The corn risotto was the PERFECT dish. I've never had a risotto quite like it. Patio had a bad smell next to the street and service was a little overbearing. It felt like they were watching every move...but the food was delicious.
Walking into Rosetta is like transporting into time, it is inside a beautiful French colonial house that is extremely well taken care of. The food is a mix of Mexican and Italian and it was delicious but I do think it was a bit overpriced compared to other places in the area. The white mole was sooo good and the first time I've ever seen a mole that is white. The pasta was delicious, kind of like a ravioli with delicious mushrooms and a really nice light white sauce. The snapper was excepcional and melted in my mouth. All of this and two glasses of wine were $200 USD.
Rosetta is a 1 star Michelin rated restaurant and is ranked #46 on the list of the World's 50 Best Restaurants. It reinterprets traditional Mexican dishes in an intimate villa setting with several dining rooms spread across 3 floors. Portions are on the smaller side here. Agua piedra nat 650 - (95 MXN = $5.51) - Bottled water was expensive but they do offer complimentary filtered water. Chicatana Centeno - (275 MXN = $15.94) - This consisted of rye sourdough and chicatana ants butter. The butter itself was a little nutty. While the bread was good, the price was not warranted. Tamalito Huitlacoch - (320 MXN = $18.55) - This dish came with 2 corn and huitlacoche tamales with smoked cream. It was a unique smoky, and earthy dish. I hadn't had tamales quite like this. Taco col pipian -(315 MXN = $18.26) - These savory cabbage tacos came with a pistachio pipian and romeritos. It was almost like a pistachio mole, rich, and creamy. Triangoli ricotta - (430 MXN = $24.93) - This pasta dish consisted of ricotta triangles, with a strong citrus and fennel flavoring. The pasta was prepared al-dente. Risotto betabel - (420 MXN = $24.35) - This visually stunning risotto dish was prepared with beet risotto, radicchio and Chiapas cheese. It tasted as good as it looked! Costilla chip cala - (785 MXN = $45.50) - This tender short ribs dish was served with butternut squash and provided for some relief from the menu that was predominately vegetarian. Huachinango romes - (605 = $35.02) - This red snapper dish was crispy and flaky on the outside while it was tender on the inside. Served with green romesco and bok choy accompaniments it tasted great. Overall, I was hoping to have more meat dish offerings here, the menu was extremely limiting in this regard. While most of the dishes were unique and visually stunning, I felt some were over priced compared to other places I tried in Mexico City that were of a similar caliber.
This restaurant was highly rated on the Michelin Guide, however I thought that the food was just alright. It didn't blow my socks off like I expected. I've had much better tasting Italian restaurants that were in the Michelin Guide. Service was great. Our server was very attentive and made several recommendations. The vibe of the restaurant is really cool. There is a tree planted in side, giving the restaurant an outside feel, inside.
My friend was extremely excited to try this restaurant as it came very highly recommended. Out of everywhere we ate in CDMX and Oaxaca I would say this place was midrange. They try very hard to be very high end but the flavors just weren't there. Afterwards we went down the street and had a taco with more flavor in it. Sometimes the foams and making the presentation using tweezers doesn't make up for the lack of flavor. Service was great though!
This did not hit the spot for us. Portions were tiny for its price. I thought the food was mediocre , nothing outstanding. Service didn't meet the expectation considering it's a Michelin star restaurant. Great ambiance though especially the indoor patio area. Bathroom is nice. Located on the busy street in Roma Norte
Really great! Beautiful space and delicious food. We got to sit outside where there were heaters; the plants, lights, and warmth made for such a pretty and cozy dinner. The service was good as well. We tried the cabbage tacos, which were EXCELLENT - the wrapping was actually made out of cabbage and the pistachio pipian inside was super tasty. Went well with the free bread that came at the start of the meal :). I also tried the veggie minestrone, which was the most unique minestrone I've ever had. A green broth was added to a bowl of raw veggies when it was served, making it a soup/salad situation. It was tasty though. We had the gnocchi, which was melt in your mouth yummy, and the tamal with smoked beans which was dense, but tasty. For dessert we had the tres leches, which was some of the best tres leches I've ever had (had notes of what reminded me of pecan sandies). Last, but not least, I tried the fermented lemonade, peach flavor, which was interesting...not too sweet or sour but made for a nice accompaniment to dinner. Definitely recommend and would love to go back!
Can you believe a Michelin star restaurant for about $100 USD per person? And the best thing there was the guava Negroni. Maybe the most amazing cocktail I've had. The ambiance is "busy European bistro" with the cutest kitschy plates. See pic! They have an amazing gluten free selection. Almost all of their desserts are gluten free. I definitely recommend this bargain Michelin star option.
This was one of the best meals we had in Mexico City! Rosetta is Elena Reygadas' flagship restaurant. Her cuisine is based on respect for Mexican ingredients from small producers and is an à la carte menu that changes according to the seasonality of the products with a strong emphasis on the vegetable world. Rosetta seeks to promote a diet that is beneficial to human health that does not harm the environment. In 2023 Rosetta was selected as one of the 50 best restaurants in the world according to 50 Best. In 2024 it was awarded a Michelin star. Also, the restaurant is located in a 100 year old historic building that is stunning!! This particular night was pre planned for us by Modern Adventures so our meal tonite was representative of the Chefs ability but maybe not what you would find on the menu daily. However, the entire experience was spectacular from start to finish! Our servers came over immediately to bring water and offer us white or red wine. Since our menu was preplanned they started us with a Huitlacoche tamale, and Chicatana Ant Butter and Rye Sourdough!! ( I personally have never eaten ants before!!) followed up by the most interesting but tasty "taco". I say taco because it was a pistachio pipitan wrapped in a leaf of savoy cabbage that you roll up to eat. Next up was the main course of Sea Salt and Herb Crusted SeaBass with Samphire Sauce ( similar in taste to asparagus) alongside a citrus salad... absolutely outstanding!!!
Rosetta offers truly delicious food, and the service was attentive and friendly throughout my meal. The quality of the dishes definitely lives up to its reputation. However, two things left me disappointed. First, I was seated in the patio, and a fly fell into my beer. I informed my waiter, but nothing was done about it. Instead of replacing the beer or offering any solution, I had to ask for a spoon so I could remove the fly myself. For a Michelin-starred restaurant, that was very surprising and disappointing. The second issue was the inconsistency in the service. I noticed that the table next to me received a detailed explanation of every dish that was served, while at my table some dishes were explained and others were simply placed in front of me without any description. I had to ask what I was being served, which made me feel somewhat overlooked and excluded. Despite the excellent food and otherwise friendly service, I left with a bad impression. At a Michelin-starred restaurant, I expected more attention to detail and better handling of situations like these. A small gesture, such as replacing a beer with a fly in it, would have made a big difference.

Not flashy for the sake of it, just really thoughtful cooking where the ingredients actually get to speak. The seasoning was dialed in across the board, which is usually where places like this can miss, but they didn't. Everything tasted clean, balanced, and precise. Technique was clearly there, but never forced. Nothing felt overworked or trying too hard to impress. It's the kind of meal where you realize halfway through that you're just enjoying everything without overanalyzing it. Wine list deserves a callout too. Really well curated, with options that pair naturally with the food instead of overpowering it. This is one of those spots that doesn't try to wow you with intensity. It wins you over with restraint and execution. And when it's done this well, that's more impressive. Would absolutely go back.
It was my husband's and my 14-year anniversary, so we figured we'd hit up at least a Michelin star restaurant while in Mexico City. I made dinner reservations at Rosetta for 9pm on a Wednesday. The restaurant contacted me via WhatsApp to confirm my dinner reservations. We arrived on time and were seated right away. The restaurant was located in a beautifully old building. My husband said it reminded him of Rainforest Cafe with all the greenery. Interestingly, I felt that the earthiness matched the vibe of the food. Overall service was excellent. Our server was highly attentive, and food came out incredibly fast. We ordered the cabbage tacos to start, which was not what I expected. The tacos were made from blanched cabbage, so they had a nice firmness. Loved the creamy green sauce. My husband's flank steak was amazing. It was perfectly tender and flavorful. I had a bite of the smoked beans, which was unique. I enjoyed my Pappardelle with duck and an herb that reminded me of mint. The sauce had a rich umami flavor because of the duck. I hate to say this, but I did not feel well after eating at Rosetta. I had to immediately leave dinner without sticking around for dessert because I needed to use the bathroom badly. I was informed later from a guest on a tour that he heard about people getting sick from the food at Rosetta. So my feeling unwell wasn't a fluke!
Rosetta was a highlight of our trip to Mexico City. The space is stunning--romantic, warm, and full of character--and the service was spot-on the whole night. The food was unforgettable. The corn tamales might be one of the best things I've ever eaten. The gnocchi was a bit too pungent with the Gorgonzola for me but we loved the tagliatelle with Italian sausage. For dessert, both the poached pears and the fresh herbs with rosemary ice cream were unique, refreshing, and the perfect way to end the meal. We also spotted a few tables ordering the sea bass baked in sea salt, which looked phenomenal--definitely on the list for next time. If you're looking for a truly memorable dining experience in Mexico City, Rosetta is a must.

Avoid! We were walking the area without reservations and decided to try Rosetta. Since we've been to the city a few times and loved the Rosetta Panadería. We decided to try the restaurant. I've done quite a few Michelin or James Beard restaurants, and I must say the service was far from what it should be. They seemed annoyed and dismissive. The table next to us was talking how they had altitude sickness and took their water bottles out to take a sip. The staff rushed over and took the water away! Told them they could have it back after their meal. I've never seen or heard of such a thing. Wine list was subpar and was hoping to have more wines from vineyards in Mexico. We each got different dishes and didn't try each others. (As I'm plant based) We all three were terribly sick the same night on our second to last day of the trip. Yes, the restaurant is beautiful but I definitely think there's far better Michelin restaurants and Michelin mention restaurants in the area. read more

No.46 The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2025!! Enough said. Also the highest ranked female chef in the world. Mexico City food has my heart (and my wallet but we won't talk about that). Spectacular visit and one I will remember for a very long time. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!!! The meat melted in my mouth it was like nothing i've ever had. My husband ordered that fish and he said it was delicious. I like whiskey sours so i asked the waiter if they could make it and he recommended a chino sour. I had never had it or heard of it. OH MY!!! was i blown away!! Chino sours are officially my fave! It was also a very cute location like a house infoor vut felt outdoorsy really cute!! read more
Rosetta is worth the hype and worth the Michelin star! If you are in CDMX, you definitely need to make a reservation here. The ambiance is gorgeous with the greens and painted walls in the garden. They also have a separate bar area on the third floor that was a nice place to grab drinks before dinner. The drinks were unique and delicious, one of them literally tasted like a cloud. In terms of food, everything we tried was delicious. You can't go wrong with any of the pastas. In my opinion, the top 3 things on the menu were: - Hoja santa and white cacao criollo (dessert): must try this! The hoja santa leaf on top brings a minty crispy taste which contrasts with the creamy smooth cacao creme underneath. - White mole and fermented carrots (app): this was the biggest surprise! The carrots are sliced into thin circles and artistically presented over the white mole. This is a unique combination of flavors and was very tasty. - Rye sourdough and chicatana ant butter (app): don't let the ants detour you; apparently chicatana ants are the equivalent of caviar in mexican cuisine. read more
We dined at Rosetta for dinner. They were flexible enough to move my early indoor reservation to a later time to accommodate me, but we lost my indoor table, which is much more charming in the lovely home-turned-restaurant than in the outdoor street setup, which was nice enough, but just a downgrade. Rosetta is a Mexican restaurant with global influences. For drinks, I had the Pineapple Shrub and we also shared a Guava Gin Cocktail. We started with the rye bread with chicatana ant butter, mostly for the novelty. The bread was fine though perhaps cut too thickly and lacking in salt. Sadly we probably would have preferred a good salted butter. Another appetizer was the signature Cabbage Tacos, two blanched savoy cabbage leaves with a pistachio pipian cream of sorts, and romeritos, a variety of Mexican green. I didn't see the vision of this texture-less taco, though it was certainly a beautiful vegetable course. The two pasta dishes were tasty. The tagliatelle had a delicate sauce of Italian sausage and a hint of chile de árbol. The lobster gnocchi had fluffy, tender gnocchi, and a well-balanced seafood based sauce with chunks of lobster and asparagus, so this was very spring-like. Our two mains were Sea bass and Suckling pig in macadamia coloradito mole and guava. The sea bass was a very standard fish preparation and needed a more interesting sauce or accompaniments. The suckling pig was fine, but the sides SOUND so delicious - mole! guava! but ended up not really being recognizable as a Mexican dish. It was a very elegant meal and a lot of effort was put into it, but overall, the cookery was just not memorable. read more
I don't get the hype? We came in for dinner based on the stellar reviews and everyone recommending. We started with cocktails at the salon upstairs which were very good. We then moved downstairs for dinner - service was very good and attentive with friendly staff. Ambiance is stunning as well, the place really embodies the vibes of CDMX. For the food, do not get me wrong nothing we had was bad it was just nothing impressive. For starters we had the Ant Butter, Corn tamales, scallop crudo and fennel and orange salad. None of these were bad whatsoever but the ant butter was just butter, the corn tamales were great I must say, the crudo and salad were good but nothing stellar. For mains we had the bolognese and pork belly. The pasta was good and the pork belly was phenomenal but it was TINY. This is one of those places where you spend $200 per person and are still hungry when you leave. While we had a great meal it just sint worth the price or the hype - I could have gone to the taco stand around the corner and been more saitiated, enjoyed it just as much if not more and spent about $190 less. Rosetta is a one-star Michelin restaurant, so we had high hopes when my family came here for lunch. The interior was super charming--high ceilings, beautiful design, and a very inviting atmosphere. The service was exactly what you'd expect from a Michelin spot: attentive, professional, and helpful. Let's start with the best part: the bread. Seriously, the complimentary bread was incredible. The texture of each type was perfect, and they kept it coming--no complaints there. For appetizers, we had the Savoy Cabbage Tacos and Corn Tamales. Savoy Cabbage Tacos - The tacos were recommended by our waiter but fell flat. The filling--pistachio pipián and romeritos--was soft, creamy, and lacked texture. Not very memorable in taste either. Corn Tamales - My family's favorite. It wasn't like a normal tamale which is often dense and savory. Light, fluffy, with a sweet cream on top--super unique and delicious. Moving on to the pasta: we tried the Tagliatelle and Risotto. Tagliatelle - It tasted like it was covered in store-bought sauce and was overly soft, not al dente. This was disappointing. I was expecting a unique twist on tagliatelle but it didn't deliver. Risotto - Extremely rich--so much so that I couldn't eat more than a spoonful. It was also a bit undercooked for my taste. For mains, we had the Steamed Grouper and Braised Short Rib. Steamed Grouper - Super confusing--the sweet creamy sauce didn't mesh with the steamed fish at all. The flavors felt mismatched and disjointed. The fish was just steamed and paired with a sweet sauce, it was odd and I didn't understand the concept. Short Rib - This tasted oddly similar to a Chinese-style dish. We joked that my mom literally could have made this at home. I did enjoy the polenta it was served on, though. Dessert saved the day: the Poached Pears with Elderflower and Tarragon was absolutely Michelin-worthy. The elderflower foam and tarragon ice cream were unlike anything I've ever had--fragrant, balanced, and delicious. In short: amazing service and ambiance, solid bread and dessert, but a lot of the main dishes left us underwhelmed. Probably wouldn't return for a full meal again. read more
We had some really creative dishes here that I'll definitely remember. Savoy cabbage tacos 10/10- this was my favorite dish overall. It's flavorful but light and so different from any taco I've had. I could eat this all the time. Mussels & chileatole 8.5/10- lighter than expected! Nice and interesting flavor Tagliatelle 8.5/10- solid, pretty much a dish you'd find at many Italian restaurants Pork shoulder 8.5/10- solid and well cooked Hoja Santa & white cacao criollo 9.5/10. I've definitely never had a dessert with a lightly candied leaf before! The presentation is beautiful and I was wowed. The flavor actually wasn't that sweet, and I could have used a tiny bit more sweetness. But that's a tiny nit. read more
Restaurant rosetta: 1/5 Food here is spectacular. We tried one appetizer and cannot fault it. My review is for their reservation and seating organization. We had made a reservation yet we were asked to be seated outside (on a hot day) or the first tables upon entering. The entire dining space was empty and mind you this is a weekday late lunch time slot. I can't understand, who are you saving those for? We were there for 1hr and the space was still empty. Anyway, we came for their crab tacos which they apparently took off right that day and replaced with scallops. So the online menu is not current. We ended up only having the cabbage tacos which were excellent. I'd come here if you're tolerant and running high on patience. Else there are many other exciting places in cdmx, including their own panaderia and salon upstairs. Salon rosetta: 5/5 They do beverages and desserts only. When we had a less than ideal time at their restaurant we decided to just go upstairs for desserts and bev. Tried two of each and liked everything. Service was great. 3.5/5....? Perhaps the hype raised the expectation too much, didn't really love the meal. Cocktails - Guava was good; Strawberry/Tea one just tasted like Elderflower syrup. Tomatillo - favorite dish, enjoyed the variety of veggies within. Cabbage Taco - I don't understand this besides for the photo. Just a very liquidly dish lacking in textures. Cabbage is already thin and half of the stuff was mousse. Fermented Carrot & White Mole - carrot doesn't taste anything different like others, was it actually fermented? While Mole has strong pinenut and an asian spice flavor. Feel like besides it being white, doesn't feel like a mole. Tamale & Smoked Cream - I just don't understand this dish at all, very coarse corn texture with no stuffing. More foam. Mussel Chileatole - it was good but feel basic. Horchata Dessert - it was not bad but mostly the thin layer pastry crisp we had in many restaurants in MX. Complementary bread was very good! After we are basically done with our meal, u excited as everything we had was either foamy or mousse-y, the next table of ours was ordering most items half order. It was pretty annoying wish our waiter told us that as we did not finish lots of it since it's just two of us. Left a even sour feeling at the end. read more
Pretty easy to make a res here, but they do use tock which is a bit different than most of the other restaurants in CDMX. Service seemed a bit weird at first (maybe it was just a language barrier) but we were confused on how to order and were just waiting at the table for a while. The first half they didn't come by much but halfway through the meal they started coming by more often, cleaning crumbs, and swapping out plates. Free bread: 5/5 Much like everyone else says, the free bread is pretty good. They give you a little saucer of olive oil to dip in but the bread itself looks pretty cool and the inside is really soft and moist. Queen Clam: 4/5 The clams tasted good with the sauce but not a ton of substance to this dish. Cabbage Taco: 3.5/5 Lots of people raved out this - it's basically just a cabbage leaf with some sauce on the inside. It doesn't taste bad but kind of underwhelming. Corn Tamales: 3.5/5 The tamale itself is super airy instead of dense like a normal tamale. You get the corn flavor with each bite but i didn't love this dish. Tagliatelle: 2/5 Sauce needed some more flavor and the noodles were pretty overcooked to the point of being a bit mushy. Not a huge fan. Gnocchi: 3/5 Flavor was actually better than the tagliatelle but the gnocchi was still super overcooked and mushy. Risotto: 3/5 I actually liked the flavor (some notes of citrus) but i hated the texture of the esquites in the risotto. It made a weird contrast of soft risotto rice with stale/hard corn pieces. All in all, i honestly wasn't a fan of most of the dishes here. Service started a bit slow but got better throughout the meal. read more

My mom and I were visiting CDMX for her birthday and wanted to treat ourselves to a nice dinner--and this spot did not disappoint! We arrived around 6:45pm on a Friday without a reservation and were still seated right away. They let us know we'd need to finish by 8pm due to a later reservation, but we were never rushed or made to leave. Drinks & Appetizers * Elote Lemonade: Super tart, unique flavor--interesting and worth a try (3/5) * Old Fashioned: Vanilla undertone, but very smooth (4/5) * Complimentary Bread: They kept the baskets coming--perfect for soaking up sauces (5/5) * Cabbage Tacos: Delicate and delicious (5/5) * Jerusalem Artichoke: So good--great texture and flavor (4/5) * Tomatillo/Nopales Plate: Super fresh, but the flavors didn't stand out to me (2/5) Main Courses * Mussels: Rich, flavorful broth--we used the bread to soak up the remaining broth (4/5) * Tagliatelle with Italian Sausage: Absolutely incredible! Perfectly cooked pasta, flavorful sausage, and again, the bread was our best friend for soaking up the sauce (5/5) Desserts * Complimentary Corn Flan?: A sweet birthday touch for my mom! A great experience in Mexico City. The service is top notch and each dish is truly interesting with unique combinations of ingredients. I recommend ordering many different dishes and sharing with the table. The tamales and endive salad were perfect starters. We liked the gnocchi best out of the two pastas we ordered. The Wagyu was perfectly cooked and my friends enjoyed the sea bass. Leave room for dessert! The ice cream with rosemary and mint was a surprising favorite. read more

Scored a reservation online and arrived 30min early and still got seated right away. Despite the mixed reviews on yelp and google, we did enjoy our food quite a bit. I felt that the flavors were solid, tho I'm not sure if it was 1 Michelin star good. The vibes tho were solid. Like many others have mentioned, the free bread is superbly good. My favorite was the focaccia which I asked for refills twice The corn tamales surprised my in terms of flavor (in a good way). The beef short rib with polenta was also a solid entree. The pasta was okay. The pasta was cooked to a slight al dente texture, but I felt that the sauce was missing depth in flavor. As a result, the pasta tasted pretty bland. Service felt a little rushed overall (despite us arriving early!). Dessert was kinda mid. I'd skip and if you're still hungry, recommend popping over to their bakery close by for some amazing pastries instead. read more
The restaurant is located in one of the most upscale neighborhoods in Mexico City. I was there by myself for dinner because I wanted to see what this Michelin star place was all about. First, the service was outstanding. My table was cleaned between courses, everything was perfect in terms of the staff. Friendly, thoughtful and catering to my vegetarian requests. The ambience was also decisively upscale. But, it wouldn't be anything without the food that garnered that rating. My first course was a salad with pommegranite seeds and a white cream sauce base. It was light, refreshing and simple. Then, the minestrone soup was as fresh as I've had in Italy. And, I had a ravioli with white cream and fresh morels. Amazing. read more

Absolutely Michelin star! We had one of the best dinners. The starters were everything. The little cabbage tacos were so flavorful the harvest bread with the chocolate sea salt and ants butter was divine. We enjoyed so many things I had to Sea Bass so tender and delicious. We ordered their special margarita with floral sense it was delicious and fresh , the whole experience was amazing. I will be back to dine again very very soon. read more

Unlike other fine dining establishments, Rosetta doesn't feel like it's trying really hard to impress people. There is still great service, beautiful vibes, and a warm atmosphere; consequentially, they've been deservedly awarded a Michelin star. I would highly recommend ordering a variety of dishes to share, especially some of the appetizers. Some standouts for me included the cabbage tacos, radish salad, and the tamales. For the main entrees, the braised beef was scrumptious with the pork being my absolute favorite - the pork had a concentrated flavor and was so juicy it felt like I was drinking soup with each bite. Prices were incredibly fair at around $70 per person (including drinks) so I would highly, highly recommend making a reservation here for your next trip to Mexico City! read more
Currently ranked #46 in the world from World's 50 Best! Made reservations ahead of time and enjoyed the ambiance that was earthy and warm with a comforting vibe. Highlights from the meal were the scallops and desserts for us. The White Mole was really good too and pretty unique since I've only had dark, brown kinds so this was a refreshing take. Try the Tamarind Jelly dessert and the Chocolate Cake in Banana Leaves -- so unique and just the right amount of sweetness. Service was very attentive without being overwhelming too. Really enjoyed this restaurant and would recommend if looking for Italian inspired cooking with Mexican touches. read more

Dined a couple weeks ago. Being from San Francisco we were highly impressed with the food and the very attentive service. The ambiance is fantastic and there's lots of different rooms as well as a bar upstairs. The wine list was thoughtfully curated with wines from all over the world. I'd recommend going with more people so you can try more things if everyone's down to share. The Esquites Risotto was a stand out dish for me. And the wine that was recommended to us was fantastic. read more
