When it was explained to us that items at the top of the menu were considered appetizers because of the portion size, it was a little clearer. But we were still left guessing what was the portion size of these items. We thought we would start with the sourdough rye. It came piping warm with smoked butter. The smoked butter had a bolder taste than your typical sweet cream butter. He wanted the House Made Orecchiette which was a duck sausage but our server said it had a bit of spice but would be manageable. Thankfully, she asked the chef and reported back that it really was spicy so he changed his order to match mine which was the Seared Labelle Farm Duck Breast. Labelle Farm is where they sourced the duck. I love that they know where their food comes from! We both enjoyed the duck immensely. It came with Solo's very own farm fresh vegetables. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake with blueberry compote. Someone brought it with a candle and said, "happy birthday or anniversary." Nice that they put a candle on the cheesecake but I did say it was our anniversary on the reservation. I guess that kinda ruined it for me that she didn't bother to look what special event we were celebrating. The meal was lovely. The farmhouse setting was quaint. You hear all the footsteps of the hardwood floors whenever someone walked. My only critique was that it was VERY warm inside. There was one window that was slightly cracked open but no breeze was felt. It was so warm that we had to ask for ice in our water. I think our meal would have been more enjoyable if we weren't sweating our way through dinner. I guess 18th century farmhouses didn't have air conditioning.

They'll help you navigate the massive menu with many options. If you're dining in they'll bring your orders to your table. I picked thin rice noodles with spicy miso broth and pork belly. I also asked for most of the free toppings and the free hard boiled egg. The pork belly turned out to be a fatty cut. That was on me. Next time, I'll order BBQ pork l,instead. As for that "spicy" broth, they mean it. Next time, I'll also ask for a little less heat in my broth. Still, was a delicious meal which was prepared just for me. I added a large Lycee slushie to my order. It was pretty good but too large. I have to go medium next time. I couldn't finish the meal. I took it home and ate it again for breakfast the next day (I have a cast iron stomach and can eat spicy breakfasts). If this business is part of a chain where are the other restaurants? The manager said most are on Long Island. The Castleton restaurant is the only one in the Capital Region and the restaurant is largely a family-run operation. It's clean, bright, very modern and cute. There's cute wall art. Some illuminated. Others are wallpaper depicting food, pandas and the Chinese god of wealth. This is one of those places with a menu so large that you can keep coming back and not have the same meal twice.

Hilariously enough, the only time she seemed to care about us was when we left and she went RUNNING after us to ask us "you did not tip enough, did I do something wrong?" in a rude and fake overly concerned way. After we briefly explained, she proceeds to loudly shame us saying "you supposed to tip me xyz because I provide you a service and if not you're really disrespectful". The audacity.
