We live in the age of smartphones, so I don't understand why anyone still thinks they can get away with claiming attempts to contact someone were made when that's easily disproven by looking at a phone's call log. But here we are... I called Non-Stop this morning to try and get a same-day appointment in the evening after work. The girl I spoke with on the phone was great; very nice, friendly, helpful, all that stuff. We agreed on a 5 to 7 p.m. window. Awesome. Fast forward to 4:19 p.m. I get a call (that I couldn't answer because I was still in the office) from the technician saying he would arrive in 10-15 minutes which would have been before the agreed upon window. I called the number back several times, but my call went straight to voicemail each time. I made several calls to that number between 4:30 and 5:30 and it went to voicemail each time. At that point I figured I was getting the short end of this stick, so I waited until just before 7 p.m. and called the main number to confirm no one was coming. Once again, the girl on the phone was pleasant but she gave me a lengthy list of excuses designed to put the blame on me. At the end of the day, the tech claims he was here waiting, knocking, and calling from 4:45 until 5:20. That is simply not true as there were no missed calls on my phone and I know exactly what time I got home because I knew I may not make it by 5 and had my neighbor on stand-by in case I needed someone to be there if I was late. I walked in the door just a few minutes after 5. There was no one here waiting so clearly someone isn't telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Completely disappointing after reading all the great reviews. Had all this gone well I was going to use their service to replace all the locks on my home, install a fancypants keypad on the front door, and the garage door. Their loss. read more

Last week, after calling the "local" locksmith in Glenview and getting a dismissive tone... spray some WD-40 in it, they said! ... I came to Yelp and found the 5-star Non-Stop folks, thinking.. . you can't be that consistent, I was pessimistic, but called, only to find a happy voice on the other end of the phone, I described my needs, I was assured they could help and I could have a tech at my home the next afternoon. Sure enough, he arrived on-time, walked me through my options and fixed my main problem and updated a second lock I decided on during the visit. While he couldn't re-key the luggage on my motorcycle (it was wishful thinking), I was very happy with the expediency and flexibility of Non-Stop. read more

I was told by the dispatch that our window for service would be between be between 2pm or 4pm, but maybe earlier since the tech was working very close to our location. The tech showed up at 4:20pm. I had told the dispatch that we would need the lock replaced as we did not have a spare key. The tech was unaware and could only drill through the lock and did not replace the lock.I expected a lot more seeing the previous reviews. read more

We just moved to a new house in the suburbs and Non-Stop was able to get to our house in short notice to rekey all of our exterior doors as well as add a deadbolt to one of our doors. Chris came early Saturday morning and was very professional and courteous. He got through all of the work quickly and even taught me a little bit about the different locks so that we can make sure we use the same keys if we were to ever replace any of the doors in the future. You could definitely tell that he cared about us as clients and even did a few extra things to make sure our doors closed and locked smoothly. We'd definitely work with them again! read more

Horrible service!! Put in a cylinder less than a year ago and there is absolutely no warranty!! $150.00 to change everything in September 2015 and another locksmith who came out in August 2016 said everyone should have been guaranteed for at least 3 years. Not even 1 year of good service!! Be careful check your warranty, not fair to have to double pay for the same thing in less than 1 year! read more

I locked myself out on a Sunday afternoon -- found Nonstop on yelp, called, and in under and hour they showed up, fixed my lock, and gave me good advice on replacing this lock with one I'll actually have a key to. I called Non-Stop Locksmiths to have three locks re-keyed and have some extra keys made. What a great experience! The person in the office was super nice and accommodating (I called them at 7 pm to change my appointment window for the next day and got a cheery "No problem!"). Chris, the locksmith who came out to the house was also super nice and knowledgeable (he suggested different kinds of locks and keys available for different levels of security) without being pushy.
