If you like COLD prime rib, this is the place for you. While they offer a spectacular deal, $16.95 prime rib Sunday, It came out cold and would not even melt butter. This is unacceptable. The chefs couldn't care less about what they put out. Maybe they could use an infra-red thermometer to verify proper temperature. Also our server (Axxxx) was not at all personable. Right to the point, no introduction, short and annoying. We'll try again but I hope the owner reads my comments because I know he cares about his two restaurants. Probably the best service I've had ever. They were attentive and actually nice not fake. My mom has been dying to come here for ages because they have a Sunday prime rib special for 15 bucks. You can't get a chicken finger dish elsewhere for less than that!!!! Look at this chunk of perfect meat. I'm so impressed with the service and will absolutely be back. I asked for my side of salad to be on the side with dressing on the side because I didn't want to fill on salad. When the waitress saw I wasn't eating it she brought me over a box without my asking. We had a lovely waitress but that's not enough. The restaurant smelled like old fish. Our food looked great but nothing had flavor. You have to season food before you cook it. Been here many, many times. Before they were Nonnies, I really like them. Loved, actually. Haven't had a really good meal here since I can remember though and actually, the last few meals have been terrible. My Caprese salad was absolutely awful. The mozzarella cheese was a horrible flavor, the balsamic really bad tasting, plus there was no basil, the tomatoes thin and flavorless, tasted old.... the lettuce limp and just wasn't good. My pasta was overcooked with about a tablespoon of sauce that was absolutely disgusting, acidic, nasty sauce. This is an Italian restaurant, You need good sauce. The mashed potatoes are also instant. That's not acceptable. The service is extremely slow and I doubt we will be back for a very long time. Too bad, it's very local to us. read more

We were in the area of Lyonville so we decided to stop in and check it out. There were no seats at the bar so we sat at a hightop in the bar area which was perfectly fine. We know Lyonville is the sister restaurant of Grille 58 and we enjoy their food. I ordered a seafood and pasta dish and it came with alfredo sauce and i asked if they could change it to a scampi sauce instead and they had no problem with my request. My other half ordered steak tips which he really enjoyed his dish and the prices of both dishes was very reasonable, less than $20. The wine is very good and very affordable, approximately $6 a glass and a good sized glass. The only downside was the waitress spilled my other halfs wine all over him and his white-ish shirt. She said, oh send me the bill, kidding of course. What would have been nice if we got a "free" glass of wine but nope, we ordered 4 glasses of wine and we paid for four glasses of wine. Not a big deal, especially due to the price of the wine but still it would have been nice. BTW, we came home and put shout on the white shirt and crisis averted, the wine came out! We saw they had bar pizza which looked good. Some night when we are just looking for a low-key night, we may go there for pizza and a wine (in a non spillable) glass! read more

Our waitress was very nice. However, the food was not. I was served slimy lobster and the manager( I assume the waitress got her) told me it's not possible it came off the boat today. Maybe the boat had been lost at sea but that lobster was rancid. She went to go check with the kitchen and never returned, but the waitress did tell me fit was in fact slimy. First the positive: great place to have a drink with the locals, nice size bar with a lot of seating. Negative: I sat at the bar and ordered Eggplant Parmigiana (this is an Italian restaurant) the eggplant was so hard I needed a steak knife to cut it, the pasta was over cooked. One would think an Italian rest could cook both, absolutely the worst ever. When I told the bartender, she said she was "sorry" and she asked if I wanted to take it home! It was the entire dinner with maybe three bites taken out of it. On my way out I was asked again if everything was OK? I said no I sent it back, and again "sorry". Btw no one offered to take the dinner off my bill. Do NOT recommend. read more

I Visited tonight with my wife as we have in the past. We sat at the bar as we always do. The female bartender did not have a clue about tending bar. We waited forever to put in a drink order. As those drinks were depleted we waited again to reorder as she chit chated with anyone and everyone sitting at the bar. The male bartender a guy in his fifties wearing eye glasses ran his ass off. He was trying to fill drink orders , take food orders, cash people out, and running food from the kitchen as many at the bar were trying to flag him down for service. He basically was a one man band as the young lady socialized. I was expecting "John Taffa and the Bar Rescue Crew" to come in the front door at any minute. He should have at least a kitchen food runner. We recognized her as a waitress from your sister restaurant. That might be her niche. Promote the male bartender to bar manager and bring back Zack on Sundays as it is probably your busiest day? We will be back because the food is good, but service should be is job one. . read more

I had an okay experience at this restaurant, the food was decent for the price I paid for the meal I received. But I didn't write this review for the food or the good service. But it was the environment that shocked me. I witnessed a young woman being yelled at by an older lady ( presumably the manager) about money missing from a drawer. Yes I understand how missing money can be an issue in a place of business. But it's not okay to yell at someone who's just trying to do there job, but instead this lady chose to not only cause commotion, but embarrass the young woman who was working. Have had a couple meals from nonnies. This meal and Service had to be the worst. Took over an hour to receive rubbery grey veal piccata from a strung out waitress just to receive in return a dry overly salted chicken piccata in return. I also ordered the mussels appetizer, they were clearly from a frozen package. Owners have paid off local people to take down their posts about how the bar is not accessible to an exit in the event of a fire. Straight up fire hazard in that building. read more

I had lunch here yesterday. I arrived at 1 pm and there was hardly any customers. I ordered the chicken marsala for lunch along with a side vegetable and a glass of water. The person I ate with ordered the lasagna. The waitress was very sweet. Our meals came and the portions were large. The chicken marsala had absolutely no flavor. I brought half home and added a few seasonings but that didn't help. The mushrooms were skimpy. My relative said her lasagna was good. The cost for my lunch (including tax and tip) came to $31.00. I was charged extra for the side vegetable. No bread nor rolls. I guess those days are gone. I will not be going back. I am kicking myself for not complaining. Also the atmosphere is very dark and gloomy. I don't usually leave comments but after eating what I brought home, I felt I had to leave an honest review. read more

So sad. I've been here dozens of times. And the food has always been good. Tonight we ordered two orders of baked haddock. The fish smelled like ammonia. Obviously this is bad fish. Whoever received the fish at the restaurant from the vendor should not have excepted it. The bad fish is not the reason why I am giving this restaurant only one star. When we sent the fish back, the owner and chef, Dave. Refused to sell us a replacement meal. He basically kicked us out. This was a really bad business decision on his part. We've only been to this restaurant twice, it's the sister restaurant to Grille 58 in Halifax, we were go often...We went on Sunday twice for their Prime Rib @14.95, A+++++quite a nice piece, it's excellent. We are recent transplants to the Halifax/Hanson area. There is a lack of restaurants here, though to be fair my wife and I lived in NYC ( so we're spoiled). Regardless, the Lyonville is a great food place. The service is quick, the food is good , and the staff is really on the ball. Recently, the place has been getting back to "normal" with the eat in aspect of the business. Its got a good atmosphere and the beer is cold.. Stop by if you have the chance. read more
