My favorite thing in curry is bamboo, and green beans, and I'm very happy they didn't overwhelm it with red bell peppers. The chili oil was delicious and the coconut flavor was divine. Next time I will get extra bamboo, it is my favorite thing but many other restaurants use canned products which to me taste and smell very sulfurous and are completely unpalatable. Had a great experience at Nooddi Thai in Media. Didn't have any expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Very relaxed vibe in the restaurant and the staff was very kind and attentive. We ordered the Satay Chicken, Crab and Shrimp dumplings, edamame as appetizers. The satay skewers was really good and generous portions, I liked both sauce offerings. Dumplings were also really good with the plum sauce. For entrees we ordered the Crispy Tempura Duck and Chicken Pad Thai. The duck was delicious and the pad thai was great. Overall, I'm glad Nooddi is in my area. Will definitely be stopping by often. read more

Ordering take out from here is a breeze - they answer the phone promptly and never make mistakes. Noodle dishes were are packed to the brim as never leave me hungry. Drunken noodle and pad Thai are our go to order. I always order satay and never specify chicken or beef. I usually wind up with beef but twice I have ended up with chicken. Well located, pretty decent size restaurant. Four of us dropped in for lunch. Ambiance is tired. It is BYOB! Fortunately we went next door and got beers. There was one server and one chef. Five of us went last night to celebrate my sister's 92 birthday. Everyone enjoyed their food and even Tom as host, waiter, cook, telephone order-taker was very attentive. There was not many sit down clients but they handled a slew of take out orders. We brought our own bottle of wine and Tom graciously offered a bucket of ice to place it in. I'll comment only on my meal starting with a tasty Tom Yum Soup with large shrimp and crisp, fresh vegetables in a spicy broth. The menu described soft shell crabs as Glazed which came out Tempura. It was disappointing since my favorite meal is soft shell crabs and can do without the extra fat and tempura breading but the sauce flavors worked. Again, it was served with fresh, colorful vegetables. After two hours found it was up to me to request our check from Tom. In Covid times every restaurant seems to have staff problems and this one was no exception, but you'll find the store is small and personnel personable enough that all errors are quickly forgiven. Nooddi Thai Chef is located in Media on the corner of State and Monroe. If you enjoy Thai or Asian food, this is a must visit. A large dining room is available as well as takeout. The staff and owner are always very friendly and attentive to our needs. Over the years, we have always had a great dinner and the portions are a good size. On Saturday I had Duck Chuchee Curry and it was delicious. The duck was lean and the vegetables were fresh and plentiful and the curry sauce was delicious with the right level of spice I ordered. My wife had the Salmon Chuchee Curry and it was mouthwatering and made to order. The dinner menu has a lot of dishes to select from. For dessert we had Mango Sticky Rice and Fried Bananas. It is unfortunate to have to write this review, but my experience was so horrible that I feel it necessary to warn others as I typically rely on reviews to select safe places to patronize. On April 4, 2023, I ordered takeout at the Media location. To be clear and fair, I've been ordering from this location for years without any major issues. Any minor issues I had (i.e. food temp) were promptly addressed, and my experience was always pleasant. Which is why I'm saddened by the events of April 4th. Around 1pm, I ordered Drunken Noodles with Chicken, Crab Rangoon, and vegetable spring rolls. My order was promptly ready when I arrived, the young lady who took my order and subsequently took my payment was very kind and courteous. The issue came when I began eating the vegetable spring rolls (which by the way, were stone cold but that would soon be the least ofmy worries), as I was chewing, I bit down on what initially felt like a small flat sharp bone but pulled it out of my mouth, I very quickly realized wasn't a bone at all! To my surprise, it was a used staple. I say used because it wasn't intact like a new staple would be. I was shocked but thankful I didn't swallow it. I immediately called the Media location where the same young lady answered the phone. I described what happened, she was initially very apologetic and said that she would give me store credit but could not issue a refund. Pause.... so when I originally called to report the incident, I didn't know what I was seeking as a resolution. I was just so shocked to know this was in my food and thought they would want to know so that they could ensure that it wasn't in someone else's food. Had it been a child, the outcome might have been different. However, it was something about her telling me she could ONLY give me store credit that didn't sit well with me. For one, this isn't a typical customer dissatisfaction complaint that you can make go away with store credit. 2. I was terrified to even eat any of the other food I had purchased (by the way, almost $40 total) so why on earth would I order more food, especially if the issue preventing me from eating the food I already have hasn't been addressed or resolved? Ok so, I said, with all due respect, this is a safety/health concern, I would hope that your restaurant and staff are better equipped to handle these issues than just store credit, what if I swallowed it??? Do you really believe store credit is a equitable resolution? I then asked to speak to the manager, understanding that she was young and give a very specific job, take orders and expedite orders and take payments for said orders. I understood that she might not be equipped to handle such a serious matter so I didn't charge it against her. However, when I asked to speak to the manager, she said he would not be in until 5pm when dinner service started. Again, this didn't sit well with me, thinking well how do you handle health and safety issues in his absence? So far not to well. But I was trying to be reasonable and since I wasn't hurt, just hungry, I gave the young lady my information and she said she'd pass it to the manager but to call back a 5pm if I didn't get a call by then. Fair enough. 6pm no call. So I called back. A different young lady answered the phone. I explained what happened earlier and told her that I was advised to call back after 5pm to speak to the manager. She then said the manager wasn't there. Silence. Then i aked, well, when do you expect him in? She said towards 8pm. I then asked well are you able to reach him in the case of emergency? She said no... wait what?? I said that it was troubling to know that there seemed to be very little put in place to handle emergencies, which I take to be common in restaurants and the food industry. So I said, it's either the establishment is ill equipped or no one considers what I've experienced to be an emergency which is troubling. The young lady then hung up on me... I called back, no answer. Yup. I had the right mind to go down there and introduce myself to the young lady and demand a manager but I felt that would only escalate and contribute to the problem. Besides she sounded even younger than the other young girl so I'll charge it to her youth and ignorance. Nevertheless, I was saddened by this because like I said, up til now, I've never had too much of a problem, but they do say, you get to know someone (or in this case the restaurant) better when you have an issue. I will never patronize this restaurant again. Mostly for fear that I'll ingest a foreign object. But too because of how horribly they handled the situation. read more

This has got to be the worst pad Thai I've ever had. No taste, bland noodles. Super disappointed.

Starting with the good stuff, the Jungle Queen was wonderful. I really enjoyed all of the vegetables in it and the tofu was cooked well. I especially liked the broccoli and cabbage in the sauce. The sauce is really similar to panang curry and I really like that. The drunken noodle was much sweeter than I expected and I did not like it at all. I expected spicy and it was just sweet. We had around 5 people try the drunken noodle and the best review was that "it was fine" the worst was that "it sucked". One person had pho and found it ok. Same with the fried rice. One person had the Kapow thai and that was good. The vegan version of the vegetarian dumplings were pretty good (opinion from w vegan). I had the vegetarian dumplings and they were pretty good. This restaurant maybe good for takeout but I had a below average experience within their restaurant. It is a small restaurant but it took ten minutes to be asked about our drinks. I order pork thai curry for my entree and I never received it because they made the mistake in assuming that the thai curry was for takeout. The server openly yelled at another person for making a mistake. That person came out from behind the back and threw a straw at another group's table out of frustration. The strangely-spelled Nooddi is the IHOP of noodles. They offer noodle dishes in a variety of styles (Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Thai, to name a few) and ample seating. Pronounced "nudie" (like... "nudie bar"), this unassuming franchise is located on a corner on Media's State Street. Their interior is colorful, with hanging pictures of people enjoying noodles (what else?). We ordered the lunch special - get an appetizer, entree and a dessert for ~$8. The appetizers were tasty, but small. They're appetizers for a reason apparently. Luckily, entree portions are significantly less stingy than the starters. I had the drunken noodles, and tried the Malaysian-style noodles, tangy and piquant. The Japanese udon were comparatively mellow when held against the others. A fruit-bowl was the dessert. Run-of-the-mill condiments are provided with the entrees but some doozies are there too - there were some delicious spices I couldn't identify right away! Service was on the mark! Like the Bamboo Club chain, Nooddi tries to make many styles at once. Instead of excelling at any given style, they pull off average marks with each style. I enjoyed my meal but others noted the food was too salty. If you're in the neighborhood, Nooddi is worth a try, especially if you like noodles. I've eaten here periodically but I ordered takeout here for the last time. I ordered pad Thai with tofu and on the phone the person repeated back beef pad Thai and I said no - tofu. They said okay. I also ordered chicken satay. I go to pick up my order and they say beef pad Thai and I said again no tofu. They said again okay we will fix it so I waited a little bit and brought my order home. When I got home the chicken satay did not have the peanut dipping sauce, which is the best part IMO. I called to let them know and they said oh come by and we will give it to you. I wasn't about to go out again. That's a real inconvenience. The restaurant was not busy which could have been a sign. The pad Thai was very bland and skimpy on the veggies and tofu. I picked up food after exercising so my review is strictly about the food. Got the spicy noodles with chicken dish and it hit the spot. Wouldn't say it was overly spicy; more of a good mix of sweet and then spicy. Gave my 8 year old a taste (who had never tried Thai before but likes Lo Mein) and she liked it at first, then was surprised by the spice, then drank a big gulp of water and then said "Wow that was really good! Had a nice dinner here with my husband recently. The girls that were working were very sweet and attentive. We both ordered the early bird special, but in hindsight, probably should have ordered full sized meals and appetizers since we were both still a bit hungry afterwards. I didn't like the Tom Kha soup that I ordered - it had a bit of a fishy taste to me which I don't like - so luckily my husband switched with me and gave me his Tom Yum soup which I liked much better. I had the Som Tam salad for my appetizer and really enjoyed it - cabbage, carrots, tomatoes and peanuts with a nice dressing, and chose the Thai Basil dish for my entrée. It was good - chicken, lots of green beans, peppers, onions in a nice sauce with a bit of basil in it. My husband enjoyed his meal as well. I ate here last night with a few friends and was blown away by how wonderful they are handling their COVID precautions. They have no menus, just a code you can scan through your camera on your phone and it pulls the menu right up! So cool. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to any questions we had. They had every table inside social distanced from the others. I will say I've been to this place a handful of times, but only for takeout/delivery. Do yourself a favor and go sit down. I liked the food before, but when it comes out fresh it is next level delicious. It's a shame I feel like all these reviews bashing the delivery times/food quality is because you are ordering through a third party app like Grubhub or door dash. I recommend giving this place another shot and getting the food fresh. Unfortunately, delivery is convenient these days, however if you're going to review the actual food, try it more than on way. I've never had a bad experience here delivery/take out/in person so I can't relate. I got the Massaman curry with chicken which was incredible. More on the sweet side which I love but still a little kick! So far I've been once for dinner and once for takeout. Both times were very good. I had the red curry with tofu which was one of my favorites curries! The rest of the table also enjoyed their food. The menu has a lot of options and clearly labeled vegan and gluten free options and alternatives. They also mention they can exclude egg/make other swaps from many dishes to make it vegan which is nice. Service was a little slow (but it was NYE). Grew up in Media and have been going here periodically for a long time. I think the ownership has changed recently and it's getting worse. I've been there (and left) on more than one night where they were having staffing problems and unable to both serve people and process takeout orders at the same time. Also, and would maybe be a picky detail if it didn't have the word "Thai" in the business name, but it's not Thai. It's a blend of Thai, Viet, Indonesian "styles" but not Thai. Much better food than it's down the street Thai competitor. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Service is attentive and pleasant. The decor is relaxing and cool. Takeout is a breeze and they never make you feel like a second class citizen for deciding on takeout.
