Driving through West Texas, my husband and I were looking for a quick place to stop for lunch. Knowing I LOVE dumplings, he found a restaurant in the middle of Texas that served up just that. Disclaimer: The restaurant I tried from this restaurant is not what I'd considered "authentic" as some other Yelp users have stated. It's some version that suits the local palette. Service: The service was great. The host/server seated us right away, came by to take our order when we were ready, and proceeded to check in periodically to make sure our meal was okay. Ambiance: The restaurant is pretty big, with plenty of seating available. Food: Like I mentioned, the food isn't "authentic", but it's as authentic as you can get in West Texas! The food was still good! By husband and I ordered The xiao long bao (pictured). The dumplings did not have a thin wrap or soup inside. Quite the contrary of what makes a xiao long bao what it is, but the dumpling itself was still flavored well, and delicious. It tastes like a regular dumpling cosplaying as a xiao long bao. For the entree, my husband and I shared the chicken stir fry noodle. The noodle was really good and the portions were HUGE. This restaurant is in the middle of industrial buildings. It has its own lot. It's very visible from the main road. This is a Chinese restaurant yet not. It's not authentic Chinese, it's a version of some sort of Chinese catering to the locals. We ordered the cucumber salad, which is usually a cold dish of smashed & cut cucumbers sitting in a sauce of soy, sesame oil, sesame seeds & minced garlic. But this version wasn't exactly the original but it's edible, actually not bad. The Samsung dumpling wear another version that's not the like how it's supposed to be. The dumpling skin was thicker and bready, more like a momo than a Chinese dumpling. I like the filling but not the wrap. The tonkatsu with fried rice was ok. I like the fried pork cutlets but not the fried rice. It was just cooked rice fried with soy sauce. Overall, it's convenient and functional. This is an excellent establishment. Andrew, our host and server, was attentive and courteous throughout our visit. The restaurant offers ample seating, though it can become busy, and takeout is also available. My girlfriend and I had been looking forward to trying this place, and it did not disappoint. The food was exceptionally flavorful--the chicken fried noodles and chicken dumplings were outstanding, and the fruit- and vanilla-filled baos were especially enjoyable. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and we will definitely be returning. I'm glad to have such a quality spot close to home. read more

Fast service. Big bowls. Food was good. Good enough if you are craving comfort Asian food in the middle of nowhere.

I'm Chinese-American so I've had experience with our food and we ordered the chicken & broc & kung pao Shrimp. They underwhelmed. High quantity, low quality. Plus, the staff was not friendly and finally, maybe I missed it, but I didn't see on the to-go menu that they charge an additional $4.99 for fried noodles. The kung pao shrimp said comes with rice or noodles. If u say noodles, almost $5 added on. Almost $40 for 2 takeout meals is too much. So. Meh. read more

WOW! What a find late on a Tue night in a strange town. Brightly lit, very clean large room welcomed us in. Seated right away and server was there in less than a minute to get drink orders. My Wife had an order of spring rolls and won ton soup. My Son had beef fried noodles. The fried rice was there in three minutes. Steaming hot with plenty of proteins and veg. Moist and flavorful. The kind of rice I've been looking for since my year long trip to Korea ended. Spring rolls were fried to perfection; crispy and hot. The filling was done well, moist and very fresh. These rivaled my old Thai girlfriends, and she could cook! Noodles were wok fried with nice pieces of bed and plenty of Peppers. My dumplings were filled completely with a very good tasting pork filling, skins fries but not scorched, very very good. They took the full 15 minutes the menu says because they are made fresh. I know since I watched the cook make them behind the window into the kitchen. The true star was the won ton soup. None of us had ever tasted a broth this rich and flavorful in won ton soup. It was more like a pho broth. 8 large pork wontons Inhabited the large bowl filled with broth and aromatic greens. Hands down, the best won ton I've ever had. Better than that in Shanghai or Beijing. The whole inside was so cute. Great seating options and plenty of room and light. The only thing I will say is. The bathroom. The toilet wouldn't flush. At all. It probably isn't like that normally. Travel from Dallas to Phoenix, stopped by Pecos Electrify America for charging. So lucky tried out this place. The food is authentic to a native Chinese standard. The hand made prok/shrimp dumplings is the best. Lanzhou noodles is true Texas size, beef topping is almost half pound. The place is upstates and clean. It has open kitchen too. Chinese food was best in town! Service was a little slow for refills and checkout. But, nothing to be to be mad about, just not perfect (- 1/2 star). Ambiance and decorations wasn't bad for this area, light music would have made it a little better (- 1/2 star). Been around Pecos for years and never knew this place existed. A totally unexpected find in the small town of Pecos, this American Chinese restaurant knocked my socks off! This hole in the wall restaurant is a great stop on the way to anywhere. They serve fresh noodles, boba teas, sauteed vegetables and tofu (yes, tofu in west Texas!) over rice or hand pulled noodles, in rich sauces of various spice levels. They also have fresh bao and dumplings. My husband and I had an excellent dinner last night while on the road, and I'm pleased to report zero indigestion. Did I mention that the bathrooms were clean? Best place to eat in Pecos! The dumplings were standard fare, high quality, and delicious (a reliable choice). The baos were a true treat to be savored (with both savory and sweet options) and unlike what is on many Chinese menus in the US. We had the pork and scallion ones as well as the chocolate ones for dessert. My only regret is not having a larger stomach to be able to try all of the baos offered. read more

Cute and clean Asian fusion spot in Pecos! The dumplings and bao buns were solid; my partner got the braised beef noodle soup and it was DELICIOUS. I got the general tso's and the sauce was yummy, but the chicken itself was a tad over-cooked and tough to eat.
