Food is good for 4 stars, but I'm bumping up to 5 for the lovely customer service and attitude. We across the country to watch stage production that our kid helped to produce. Before the show we had just enough time to find a place to eat near our hotel in Media. We hadn't had Thai food for a while so we picked this place. We arrived in the early evening and the restaurant was mostly empty, which can be a bad sign but we saw a small array of food delivery bags waiting for their couriers. We decided to go ahead and give it a try. We were greeted warmly and water arrived at our table shortly after we were seated. After a few minutes, our server (who we think is also one of the owners) came to take our order. She was a funny woman who sort of treated us like her children, assuring that we surely could handle the level of spice in the dishes if she didn't have a problem with it. We placed our order, with her giving us her verbal approval of our selections. It gave us a peculiar sense of validation - it seems like we didn't make any Thai food faux pas, such as requesting a side of fries with our curry. Papaya salad - we always hesitate when we see this on the menu, because while we really like papaya salad we've been disappointed at some restaurants. We were quite happy with this rendition. It was a generous portion of crisp shredded papaya with several large shrimp flavored with a lime dressing and topped with crushed peanuts. Very delicious Thai eggplant - served with bell pepper, carrot, and onions in a garlic sauce. Pretty good. Green curry with chicken - the star of meal tonight. The curry flavor was excellent and there was a good amount chicken and fresh vegetables. I was tempted to ask for another scoop of rice to finish off every last bit of the sauce. Mango sticky rice dessert - I've seen this on menus before but had never tried it. The rice was just lightly sweetened and there was generous amount of diced mango on top. The mango wasn't quite as sweet as it might be during the peak of the season, but this was still an excellent way to end the meal. As mentioned above, the service was really nice. When an older gentleman brought out the curry (we think he was both the cook and another owner), he told us that this was his favorite dish and he ate it every day, and he really hoped that we liked it. It was so charming, so genuine - and indeed, it was an excellent dish. read more

I had a basil chicken situation that was really tasty, and I have grabbed lunch from here twice since having dinner here with my sons. The decor is so cute, and calming. Wife and I got there on a chilly Saturday, early evening. Best duck on State Rd! Wonderfully crispy and light skin yet the meat itself was nice and tender. Panang curry with chicken was also really good. If I have to nitpick, I'd say a tad too heavy on the coconut milk but it didn't taste bad by any means, just not what I'm used to. We also got spring rolls, which was a little heavy on the black pepper (not sure if it's the oil or the spring rolls themselves) The decor is a little strong and outdated but the great food more than makes up for it! The staff are kind and courteous. I eat Thai food pretty regularly and this was very satisfying. The tom kha soup was a little creamier than I personally prefer but it wasn't so heavy that I didn't want to finish it. Don't miss the chicken satay especially if you're dining in. Best Thai food I've ever had!!!! Came here for my moms birthday and the food was incredible! We started with the veggie gyozas, fried tofu, and veggie spring rolls which were all great. Then we had drunken noodles, panang curry, and chicken pad Thai. All of the reviews said the pad Thai was the best but honestly was my least favorite out of the three dishes we had! Still great the other entrees were just incredible! All of the dishes had a great level of spice. It was also super affordable and our waiter was super attentative and kind! Best yellow curry I've ever had, and I lived in Bangkok for 3 years. Absolutely love this place.

Came because of the good reviews on Yelp and it was as delicious. I got the Tom Kha soup to start and my dad got the creamy Tom Yum. Both were so good. We both loved the crab rangoons. I got the green curry with chicken and my dad got green curry with seafood. The seafood looked really good and a variety of items (scallops, squid, mussels, etc). The service was very good--attentive but not overbearing. Quiet and relaxing inside which was very nice after a busy day. I had the "Evil Jungle Princess" with tofu. It's my go to dish when trying a new place. I know how it's supposed to taste. It's not a hard dish to prepare but it's easy to do badly. Look at the picture...where's the basil?? The point of the dish is the Thai Basil (or Holy Basil). This was more like mixed vegetables with beef. Okay, not really what I wanted, but how did what I got taste? Meh! Not a lot of flavor. A thin watery sauce. Not very much fish sauce (essential for Thai cuisine) flavor. I guess my search for good Thai in the area will continue. I was excited for a new Thai spot to open up around me. I made a reservation for 7:45, which was available on here being that my daughter has dance until 7:15. They called me three times which i missed and didn't know until i finally picked up the last call. They called to tell me they close at 8. I said, so are we not allowed to come? And she says can you come earlier? I said i cannot because my daughter has dance until 7:15, and she says we'll just do you know our kitchen closes at 8. SO WHY WOULD RESERVATIONS BE AVAILABLE if they are going to rush you?! If you can't take a reservation at a certain time, then don't put those times available. I received a text to confirm the time too. My dad owned a restaurant for many years and not once did we rush our customers. If they come in at 840 and we close at 9, we don't rush. read more

This is the second time I have been to this Thai restaurant which replaced La Na. The atmosphere is lovely - very relaxing and the tables are not too crowded together. The food is excellent - fresh ingredients and well prepared with generous portions. The service is exceptional. The waitress we had was friendly, attentive and prompt. I tried the sampler platter and each of the selections were tasty, warm and nicely presented with three different dipping sauces. My wife had the Massaman Curry with chicken - it is her favorite dish and she was very pleased. She also had the Iced Green tea which was excellent. We split a plate of Mango Sticky Rice for dessert and it was a delicious conclusion to a lovely lunch. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you like well prepared Thai food, excellent service and a comfortable setting, you should definitely give Spice Thai in Media a try. read more
