    Veal Parm

When we arrived at this restaurant we were seated promptly and were shown great attention by our waitress. The folks (presumably the owners) behind the counter could not have been friendlier. We had several veal dishes and one salmon entree. The brandy sauce was delicious and the red sauce on the veal parmigiana was satisfactory. Although the pasta was not homemade, it was cooked properly and paired well in the dishes we ordered. The prices were beyond reasonable. This restaurant is quite a value and is a nice stop for a quick Italian fix.

This evening, we had dinner at this restaurant. This was our first time eating at this restaurant. We arrived late 8 pm. We didn't know that it was closing. But they were kind enough to let us stay and dine in. There were still dining customers in the restaurant. Carolina was our waitress. Such a nice person. She offered us water and bread. Soon after we ordered our dinner. We were not rushed at all. We ordered calamari. It was excellent. We had salad and balsamic vinegar dressing. Both the salad and dressing were fresh and tasty. My son ordered Rosa sauce with gnocchi, my husband ordered the shrimp special and I ordered the chicken Marsala. All our entries arrived hot in temperature and tasted good. I highly recommend this Italian restaurant.

Great local BYOB. First timer here. Casual atmosphere. The bruschetta was complimentary which was a nice touch. Everything was absolutely delicious from the bruschetta and mussels to the arancini and main dishes. Some of the best arancini I've ever had. Service was direct and to the point. Seems like they get a lot of repeat customers so that's a good sign. We will definitely be back!

    Fettuccini Alfredo!

Came here on a Friday night and it was packed! We came for a 45th anniversary and though they weren't serving pizza in the dining room (due to the Friday night take out rush), they accommodated us and made the evening special. The bruschetta to start was amazing! We ordered the veggie pizza, Margherita pizza (both very good!), and the fettuccini alfredo was the highlight of the meal followed by the melt-in-your-mouth NY cheesecake! Our server was so sweet and had an authentic Italian way about her! Highly recommend this hidden gem of a restaurant!

The service was quite quick and fantastic. They were so attentive to us and made sure everything was fine while also being super friendly. We got the Chicken parm and the seafood pasta. The chick parm was so delicious and the filling. The seafood pasta was loaded up with clams and mussels and the fettuccine was cooked al dente like I like. We also got oysters and calamari which was also delicious. The calamari has Brussel sprouts which were crispy. We will return in the future

We had heard about La Voglia and decided to try it out! We went on a Friday evening and it wasn't…read moretoo crowded. The restaurant has a warm feel to it and is decorated nicely. They serve a delicious homemade bread that's warm when it's brought the table. In addition, it's accompanied by a dish of olive oil, with balsamic vinegar and what I believed to be a spicy dusting of pepper. It was a little too spicy for me - however, I did like the addition of the balsamic as a change from just olive oil. I would skip the pepper though, unless you like spice. We ordered the Polpette as an appetizer; it's a 'tradition' of mine. If meatballs are on the menu, I will always order them. These lamb, veal and beef meatballs were very good, and the marinara sauce they came in was excellent! The sauce is actually a 'roasted pomodoro' gravy - which is an 'intensified' version of a classic Italian sauce. It's made by roasting the tomatoes at a very high heat and almost caramelizing them. A little feta was added to the sauce, which really highlighted those meatballs!! We split the order - as 5 meatballs is quite a large appetizer! We decided to share two entrees - the Beef Short Ribs and the Lobster Ravioli. I always ask if the short ribs are lean - our server responded they were very lean...and they were. Soft, tender and very flavorful large chunks of beef, with a deliciously rich gravy with mushrooms on a bed a creamy garlic mashed potatoes! It was a superb dish! The website said the Short Ribs were the restaurant's most popular meal. Next, the Lobster Ravioli. The dish was a very 'delicate' one, with a very subtle brandy cream sauce. It had chopped jumbo shrimp and peeled cherry tomatoes with the raviolis. While the sauce tasted fine, it needed 'something' - we added pepper which helped. The raviolis were good - we couldn't taste lobster in the cheese of the raviolis - we assumed it was there. The chopped shrimps though provided a nice additional seafood flavor. I like my raviolis tender - the kind that almost melt in your mouth. The pasta here was firmer - a little more 'al dente', but it was fine. We ended our meal with the Chocolate Mousse. Served in a martini glass, the mousse had a velvety texture with a deep dark chocolate flavor. It was very rich yet light and fluffy; a good choice for dessert!

If none of those appeal to you, your only alternative is to choose a pasta with a standard sugo (tomato sauce). There are also a couple of sandwich options, but those are limited as well. There's little to no flexibility--if it's not on the menu, they're not likely to accommodate substitutions or custom requests. That said, the two young men I encountered were both professional and not snarky at all in relaying the limitations. It was what it was. I went with rigatoni in sugo, topped with grated Parmesan. The pasta was excellent--perfectly al dente, and the sauce had great flavor and consistency. Authentic and well-prepared. That said, the downsides are hard to ignore. The portion was relatively small, and with a bottle of Italian soda, the total came to $22.58--closer to $30 with tip. There's also no complimentary bread. Focaccia is available for $5, but it didn't look particularly appealing (a bit dark and overly crisp), though I didn't try it. Pros: * Delicious, authentic Italian pasta * Perfect texture and well-balanced sauce * Clean, attractive trattoria setting Cons: * Very limited menu (pasta and a few sandwiches) * No customization or flexibility * Price feels high for the portion size * No complimentary bread Overall, a tasty experience, but the limited menu and value may not work for everyone.

The food had both highlights and disappointments: * Lobster Ravioli: Tasted very good, although the portion was small. The sauce was flavorful and enjoyable. * Cioppino: This was the standout dish of the evening. It was loaded with delicious seafood, and while the pasta was slightly overcooked, it was still a very good meal. * Penne alla Vodka: The sauce was delicious and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the pasta was overcooked, but we still enjoyed the dish overall. * Caprese Salad: This was disappointing. The mozzarella balls tasted like they came straight from a container, the tomato wedges were not ripe, and instead of fresh basil there was a dark green paste-like topping. It did not taste fresh. * Chicken Parmigiana: This was the weakest dish we tried. The chicken was neither crispy nor particularly tender or flavorful, and the penne pasta was very soft and overcooked. Bread with olive oil was provided, but salads were not included and had to be ordered separately. Overall, this is a decent restaurant with excellent service and some very flavorful dishes, but consistency in the food and pasta preparation could be improved.
