I've enjoyed the food and value here many times, but I've decided to move on. Unfortunately, the cleaning habits are a consistent issue; they often use very harsh-smelling chemicals or mops that leave an unpleasant odor throughout the dining area while people are eating. I just moved to marina and have been on a hunt for a place to sit down enjoy a meal and work. I came here for a lunch time, it was full(not to many tables anyways) so i did takeout.. but after i did i noticed seats becoming empty i asked if i could stay instead. the server was nice she did it and allowed me to sit.. i have worked serving so i know the deal, i wanted to open the tab back up so i am able to tip her AND get served. but she never came back, i needed a few things as well.. but no one ever checked or looked my way. not till the very end i sat for a while because i took a call and the server came to ask me if i wanted more water, at the time i took the chance to ask for a box. They were friendly and accommodating with substitutes that we requested. I love this condiment and to me, it's an essential part of any Viet dining experience. My dining companion verified that it was indeed stale or at least was very "off" somehow. My husband and I decided to try this place on the recommendation of a friend of ours who said their pho is the best in the County. We were so excited to try it, but we weren't exactly in the mood for pho, so we decided to try a range of dishes and save the pho for next time: stir fry egg noodle with chicken, grilled pork chop with rice and the combination the stir fry. The food itself was okay, not great by our standards, but just okay. We both felt like we should have ordered what they are known for. The next day unfortunately, we both came down with nausea, along with some other unpleasant symptoms, and I had a pretty severe migraine. I ordered a Pho Tai Chin (rare steak & brisket noodle soup). Truly one of the lowest quality pho I've ever had. I'm not too surprised as I can't expect much from a Vietnamese restaurant in Marina. We had another order of Bun Bo Hue Chay (Vegetarian Spicy Noodle Soup) and it was terrible. The broth tasted like sink water and I wish I was exaggerating. We had to put so much seasoning and condiments just to get cover up the taste of the sink water and it was overbearingly bad. The only decent part of our entire meal was the Fried Eggs rolls. The pricing was pretty cheap as it sadly matches up in the poor quality of the food. Seems like we can't hope for an affordable, quality meal.
