I used JR on 3 or 4 occasions to fix the front gate lock in our building which kept breaking. This last time however dealing with him was an exercise in frustration. After failing to show up to fix the issue, he finally came and installed a new electric release. After that the buzzer stopped working for all units and mail carrier as well. The only time he showed up when he said he would was to pick up the check on 10/9. I don't know how someone with such disregard for his customer's time stays in business. The ignition on my Saturn totally locked up - it was impossible to to turn the key at all. Research online suggested that the only fix was to replace the lock cylinder, which gets pretty costly. I called Saturday morning and he was here a couple hours later (it wasn't an emergency). He readjusted and cleaned-out the lock and made me two fresh keys. Turning the ignition is smooth as silk now. While I won't say it was cheap, it was less than half of what I expected to pay with getting the cylinder replaced. Very efficient and very friendly. I strongly recommend Chi-Town. read more

I used this company on October 25th, after someone stole my wallet and car keys downtown. I am not from the city and was only visiting. I called around but this guy seemed great over the phone, he was friendly and helpful. He came to where my car was parked about an hour late, apologizing, and made me three sets of keys costing me $325. I paid him and went home. Upon getting home I noticed that the man never reinstalled my passenger side lock mechanism! So I called, he told me he would reorder the part, and we set up a time to meet, he canceled and rescheduled and then didn't show up for the rescheduled time. This happened three more times!!! He blew me off each time. Now no one is returning my phone calls. I find it extremely unprofessional to say you are going to come install the part YOU did not install correctly the first time, and then not show up and not answer phone calls. I cannot drive my car in the rain or even to work without fear of water damage to the battery lock system or someone being able to get into my car.
