The taste never disappoints.The spring rolls were fresh and perfectly rolled, with a nice touch of mint that really stood out. Service was fast and efficient, and the staff was friendly. After calling another pho restaurant in town and not getting an answer, I decided to give Noodle House a try. Though it was a few minutes further drive from where I'm staying, it was worth the trip! Located in the in shape shopping center off Davis Road, this unassuming little restaurant was already getting busy for the dinner time rush at 5:30 PM on a Tuesday night. If I hadn't been picking up soup due to being sick the last few days, I would've liked to dine-in; the restaurant felt cozy and inviting! Before I'd been waiting in the doorway for barely a minute, I was greeted by a gentleman from the back of the restaurant asking if I was dining in or picking up. I told him my order, and he promptly went back to grab it and blend up my boba drink! I suggest you come in early or call your order in ahead of time if you've got a time crunch. Once I got home, I simmered my pho broth on the stove to a low boil so my rare steak would cook once I added it along with the noodles, sprouts, onions, etc. It was delicious - I didn't need to add sriracha or anything. The spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce were also yummy; I'll be saving those for another meal later today. Would definitely come back here, and would choose to dine in next time to get the full effect; their menu looks pretty extensive, and I'd like to try some other other items too. I've only gone in for takeout, so I can't really speak to the din-in experience, but I've been in between rushes and during the dinner rush and it was vacant between meals and about half full during a Tuesday dinner. The service looked attentive enough. When I picked up my meal between shifts the food was almost ready, delivered hot, and the pho was excellent. The time I went at dinner, I had to wait a little longer,of course, but it wasn't too long. Again, the pho was excellent, but the Fried Rice was really bland. I remember coming here a couple of years ago and not being impressed with the Chinese offerings, so I guess that hasn't changed. My advice, stick to their strengths, the Viet part of the menu, that's what we're going to do. read more

I came here with a colleague and I got the beef noodle soup. The portions are large and the broth is delicious. The food was served quickly so we didn't have to wait long. The owner and all the staff are extremely friendly and seem to know everyone who walked in! It definitely looks like a favorite spot for the local community. This is hands-down one of my favorite places to eat in Salinas. The owners are so funny, and make an effort to make you feel at home there. There's usually not a wait for a table, but not because there aren't people waiting to eat, but because the owners are that good at finding a space to accommodate everybody. The dining room decor is visibly dated, but they do offer plenty of indoor seating. PARKING: Located in a large shopping plaza, they have plenty of parking. IMPRESSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS: I had their rare steak pho and was immediately baffled by their 4 star rating after my first sip of broth. Their broth lacked any depth or flavor, suggesting it was heavily supplemented by some type of pre-packaged seasoning. TL;DR (came for pho) - friendly service - decent pho broth ***** Elvis cracks me up. He knows his regulars and regulars love him back. As it was my first time, I had no idea who he was among the guys working there. I figured it would have been easier to spot if he had donned white tights with a mic singing as he moved about with a tray. But nay, I had to figure it out the old school way. Watch and listen and rule each person out that didn't fit the description. Service isn't my focus in places like these but when it is good, I find myself appreciating it even more. I was served by a straightforward older gentleman and I liked it that way. No frills, get my order in, get the food to me asap, and check in just once more after. This is why I feel like Elvis is worth mentioning. He talks to everyone like they are his best friends. Wonderful right? But he sure brought out the giggles when I watched him start singing to himself in the corner by the register when everything slowed down. Sure is a show at a pho place. He obviously loves what he does and it carries all the way through to the overall experience that patrons have and its a good thing. Now to what truly matters. Pho. Is it worth coming here if you're not in the immediate area? No. Nothing magical and I find it to be on the "lighter" and sweeter side. Noodles were al dente which I absolutely appreciate and gives a better overall mouthfeel. But all in all, they do not truly separate themselves from other spots in terms of flavor. Just another decent spot to stop by if in the area when the craving hits. Oh, I wouldn't recommend getting the appetizer combo unless you just want a bunch of fried stuff for no bloody reason. Fried wonton wrappers, fried shrimp with more breading than shrimp, fried to death riblets, and fried spring rolls. Of all those mentioned, only the spring rolls were worth consuming. So just order a spring roll appetizer and skip the combo. Sure makes more sense. read more

We were driving back from a stay down in Southern California and were craving noodles of some sort. Yelp identified Noodle House as being close to the freeway so a quick lunch stop was possible. I called in our order and within 10 mins arrived at Noodle House. The shopping plaza has definitely been impacted by COVID - there were closed shops and the traffic was nonexistent. I'm very glad to see Noodle House was doing well. They required masks and social distancing, offered sanitization for folks, and were very quick to get takeout orders out to customers. They placed plexiglass between the register and customers, and the owner was very quick with the transaction. I feel it's important to call this important COVID safeguarding your everyone's attention because I felt clean and safe while inside Noodle House. They are doing a great job at protecting their patrons. The owner shared that the were very busy and doing a lot of deliveries. Great news because places like Noodle House are adapting well to the new state of things. I hope they continue their busy business! Now, the food. I ordered their Kung Pao Squid lunch special. My partner ordered the Oyster Sauce Chicken. We also ordered egg rolls. Our craving for noodles was totally satisfied! The egg rolls were hot, crispy, and not greasy. They provided sweet and sour sauce, which really wasn't needed because the egg rolls were very flavorful on their own. The lunch specials were huge! We didn't finish them, and felt completely satiated. The Kung Pao Squid was delicious. The sauce was so good, I could have just had the sauce over rice. But the fresh vegetables and squid were such a wonderful combination. The rice was really really good. You'd think that steamed rice is just boring. However, their rice was fluffy, slightly glutinous, and was the perfect accompaniment to the entree! I didn't taste the other lunch special, but my partner just said that it was fantastic. The next time I'm driving through Salinas, and need a meal, I will be swinging by Noodle House. I recommend it! read more
