This small restaurant has a lot of charm and ambiance. Two of us ordered the lasagna. I really liked mine, especially the sauce. The other person didn't care for it. Chicken Piccata and Vardy Pasta were the other two entrees and were enjoyed. If you have anyone in your group who uses a wheelchair, I do not recommend going to Nonna Maria's. Navigating through the two doors, around the hostess stand and to a table is a challenge. Everything is very tight and close together. I am glad she didn't need to use the restroom. It would have required asking people seated at the bar to get up and then the hallway to the restrooms had chairs obstructing the path of anyone in a wheelchair. What a hidden gem!! I've lived here for 50+ years and just recently discovered this ( thanks Yelp!!). Easy parking and a cozy yet comfortably spaced atmosphere. The staff were all so friendly and our waiter was awesome!! But the food is what matters and everything from appetizers to dessert was well prepared and on point. The wine prices weren't ridiculously marked up either. We can't wait to go back but it's really small so will make a reservation well in advance. read more

Food was great and so was service, but that's where the pros stop. Here's the cons; My kids split an entree and they charge an extra $16 more to split it, had I known I would have done it, also charged us to upgrade our side salad and charged us a credit card fee. My wife did not like her drink. We asked them to take it off the bill. Not a big deal considering we had a $200 bill and it was 1 drink. The waitress has a terrible attitude about it and to top it off the manager on the way out tries to apologize and I told him it's ok we just didn't need the attitude when celebrating our wedding anniversary and he told me that's it's ok if we never come back and they don't need our business. Cute little place with a quaint atmosphere. It does get very noisy though and you can barely hear the person sitting next to you. The service was slow and definitely not up to snuff. The food was bland and had little flavor especially the short rib tortellini - zero taste. The best part of the meal was the bread and butter. Hubby and I went for his bday dinner. The place is small but very cozy. I think most who comes here is mostly a local and a regular. The waiters refer to the customers by first name and know their usual orders. It's super cute vibe, simple dishes but has to be the best chicken Alfredo I've ever had. Ambiance! Over the top! I'd be glad to pay 20 bucks for a glass of pop, just to experience an evening in this cozy off the beaten path gem! I can't think of another place in the area that produces a feel like Nona Marias. You might even get tricked into assuming you're in Italy. There's just a handful of tables which are surrounded by an attentive staff who will assert your evening will be memorable for all the right reasons. Dinners include fresh bread, soup or salad. I can't recommend a specific dish because they're all good. Order what you like best and it will be the best. I usually have Pennes from Heaven which is Pasta with a kick served with chicken and Shrimp, spinach sun dried tomatoes and more! But I tried Lasagna on my last visit. Wow! I can't believe I did not know this place existed, right in my own backyard. Small intimate and very romantic location right across from Market Square. Attended a friends birthday party. 10 girls, we were a handful but our waitress was very patient and accommodating. She even split our bills down to some appetizers shared. I had the sea bass and a glass of Chianti. The fish was perfection and literally melted in my mouth. Highly recommend for a special night out. read more

The appetizers are amazing!! You must get the spiedini. Bread and melted mozzarella cheese in a lemon butter sauce with chopped olives. It's worth the splurge. The dinners were delicious and a nice portion. We had a shrimp & scallop fettuccini. It was delicious. Oh, and try and save room for dessert. I ordered a carryout (COVID-indoors closed) dinner treat for my mother's 81st birthday, (and my step dad), because one thing she truly enjoys is a great spiedini and it's difficult to find! (and I ordered one for myself as well!) It comes with a wonderful lemon sauce and is a palm-sized portion ($14) and is quite rich so you will NOT need more than that! (if you're also eating an entree) I also ordered a sausage and peppers ($15) and an eggplant parmigiana ($24), which came with a vegetable soup (or salad, your choice) and a good hunk of bread. The spiedini, sausage, soup and parmigiana were enough for the 2 of them for dinner and another meal the next day. So I thought that was great for $54 plus tax and tip and they felt quite special. My mom reported that the eggplant parm was NOT greasy at all, very thinly sliced and lightly breaded so that she could drop a thin knife right down the middle. (she HATEs if it is cut too thick and ends up chewy) There was also a side of penne with it, which I did not expect but really made her happy so good job throwing that in!!! Dad ate the sausage and peppers so fast that the rest of us do not know how great it was but we will take his word for it. It was super easy to place the online order, pull up and call them and he brought it right out. We will be ordering again soon and I ca not wait for next week when we can actually get inside in some capacity? (though I am certain very limited due to space available) I would certainly recommend a meal here for anyone's special night- there aren't many of these family, personal touch restaurants left around! read more

SUPERB. Just ordered carry out last night and the owner, Dan, was on point! Honestly, it tasted as good as having it served while dining in. Unfortunately, since we are not able to do so, The carry out was the next best thing and it was better than any Italian I've had (as a carry out) since COVID restrictions were instituted. I highly recommend supporting this business as they are providing really great tasting food in a difficult environment. I cannot wait to visit and dine-in. See you soon Dan! I really want a local place to succeed but they've got to be good. Our chicken piccata was by far the least flavored piccata I've ever had. The chicken was NOT breaded rather broiled and light tan. My husband's filet was good but here was some odd sauce on top (think Salisbury steak from hungry man dinner). The calamari and spidini were amazing! Very good! I wish the main dishes were better. Decent Italian if you live in the area. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. I ordered two pasta dishes to go. I ordered a shrimp Alfredo and the Penne Heaven dish. The Alfredo dish was blah and the Heaven pasta was overly salty (almost unbearable), it needed another cup of pasta added to cut the salt. I may try it again to give it another shot. read more
