My tenant called to say that the lock on his front door wasn't working. I called ET and they got a technician to come out on Saturday so I didn't have to take off work to meet them. It turned out that my tenant was at home so I didn't have to come but it was nice to know they are available on weekends. Plus they don't charge an additional fee to come out after hours. It all went smoothly. They technician called me to let me know that he was on his way so I could let the tenant know. I recently used their service for my rental property. Since I had them before on my primary unit's building, I knew great work would be performed. While I was on vacation, the technician came to my rental, my tenant was watching, and fixed the issue. I paid $90. After speaking with my tenant, I found out that after a quick analysis, the technician only sprayed WD-40 and the lock/key worked like new. According to my tenant, he was only there less than 10 minutes. So, I called the owner to indicate that paying $90 was a bit much for something that was so simple and only took 10 minutes. We purchased a 2-flat building about 2 years ago. The door buzzer/intercom had never worked, but it wasn't at the top of the priority list. I decided it was time to get it fixed, you know, to streamline our food delivery process. I picked ET locksmith based on the reviews. Slava was the guy who came out. He was a pretty cool guy, clearly knew his stuff. I sort of followed him around to see if he needed help and to see what he was doing. He was very efficient. It turns out 2 of the 3 interior panels were bad as was the outside one. I also asked him if he could re-hook up the door opener since we had the door replaced. The wires were there, but they weren't live. He was able to do some MacGyver tricks drill a few holes and was able to run a new wire. It took him about 3 hours to diagnose the issues, and install the new parts including the door opening mechanism (which involved drilling out the trim to fit the mechanism). I watched him work and he didn't waste any time. I offered to do the clean up because at $95/hour I'd rather do the sweeping myself. The work was great the guy was friendly, but I can't give it 5 stars. There is a $39 fee just to come out...that doesn't sit well with me. There are tons of service trades that don't charge a fee just to come. I think that's robbery. My bill was $600+, you still feel the need to charge a $39 service fee? Worth noting, you can't pay with credit card unless you want to pay the 2.5% service charge. read more

Yup. Ol' numbnuts here (that's me!) decided that his keys were better off inside his apartment resting comfortably on a table, rather than sitting idly in the oppressive confines of his pocket. Ol' numbnuts is kind of an idiot. That fact was painfully evident as he watched his door close, and accepted his key-less fate, all the while saying "no, no, no, NO, NO, NO!!!" A wiser, more resourceful person would've thrown a limb (or other solid object: phone book, human baby, etc) in the door's direction of travel in order to prevent the locking mechanism from engaging. But alas... I didn't. I stood there and watched it happen. And as I sat in my vestibule contemplating my next move, I realized that I had the presence of mind to have my phone on my person. Cool move, numbnuts. I sensed that I may have a way out of this predicament. Cool move, indeed. A quick search on my SpacePhone had me in contact with the nearest locksmith, who happened to be the fine folks at ET. As it turns out, this type of dipshit behavior is rather common, and roughly one hour later, I was back inside my stupid apartment, with the help of the friendly and decidedly not-shady technician. If you've ever had to deal with locksmiths before, that last sentence should be of particular importance to you. So kudos to you, ET. Without your humble assistance, I would've likely used a ladder to gain entry through my second floor window. And let's face it: that scenario has the potential to end several different ways. Being my first time needing a locksmith I wasn't sure what to expect. When I called the number, a very friendly and polite woman named Joy took my information and told me a technician would call me right away. Sure enough, within a few minutes, Tim called and told me he'd be there within 20 minutes. Wouldn't you know, he showed up right when he said he would and got to work. I mention this because it seems to be the exception rather than the rule these days when companies follow up with you in a timely manner so I was very impressed. Tim was very professional and friendly and explained what he was doing every step of the way. He was even willing to climb up on my balcony and try the side door when the main door wasn't cooperating. Unfortunately the lock had to be drilled and replaced, but Tim gave me several options and didn't try to upsell me on something I didn't need. I'd say the whole process took about 30 minutes and everything was good as new. I'm hoping I never need a locksmith again, but if I do I'd definitely be a repeat customer. I've been having trouble installing some gate locks at our condo building. Waved the white flag and called up these guys to take over. Eli responded VERY quickly to my service request through their website listed on Yelp. He came out the next day, exactly at the time he said he would. When he got there he could see that I had done all of the prep work with the holes. He then showed how the lock operates and what I had probably done wrong in the process. He then took the time to install the lock in the existing holes I had made and made sure it worked right. He did this all for no charge and was very happy to do so. I now feel confident doing the other ones on my own, this saved us almost $200. He never pressured me into paying him for the other ones. Self-managing your own building and having to negotiate with contractors can be a pain in the you know what. He explained the process and the inherent flaw with intercom panels. Note to the manufacturer - create something to go over the panel so its not affected by the winter/summer elements so much. ET locksmith to the rescue again. I just used them for the second time and they were quick to answer the phone call, and quick to arrive at my home. Process took about 1.5 hrs from call, to the tech showing up, and work completed. I, first called ETL. a few years ago when my front door lock was giving my problems due to the humidity causing the wood door to swell up. I have a thicker than normal door which causes more of an issue during the humid months. The repair was better than anything I could have done and it lasted for about two and a half years. In the past, I was tinkering with it every 9 months or so. The same lock just popped out and ET locksmith arrived and took care of fixing it again. Many thank yous to Angie who answered the call and to Patrick who did the work. He was quick, informative and suggested replacing the lock to avoid a repeat of the same issue, but since the lock he hand on hand was brushed silver and the current hardware is polished silver, I opted to have him repair it, with a call back in the future when the correct lock is ordered and is ready to be installed. read more

Was really impressed - at first.....BUT after I had to call them back three times (That's right, THREE TIMES) to fix a dead bold they had rekeyed and got charged for EVERY SINGLE VISIT over a six month period I got really irritated and very angry. When I tried to address the issue of it being the 3rd time they had to fix the deadbolt I was told it wasn't their fault, it was mine because I had a cheap deadbolt and then I had to pay for the service fee (for ten minutes worth of service!). Are you kidding me? Great, Fabulous, Awesome Customer Service........NOT! If it was such a cheap deadbolt WHY didn't they say something on their initial visit? Instead, they chose to fix it and charge me every single time. Nice! I will never use this company again. EVER! I went out and bought a new deadbolt the next day. We had just hung an over-the-door wreath holder and wreath on our front door and had pulled it shut when the door knob/handle completely came apart from the actual door. The inside knob came completely off and screws fell out and we could only think that this would cost us an arm and leg to get fixed. Not true! I called ET and they were able to send out a tech w/in a half an hour and he was able to fix the problem in about the same time. Joseph explained that the screws had probably come loose, allowing the other screws just to fall out because of repeated use and/or slamming the door. I wasn't pushed to buy a new lock, and Slavic made me feel very confident that our locks are still in great working order, and that they are super-secure.
