My husband and I got cheese steaks and it was literally a bread sandwich. The American cheese slices weren't even melted into the meat. Literally no meat.

Average tasting food at best. Nothing special. The cheesesteaks had no cheese! Why do you call them cheesesteaks? The meat was the cheap imported kind that needs to be chopped into thousands of pieces just be made edible due to the large amount of gristle present. But at least it was not spoiled/rancid like that served at many competing shops. The sausage grinder did have cheese and was somewhat tasty although certainly not enough so to warrant the $13 price tag. The pizza is super salty and has canned tomatoes in the sauces, so the pizza has that metallic taste that you got from school cafeteria pizza. Yuck! The service is slower than a dead snail swimming in frozen molasses. Some of the waitresses are arrogant and rude. The prices are higher than a nuclear powered kite. I remember eating here as a kid. Nothing seems to have changed including the flavor of the foods. Again, nothing special. But at least the food is not as old and rotting as it is at much of the competition.

We order led from here a few times for work. The 1st time we order 5 pizzas to deliver to the local Police department at Thanksgiving time. The 2nd time we order our meals for our work Holiday party. Both times they were very accommodating and efficient. The food was ready for pickup early both times and was still hot and fresh. They were extremely friendly and willing to take on the large orders. We will continue to order from them for work and even personally (even though I don't live near them). Thank you so much for the great service and food.

I love this place! It's not gourmet, it's just a really great pizza/Italian place where you can bring your family. I've come for dinner once and taken the kiddos for pizza lunch multiple times. I enjoy this over smaller places because I get waited on in a comfy cozy restaurant and I don't feel like I'm in a dive. I like lunch time here. It's not too busy and the pizza is hot and fresh. Fresh fresh fresh. I hope it's fresh...otherwise I sound like a derp! DERP! No, it's good. I am picky about pizza and I keep coming back, so there you have it. They have TVs dedicated to sports but I don't ever feel like I'd be over-run with fanatics. I'd say the ratio of generational clientele is fairly matched, which makes it a great "family" restaurant. The cheese pizza runs you around $12 for a large (or $1.75 per slice) but it's worth it. Flavors are great, cheese & crust have the perfect respected textures. The Caesar salad was fresh and plentiful, but I probably wouldn't order it again simply because I didn't care for the dressing and the chicken looked like my mom pan-browned it....but it WAS fresh and I did finish my plate. I also recommend the white clam pasta and the cheese steaks served on perfectly soft rolls. Yum! They do serve coffee (for moms like me who somehow made it to lunch without getting a chance to get some coffee) It wasn't very strong, but it'll get you through. Alternately, they also serve beer and WINE. Yes....the first quarter page of the menu tempts you with grapes and bottles. You're welcome. Pay at the counter when you're done and yes they take fantastic plastic. The End.

The important thing though, is that I finally went there today and got a cheesesteak with fried onions. The first thing I did when I got home was weigh it. 2.3 lbs of cheesesteak goodness. Naturally, the enormity of the thing comes at a cost: $19.10 out the door. Being honest, I don't know what started this trend of "more food than you can possibly eat", but it's "a thing" now, so what can you do? Buy it, and share or save half for later. But, back to the steak. I'd say the closest competitor that I'm aware of would be High Steaks in Ambler, but in terms of meat to cheese ratio and flavor, I'm giving Verona the edge. In fact, I'd say it's the best or tied with the best cheesesteak I've ever eaten, and I'm old - so that's saying a lot. So we've got a great a steak that will easily serve two, a friendly staff, and prices within the realm of what you'd expect for August 2026. In addition to those tangible things, I take some joy in seeing that the choke hold once around the wallets of locals by that other place that shares it's name with it's location, has finally been broken. Competition is a great thing, and when you're greeted with a smile and a "thank you" that accompanies your order, that makes a huge difference, and is very refreshing. Overall: Delicious cheesesteak, friendly service, and they seem to appreciate that you're giving them your business. That's an A+ in my book.

Good call because one square was the perfect amount for dinner. And now we have a few meals to heat up for the next few days. The drinks were excellent and the pizza was outstanding. Great flavor. Our server Ally was welcoming and friendly and top notch on service. It is the middle of winter so we weren't considering outside dining, but they have a great outdoor space near the street. Looks like a fun place to hang out. It's definitely a place we'd consider visiting again.

Unfortunately, after my most recent visit 8/16/25, I can honestly say I will not be returning. After our meal, already in our vehicle the owner approached us accusing my two kids -- my son (18) and my daughter (16) -- of stealing a salt and pepper shaker from the table. To make matters worse, this accusation was repeated by the waitress, as if it were fact. As a parent, I know my children, and I know they would never take something that doesn't belong to them, let alone something as small as a table ornament, and especially not in front of me. What upset me the most was how quickly they jumped to accuse my kids without any proof or even giving us the benefit of the doubt. After supporting this restaurant for so long, it was disappointing and hurtful to have my family treated this way. I expected a family-friendly environment where customers are respected, but instead we were made to feel uncomfortable and wrongly judged. I'm not writing this out of anger but out of genuine disappointment. This experience left a very sour impression, and I cannot see myself coming back. Respect works both ways, and unfortunately, Giuseppe's has lost my trust as a customer. Here is a picture of what the ornament may look like it sits on the table holding the salt and pepper with a little pizza man holding a pizza. After this experience the Tip I gave the waiter should have been returned to me but I leave things in Gods hands.

The quality that they provide every single time I step foot into that establishment is unparallel. Don Cheech's steak has the perfect ratio of cooper sharp to ribeye to the fried onions. The tender seeded roll is a fantastic touch to an already great sandwich. Another thing to point out is that the value of this place is insane. Right now Don Cheech's steak sits at $16.00 including tax. If you compare that to Angelos pizzerias "Cheesesteak" which is $21.06 including tax for an arguably inferior meal is mental. The service at Café Carmella is always personalized to you. They almost always take the time out of their day to recommend you something based on what else you have ordered which is extremely helpful if your indecisive. It was superior to the parmigiana dinner platter, whose chicken was a bit dry due to being so thinly malleted and uncovered from lack of a fuller spoonful or two of red gravy. The Rigatoni was also in limited supply on the plate, but did hold the vodka blush well, which was pretty good. I saw reviews for New Village Pizza and Grill and I said to myself there is no way that the pizza is this good. Of course, I had to find out for myself and see if those 4.7 stars was legit instead of living vicariously through the Yelp reviews and pictures. Ordering is pretty easy through their site and I went with a small mushroom, pepperoni, sausage, and extra cheese pie along with some wings. Ok, the reviews were correct. The pizza was very good. Pizza is subjective and different flavors are preferred all over, but I think this will hit the spot for any pizza lovers. It was a nice buttery crust but not greasy and so glad there was an even amount of ingredients. At times you get way more of one ingredient than the rest and there is just an imbalance in the flavor like they have an overstock of one ingredient they need to get rid of. The wings were ok but wish they had a bit more kick in the buffalo sauce. When looking at the menu this place has it all. When I say all, I am talking about burgers, grinders (hoagies), pasta, seafood, quesadillas, chicken sandwiches, gyros, and I am sure if you ask for something not on the menu they can hook it up for you. If in the area again I will be partaking on another trip and stopping there again. A solid four stars.
