Poor customer service. They screwed up my appointment (scheduled it for a shorter time slot than it…read moreneeded) and didn't figure it out until 2 hours before the appointment time. They charge patients a $50 cancellation fee if made less than 24 hours in advance. They denied my request for a $50 discount because they violated their own policy. Why is their time worth more than mine? I cleared my schedule for the appointment and now have to rearrange for the rescheduled appointment.

I'm going to preface my review with this - as someone with asthma, long covid and other health…read moreissues, I have been to many many doctor's appointments throughout my life, and feel like I have a good idea of what's normal and what's not. I was not happy with my experience here today. When I made this appointment a week ago as a new patient, I was *not* told to arrive 10-15 min early like many other offices request (I know this because I specifically write this down in my calendar when it's the case).  I parked 5 min before my appointment - so yes, cutting it closer than I usually do, but considering it was a suburban office with a large parking lot, I thought it'd be fine. Turns out, the entrance to the office is not what is said on Google maps, which is right next to the Petco. The entrance is actually to the left of the HomeGoods on the strip. This would've been a nice-to-know when making the appointment over the phone, but it didn't really bother me until later.  I checked my watch when I got into the elevator, and it was my appointment time of 1pm. Since I was only going up one floor, I can't have gotten to the front desk any later than 1:01pm. During check-in, there were issues with the computer while scanning my license and insurance card that the person at reception apologized for - again, this itself did not bother me at all until I was sat down in the exam room. As soon as I was sitting in the exam room (1:07pm), I was told that I would only have one of the two exams I requested when I booked the appointment, and that I had to choose between an annual skin check OR acne issues. The doctor's assistant said it was because I was late and the appointments are only slotted for 10 min. I told her that I was in the elevator at 1pm sharp, and she shook her head at me and said that couldn't be. Was she counting the time it took to check me in? I have no idea.  At the end of my appointment, I repeated my frustrations about the appointment to the doctor, and: - The doctor said that there's a 15 min grace period but they can't accommodate more than that. So even if I was 15 minutes late, shouldn't I have been able to have the full exam I booked in the first place? - Next time they would slot my appointment for 20 min so that we can address both acne and the skin check - why wasn't my appointment this time scheduled for 20 when it was known that I wanted both exams to begin with? TLDR: I'm frustrated because something really doesn't add up. I was also never made aware before my appointment that if I got to the desk at 1:01pm instead of 1pm, I would be penalized. I honestly can't even comment on the appointment or prescribed treatment itself because I feel like I was gaslit on their policies. But the few minutes with the doctor seemed fine itself, which is the only reason I'm leaving more than 1 star.

After pressing more, she said we could get another opinion. I'm so glad I did! We went to Northwestern Dermatology and it turns out it's psoriasis. We got the right medication and after just a few days it made a huge difference. I think Dr. Goldberg is knowledgeable on a surface level but for our deeper issue wasn't willing or able to find out the root cause.

Today i missed my train and could not go with my almost 18 yr old daughter to her consultation. I called, explained the situation and the receptionist was nice and sent me a Patient Consent form via email with me authorizing my daughter to be seen. The form states "I hereby grant the Physician permission to treat my child when they arrive at the office unacompanied" Furthermore, I was told her maternal grandmother could attend with her which I added her name to the consent form, though it was not required. My senior parents rushed to accompany my daughter. My daughter has a very challenging schedule with HS Sports and this visit was scheduled some time ago to accomodate that. She rushed after school to get there. She was rejected by the Office Manager and could not be seen. WHY HAVE A CONSENT FORM IF IT IS USELESS? Why ask me to fill it out? Why waste our precious time? We are done here. They lost 2 patients today because of this ineffective office management and not following their own policy. The office manager is in need of training and Dr Goldberg should review her policies and educate her accordingly or seek a staff that knows what they are doing and do not bring an attitude that was so unnecessary. It takes a village and the office staff represents the Doctor and if they cannot do so in good spirit then that is sad. This was the last straw. Moving on....

One day, I decided to overuse a specific acne product and let's just say it didn't turn out well. Those specific spots I placed the product created a deep pitted lesion which is now classified as a "boxcar" scar. My skin was irritated, texture wasnt the best, and still had active acne. My self-esteem was torn and I needed help. I called and spoke to Lucas who wanted to help me and got me in at the earliest appointment. Upon arrival, the staff was accommodating and were so helpful, respectful, and personable. They collectively made the check-in/insurance process so easy. I met the Dermatologist and his assessment was clear, concise, and provided topical and oral medication the same day. I asked multiple meticulous questions and he elucidated educational responses. He prescribed me medication for the active and hormonal acne I had, and put me on a consistent facial basis. I noticed the biggest difference in the texture of my skin and my acne went down. As far as the lesions, they are still healing, but the deeply pitted hole I made in my skin is now a month away from being even with the rest of my skin. MIND YOU, this is just a month of treatment and I've noticed a 180. The facials were done by a marvelous woman who's in Medical School I think. She's skilled, knows her stuff, and provided excellent facials tailored to my skins needs. Overall, the staff blew me away and so did the dermatologist. I recommend this office to my family and friends and I honestly never want to go anywhere else--neither should you.

The doctor, as per the reviews, may be good for others who have seen them, unfortunately Esreal who works as the admin does not glean that same level of service. If you need an office who is flexible because life happens, this is not the place for you.
