The food is always fresh and cooked to order. I usually get it to go since the venue is really tiny (about five tables or about 10-15 seats). The mix seafood and vegetables is my go-to order and the ginger fish and the green bean chicken are great also. This location is close to my work and it is popular with locals.

I spent about $36 for 2 plates of orange chicken and chow mein. Service was fast and they are always kind. I called in my order and only waited 20 mins. Going in the restaurant is small compared to most but they have about 5 tables to sit at. Definitely recommend this spot!

Absolutely delicious. A stunning big portion the way I love it. The lunch special is truly satisfying the Kung Pao Special is savory the right amount of ingredients not to spicy, not to salty perfect . Veggies are fresh & snappy to the bite, very fresh. I highly recommend this hole in the wall. Will definitely eat here again

Decided to try this place out again- It's been 7 years since the last time I had it! Chose to dine in, the place is very small just a few tables with your soy sauce and chili oil placed on top. Ordered the Mixed Kung Pao dinner special, added the chow mein option for the extra charge. The food was ok, made fresh to order. I really enjoyed the veggies in the dish with the sauce. The "fried rice" is maybe just that, fried rice with soy sauce for coloring because that was it. No eggs, no peas, no sprouts, no green onions NOTHING. I did see they are very busy with constant take out orders, so they are popular- just not my favorite.

Great lil restaurant. My favorite Chinese food in Salinas. Pricing is fair and you get a bang for your buck. Great portions! This is a small small restaurant with very few seating options inside, therefore consider take out. If you are ordering during lunch hour, consider calling ahead. It gets busy around here. There might be a slight communication barrier, if you don't pronounce the name of the food correctly when ordering. Service is good though!

Then curiosity finally won. I arrived mid-afternoon to a surprisingly packed house--always a promising sign. As luck would have it, one table remained, and an older woman kindly waved me over to claim it. About five minutes later she returned with a place setting, menu, and the essential opening question: "What would you like to drink?" (Water, in my case.) Three minutes after that, a younger server zipped past, apologized for the brief wait, and efficiently took my order. I went with the Sweet & Sour Pork lunch special ($13.95), which came with an egg roll and fried rice. The portion was generous enough to qualify as both lunch and a future encore at home. The egg roll and fried rice were solid. The sweet and sour pork was decent--loaded with pineapple chunks, though curiously missing the usual bell peppers. The sauce leaned a bit enthusiastically toward the "sweet" side as well. Still, it was a filling meal and I ended up boxing half for later. Friendly service, hearty portions, and reasonable prices--three good reasons I'll likely return and give the rest of the menu a spin. Prices have increased by about $2-4 each item, which isn't too bad. Second thing we encountered was an additional charge on my friend's card. The receipt stated that it was $58. We used my friend's card for the food and had extra cash so we opted out of an on-card tip. When my friend received the charge, it was $70!!! We brought it to a staff members attention and were quickly shut down by the lady that charged us. She said that it's what banks do and that it would give us back what wasn't charged??? She said to come back next month with a bank statement to prove it was actually taken to get his refund, if needed. We sat there in awe being yelled at by the team so we kept our mouths shut and left. It was MY first time here (my friend said he and his family come often and order large amounts) and that they've never had problems. Although, he did say his family tends to pay in cash. Not sure if I'd come again because of this sticky interaction.

I actually had to circle back to find it, which already made it feel like a bit of a hidden gem. Arriving around 1:30 pm, the dining room was completely empty at first glance. For a moment I wondered if they were closed, until I noticed the doors slightly ajar. Not long after stepping in, I was greeted and invited to sit wherever I liked, which added a relaxed, unhurried feel to the whole experience. I went with the Mango Beef Special Lunch Combo ($10.99) The dish came with generous crisp vegetables, chunks of mango that paired nicely with the zesty savory beef. The fried rice and chow mein leaned a bit on the mild side flavor-wise, but a touch of chili oil and some of the entrée sauce brought everything to life. The combo also includes soup of the day and your choice of appetizer, making it a well-rounded plate. Portion-wise, it's more than fair--especially for the price. In fact, it easily undercuts most nearby Chinese spots and even fast food options, in the later case being obviously fresher and more balanced alternative. This feels like the kind of place you root for. I'll be back to explore more of the menu--and honestly, I'd take supporting a quiet local kitchen like this over a fast food chain any day.
