If you're looking for a unique outdoor dining spot with plenty of free street parking in the evening, try Bourree. Recently, I was craving a roast beef poboy and walked over to try theirs. It was outstanding. It came dressed with pickled purple onions and horseradish cream sauce. That, with some seasoned fries, was a great meal. I love that they partner with Dong Phuong for their bread and they use Blue Plate mayo. I've seen the Dong Phuong truck dropping off bread and king cakes so I know they're 100% keeping it local. I'm so confused about the reviews. Bourrée is... awesome. To enter, you step inside an enchanted courtyard with industrial wire spools repurposed as smart outdoor tables. There is both covered and exposed seating, however all of the seating is beneath the canopy of an elder oak tree. The landscaping is carefully homegrown with beautiful greenery and pretty flowering shrubs to greet you upon arrival. There's also a stage where you can enjoy live music. Once inside, you're greeted by welcoming staff who are proud of what they serve. The interior is modest, with nice rustic carpentry. Bourrée is to Boucherie as Cochon Butcher is to Cochon. It's a wing and daiquiri spot, but the wings are natural (read: smaller than the hormonal wings we're used to) and the daiquiris are dry, just the way I like them. Mr. Tea is my favorite of their daiquiris because sugar isn't the first thing I taste, instead I'm actually getting that antioxidental brewed tea flavor. Never thought I'd want that from a daiquiri, but as it turns out, I do. Their fries are some of my favorite in the city: shoestringy with crispy ends, the skin still on, salty, and plentiful. We also love their version of fried Brussels sprouts which taste of maple-citrus with bites of Tasso mixed in for good measure. My only gripe was with the jerk wings which didn't taste of jerk, just spicy. And if I'm being honest, the wings aren't the best of what they offer. I paid for a meal at Bourree and then posted this review but somehow Yelp keeps flagging and deleting my review even though I have attached a photo of my receipt proving that I'm reviewing an experience I paid for. This is also not to mention that I have been eating the food at Bourree for decades and I have a far longer experience in the area than Yelp has been in existence. Perhaps someone with actual reading comprehension can look at this review without deleting it AGAIN. Bourree Cajun Smokehouse is an expansion of Chef Nathanial Zimet's Boucherie Restaurant which is right at the end of the block and around the corner. The building that Bourree is currently in was an Italian restaurant for a long time that opened back in the 90's called Café Nino that was run by the owner Chef Nino who was a fantastic fellow. Café Nino was a cash only dive joint where you selected from the daily entrees on display in a cafeteria style buffet and they also had pizza. So I always have a hard time adjusting to the fact that this spot is no longer Café Nino but is now Bourree. Now I have been eating the 12 Hour Roast Beef Po'Boy with horseradish cream & pickled red onion from Chef Zimet ever since he started selling it out of his purple food truck and at many of the local festivals. These days the only festival where they still sell their food is at the Oak Street Po-Boy Festival. So if you find yourself in the mood for a fantastic 12 hour roast beef po boy on Dong Phong banh mi bread this is the spot to get it! They also have some nice daquirie and beer options here. They also offer live music at certain times of the week so make sure to check their schedule for that. There are tables inside but they don't have a lot of space inside and the majority of their seating is located in front on their wonderful outdoor patio area. The menu is a bit concise here but they do have some nice items on offer here. This is also a great venue for events and I recently attended a nice one here. Overall this is a nice spot located in a beautiful area of the Riverbend right off St. Charles Avenue and is certainly worth checking out! read more

Bourée is a quaint little smokehouse tucked away inside a gated garden. The atmosphere is fantastic, particularly on days pretty enough to take advantage of the large amount of outdoor space. I want to counter some reviews I see calling the place dirty. I've never seen it dirty. This is New Orleans. The building is old. Old does not mean dirty. It's a smokehouse that will remind you of a New Orleans dive bar inside. The daiquiris are not traditional, but they are good. They aren't 50% simple syrup and 50% liquor like New Orleans Original. The tea based daiquiri does taste like tea. If you're looking to get messed up before going out, it probably isn't for you. If you want a classy tasty take on a daiquiri, you won't be disappointed. There were 4 of us. We ordered together, same ticket. My sandwich arrived first. About 15 minutes later another person's poboy arrived. After 30 additional minutes I went inside and complained. They said the shrimp po boy takes extra time. I said that's fine but when 4 people order together their food should arrive close to the same time. About 5 minutes later one plate came. Bourree is our go to for wing takeout and they never disappoint. The wings are so fresh and flavorful as are the fries. All of their sauces are delicious. Make sure you ask for the ranch too! I have lived here for over 30 years and that was one of the worst meals I've had in this city. The hurricane daiquiri was made with bitters and when I say bitters, I mean a lot of bitters. Never had a hurricane made with bitters, but trust me you don't want to. Used to be one of my favs, but food quality has sadly gone down. Went there for lunch Aug 13, 2025. Ordered 1 brisket PoBoy, 1 boudin link, 1/2 dozen wings. While my son said the wings and boudin were good, the brisket PoBoy was disgusting. It looked like brisket soup poured into open faced PoBoy bread and tasted worse. I couldn't eat it and I've had that dish many times at Bourrée. Very disappointed and saddened. IF I ever go back I will stick with the boudin only. read more

The timeliness of receiving our order was lengthy... my friend ordered sliders and I ordered the Fried Chicken Mayo Fries with a daiquiris. Bourree has been on my list for a long time and this was a perfect time to visit since I'm only doing outdoor dining right now. I went with my niece around 4:45pm on a Friday. There was only one other guest, but things were picking up by the time we left. I loved being able to walk up to a window to order and the lady at the window was enthusiastic and eager to answer all our questions. My main reason for coming here was to try the gin and tonic daiquiri. It exceeded my expectations and I can see myself making multiple trips back for it. I ordered the pimento cheese brisket poboy. My niece ordered the boudin grilled cheese and we split an order of fries. Now this is where things get interesting! Neither of us liked our food BUT we swapped and ended up liking what the other had ordered. I think the pimento cheese brisket poboy would have been better with less meat and more cheese. They use Dong Phuong bread and it was very fresh and soft. The fries were just okay. I would return because I liked the outdoor setup and I'll need another gin and tonic daiquiri real soon. Seen this spot on an Instagram post and decided to come give them a try and was a bit disappointed. First things first the best things were the Brussels and the fresh cut fries. The spicy chicken sandwich was cooked to perfection but lacked flavor. I decided to try the wings but they were the most disappointing the sauce was watery and lacked flavor as well. I loved checking out Bourrée for dinner! They have outdoor seating with heaters/fire pits for when it's cold, and they also have live music. You order up at a counter and someone comes and brings you your food. The Buffalo Cauliflower Poboy was amazing, and I also loved the Fried Brussel Sprouts! The Pepper Jack Stuffed Boudin balls and Sweet Mango BBQ wings were good as well. They also have chargrilled oysters right now which were delicious. Nope!! This just didn't work. This was high on our list of DDD stops and I gotta tell ya.... Guy got this one wrong. This place is known for its daiquiris and the machines were all non op. The owner said it would be a few days before it would be fixed, but it looked like it's been non op for a long time. The charbroiled oysters.... should be char broiled..... not warmed in a salamander. Of all the oyster stops we made this week, this one ranks as the worst. The boudin balls were ok, but not wow. Plus, the place was dirty and very cluttered. Com'on man!! Let's get some pride in your place. I get that in an area known for great food, it's hard to compete. Another great meal at Bourree! This Cajun smokehouse is perfect for outdoor dining! Going for dinner is great because the sun is setting and it's not too hot! I tried a variety of items this visit but my favorites were the pulled pork nachos and the boudin grilled cheese! The boudin grilled cheese came with pepper jelly and it was perfect!! Literally tasted so good with the sandwich. The pulled pork nachos were also great and had a lot of meat on them! The oysters (special on fridays) were perfectly grilled and came out bubbling. Stopped by and tried a sampling of most things - the sausage, boudin balls and sandwiches were amazing!! I'll be back for the meat pies for sure! I should have take a better picture but they are hand made and freaking delicious. Right sauce pairings with everything really made all the difference! I came here due to it being spotlighted on Eater.com. It was discussed that they had great daiquiris and unfortunately that is not the experience that I had. They only had two flavors able to be ordered when I went. One was of a tea variation, but I forgot what the other one was. Either way, one tasted like really bad licorice and the other just wasn't tasty. My friends also ordered wings but we threw them all away. They looked severely undercooked, pink, and pale.
