The caretakers were conscientious and caring, the food was much better than his prior facility, his room was light, airy, and clean, and the MedTechs were really on top of things. The variety of activities each day was very impressive. I wish we'd found PG sooner so he could have enjoyed more time there, but I'm grateful for what he had. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pacific Gardens to anyone looking for the next step for a friend or family member.

It is a larger facility with two stories and the pricing is tiered based on the occupants needs and is inline with prices for similar facilities in the Bay Area. Residents have private rooms with bathrooms and a small kitchenette. Overall it is a nice facility. However it felt more like a hotel, residents had their doors shut and which is great for seniors who are independent. It did not seem like a place where my grandmother who was going to require hospice level care would get the personalized care we wanted for her. I also felt like the tour was very sales pitch oriented. For us while it was a lovely facility it wasn't the right fit.

Don't bring your loved one! Especially if they have higher needs. Brought mom here in Jan. 2020,…read moretook her out 5 weeks later. My mom is recovering from a stroke, needs 5-10mins of stretching of her paralyzed side 2x a day, as well regular PT / OT. Was promised by the director and caregivers that the regular caregivers could do the 2x a day 5-10 min. stretches and hired another caregiver from the same company to do 1 hr exercises on the days I couldn't do so. Mom doesn't speak much, but her memory is fine and she let me know that none of the staff were helping her w/ either the 5min stretches, exercises and often even forgot to take out her dentures, brush her teeth or place her C-Pap machine on. Residents are taken to their bed as early as 5:30pm, staying in bed 14-16 hours at a time. Only meaningful activity is the ocasional Bingo game during the day, otherwise, all sitting in front of the TV for hours, zero conversation and often w/ out even water at their side. I was there often, and should have found mom a better alternative immediately when the second day there staff had given mom medication that was not hers. Once she tried getting out of bed and fell because she was so tired of calling out for help at night and not being attended to. Another time, seriously implored the caregivers to not leave my mom in a certain position in bed because it was very detrimental and pain inducing to her paralyzed leg. I returned a couple days later to find that her leg was left in the same exact position. Each time the excuse given was that my mom wanted it that way. I think they thought that because my mom doesn't speak much, she wouldn't be able to advocate for herself and tell me what had really happened. The male staff even gave my mom the middle finger after she complained that she didn't want him around when going to the bathroom. I spoke to the director on several occasions who assured me she would speak w/ staff, but nothing changed. Caregivers had even admitted to me that they were saying they were giving my mom the daily stretches but weren't doing so. Even after this the director continues to defend and make excuses for her staff, when really she should be protecting her residents who are truly the ones who need advocacy and protection.

Chuck B. Morgan Hill…read moreNov 14, 2025 About 15 years ago, while living in Sunnyvale, Ca, my aging mother was suffering from dementia and other age-related problems that had gone beyond my ability to provide the level of care she needed and deserved. I was fortunate to discover Madera Villa, a small, welcoming facility with around 17 rooms, each furnished and complete with its own bathroom. The staff there provided her with constant, loving care and attention until she peacefully passed away from her illness. I have carried gratitude for that experience ever since. Fast forward 15 years to March of 2025. My wife of 34 years was now struggling with dementia, mobility issues, and recovering from a broken arm after a fall. Once again, I reached a point where I could no longer meet her growing care needs on my own. Living about 30 miles south of Madera Villa, I searched for a nearby facility but found none that gave me a good feeling. Then I called Madera Villa--and to my delight, I was greeted by Allan Tuan, the facility administrator, and his wonderful assistant, Sarah. Both of them had been there when my mother was a resident fifteen years earlier. When I walked through those doors again after all those years, it felt less like entering a care facility and more like returning to a place of comfort and trust. Seeing Allan and Sarah still there filled me with a deep sense of reassurance. It reminded me that some places truly hold on to what matters--people who care for others not because it's their job but because it's who they are. Even in her condition, my wife recognized Allan and Sarah from visits long ago and connected with them instantly. Their compassion, attentiveness, and genuine kindness made her feel safe and loved. During her stay, she became friends not only with the entire staff but also with several residents. I started calling Sarah the "sweetheart lady of Madera Villa," and the title fits her perfectly. Madera Villa stands out as a place where warmth comes before profit and where every resident is treated like family. I cannot think of a better place for a loved one who needs care and community.

The team at Madera Villa is incredibly caring, compassionate, and fully dedicated to their patients. They not only took exceptional care of my mother but also supported us as a family, making us feel truly at home. Their kindness and warmth provided comfort during an incredibly difficult time. We cannot imagine a better place for my mom to have spent her final days, and we will always be deeply grateful to the owner and the entire team at Madera Villa.

I was concerned at first because of the horror stories about some of these type of facilities. Staff was compassionate, attentive to my needs and very friendly. Two or three times a day they frequently checked on me to ensure that I was getting all that I required during my staff. If I ever need to go to Assisted Living again, l would ask my family to check to see if there is a bed available at BelleRose. I highly recommend this facility for anyone who needs care either on a temporarily or a permanent basis. Lori and her staff went well above what I excepted for a Assisted Living Facility. Kathy M.

So anyone who has a loved one looking for a good place outside of their personal home, Bellerose would be my only choice . Can't say enough good things about them, they truly have caring ways .

I've spent time at Belmont Village Sunnyvale through a professional partnership. I've come to understand this community's standard of care through working alongside them. What stands out most is the team. There's a calmness and presence in how they carry themselves. The staff who know their residents, take the time to connect, and genuinely care in a way that's not forced. You feel it in the small, everyday moments. From a working relationship standpoint, they are organized, communicative, and reliable. And just as important, they don't shy away from challenges. When something doesn't go as planned, they address it directly and work through it thoughtfully with a level of maturity that reinforces trust and respect. At the end of the day, you're not just choosing a place, you're choosing people. And this is a team you can trust to show up, do the right thing, and care in a way that truly matters.
