, which honestly says a lot about how popular it is. Just plan ahead or expect a short wait finding a spot. My bartender, Darryl, took fantastic care of me. Vibes in this place are very warm and cozy, I sat at the bar to the right of the entrance as you walk in. I had a half dozen char grilled oysters and a cup of seafood gumbo. I see why the oysters are so popular, they are a hit. Buttery and garlicky, the crusty bread they serve with them is a great compliment to soak up the sauce. I had originally intended on getting the chicken and andouille gumbo but Darryl steered me away from it, he said it was very salty. I trusted his word and went with the seafood gumbo instead and was very pleased with it. The flavors were fantastic, but I am gonna ding it ever so slightly as I think $8.99 is kind of an obscene price for that serving size, but at least it was good. Overall I'm very satisfied with my lunch and the service, I think if you like seafood and you're in their area, you should eat here. Edit - $9 for a pint is a little over the top too, imo. My "light lunch" was $42 before the tip.
