While in New Orleans staying at the Nopsi Hotel downtown, I ate breakfast at their Public Service restaurant. Service here was excellent, though as I was having breakfast at 7 AM I had most of the restaurant to myself. My servers were always polite, happy and eager to please. The Parish omelet was large, served with smoked ham, tasso, bacon, bell peppers, onions and mixed cheeses and shredded grilled potatoes on the side. Well $24 was a bit steep. I had to remind myself. I was at a tourist hotel in the middle of New Orleans. Nonetheless, it was delicious and a very good breakfast. The NOPSI Hotel lobby is absolutely stunning, and the holiday décor this year is next level -- especially the hot cocoa bar in the lobby with all the toppings. Such a fun and festive touch! I had a great lunch at the restaurant bar; the duck & andouille gumbo was delicious and full of flavor. Service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere made it an ideal place to sit and get a little work done. The large windows overlooking Baronne Street offer a great street view and lots of natural light. The hotel itself is beautiful, with gorgeous meeting spaces and a warm, inviting vibe. First off!!! The Valet Crew was on point! I loved how friendly and professional they were even for us middle class people. As we walked into to this luxurious hotel, I got the we whiff of elevated energy ( iykyk) and I was loving it! The hotel was gorgeous! Real plants, for my plant people I got you guys! The staff were also so kind and professional. The only things I can complain about is no microwave, no washer or dryer.. but I'm assuming that's because this is a luxury hotel.. we don't wash clothes we pay someone to wash them.. we don't microwave left overs we eat out anytime we are hungry . I don't got that kind of dough but I appreciate my timeshare for setting me up here turn having me go to a meeting to sell me more time shares , but I'll save that for another review...back to Nopis! I cannot say enough great things about this hotel! Beautiful, clean Location is great, walking distance to bourbon street but far enough that you don't have to deal with all the people and noise. First time in New Orleans came out to celebrate my birthday and the staff made us feel like family. Checked in at around 1pm on a Thursday and Sean took us in like we were family! He made the process as smooth as it could possibly go. Once we were checked in and came back down he hand wrote a list of all the must things to see/eat! I've traveled a lot and never have had that type of hospitality. Since it was my birthday they also surprised me with a bottle of champagne and another handwritten note. I had an amazing experience at the NOPSI Hotel in New Orleans. The location is unbeatable--right in downtown, making it easy to walk to tons of great attractions, restaurants, and sights. My room was spotless and felt very comfortable throughout my stay. The staff truly stood out; everyone I interacted with was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the visit feel even more enjoyable. I also made use of the gym, which was spacious, very clean, and well-equipped. It was a bit humid inside, but otherwise a great place to get a workout in. There's a restaurant/bar called Public Service that you can stop by and have a bite to eat or grab a drink. There's also a small convenience store on-site that you can grab and go. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend the NOPSI Hotel to anyone visiting New Orleans. Great place, great people, and a great location! read more

Came for a wedding and this venue was perfect! I loved that the couple had their reception in a hotel, and the reception area didn't even look like a hotel! The main room with the dance floor, bar, and main seating was very industrial looking. Exposed brick and warehouse vibes were just great. There were huge windows and the ceiling was very high. It was a good size for the wedding I was at, like 100 people, so I didn't feel that I was crammed into there. Outside of the main room, there were four other rooms with tables. In those rooms, there was different food options, and the food was amazing along with the servers. Then, in the middle of everything there was a cigar rolling table, another bar, and the cake. There were also restrooms right there, which there was a lot of stalls and they were perfectly clean throughout the night. This venue rocked! It was so clean, and I loved how the staff constantly picked up empty drinks and plates. They also walked around with handheld light bites and hamburgers and fries. The location was great. We parked in the parking garage right around the corner. I would totally come back to stay or even for another wedding. read more

Dex made my check in experience wonderful! He went above and beyond to make my wife and I feel welcomed and made sure we were able to check into our room despite being very early for our check in time. He gave us a warm New Orleans welcome and really set a great tone for our trip! Our room was not cleaned majority of our stay. We had left our room for several hours everyday during our stay and almost everytime we came back, our room was not cleaned. There was one day where we were easily gone for 12/13 hours and we came back to our room not being cleaned. Our room was only cleaned one time during our 5 day 4 night stay. We were also charged a $30 resort fee every night of our stay on top of a $5 tax. I ended up paying $140 for these resort fees and taxes at the end of my stay. To not even be able to get my room cleaned during my stay and yet be charged numerous resort fees is unacceptable. The hotel is nice, but is far from a resort by any means. To charge a resort fee for a regular hotel is criminal. read more

Nopsi is the BEST place to stay in New Orleans, it's located right where you need to be, blocks from all the action, but far enough away for peace and quiet. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are immaculate and it's by far the best bed I've ever slept in. The views from the rooftop bar are amazing and the service is superb. Beautiful hotel in the perfect location! Just a couple blocks from French Quarter, but tucked away from the loud crowds. Short walk to the mall and aquarium. Street cars are just around the corner. The hotel is decorated beautifully! We visited over Xmas break and they had an adorable hot cocoa station that my kids visited twice a day. Room was pretty average cleanliness wise, but very spacious and comfortable. The only complaint we had is that we weren't able to use the drink vouchers included with our stay because the lobby bar was never open during our 8 night stay. read more

The NOPSI hotel is absolutely beautiful! The staff was extremely nice and helpful upon arrival. We were given 2 bottles of water at check in. We arrived in the evening and there was live music in lobby. There bar area in the lobby and a restaurant . The room was nice and clean. I loved the vanity area. My husband loved it too because I had an area to keep all my makeup and toiletries out of his way lol. The shower was huge and they had a his and her sink/mirror. The hotel utilizes "Watson" you can text requests or ask questions via your phone. I utilized that service a few times and they were pretty fast with responding. There is also a phone in the room so I'm pretty sure you can call the Concierge too. The location of the hotel is perfect! We were able to walk to alot of the places we wanted to go to (Bourbon St, French Quarter, & Canal St). There is a rooftop pool and bar. We went in January so it was not open. However, we went upstairs to take a peek. It looks like it would be alot of fun in the summer. Staff was extremely welcoming. The bellmen/women were always nice and willing to assist. read more

This hotel exceeded every expectation -- the service rivals, and even surpasses, that of some five-star resorts. The vibe here is simply unmatched. The hospitality? It feels like being at grandma's house -- warm, genuine, and full of love. A special shoutout to Tyisha, who made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. She gave us that real Big Easy love. We stayed here for 8 days and the hotel itself was great. We had a suite and it was spacious and quiet. The room was clean (a few areas could be cleaner - like behind the couch cushions was filled with crumbs and hair) and the staff were all friendly. The location is great and we were able to walk to everything. The problem lies with the billing. We prepaid our stay through capital one travel but we're still ALSO charged fully for our stay by NOPSI, so basically double paid. We also had someone else's meal charged to our room and are having to go through resolving that as well. If you stay here, closely watch you bill and credit card. We are still waiting for it to be resolved. Accidents happen with billing but since we were there for so long we are talking about almost 4k in additional charges. Updating review to four stars as billing issue was resolved but I still had to email/call multiple times to resolve it. read more

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. I stayed here for my birthday. The door man was very respectful, nice and attentive. The room was beautiful. We had the room with a balcony and the view was beautiful as well. I wish we would've stayed longer, but our overall experience was AMAZING. We wasn't sure if the two glasses of wine the front desk mentioned was complimentary or not, but the red wine was pleasant. We enjoyed the roof top bar, while we enjoyed a few glasses of wine. The room is spacious and we enjoyed the privacy we received on the balcony. Most definitely will be booking again for a longer staycation. By far one of my favorite hotels. They were able to give us an early check in which was amazing, because my friend planned and booked the hotel. He needed the extra time to decorate before I arrived and he said everyone he came in contact with was very nice and helpful ! I loved how everyone was very friendly. Walking into the hotel, you're greeted with an open lobby, which was spacious. The bathrooms downstairs were clean. I didn't want to stay at a chain hotel but more or less a hotel that was in the area only. It seemed as if the hotel was filled with the culture. The rooms were updated, but you can also tell that the hotel had been around for some time, which was perfect. I had a few concerns about the hotel after reading the reviews, so i called to ask a few questions. Rosey answered the phone, and before i could further explain the reason for my call. She assured me that everything in the reviews was already taken care of. Lucky for us, Rosey was there when we checked in. This trip was to celebrate my sisters birthday and when I tell you EVERYONE made her feel special, I mean it. She was overjoyed with all of the love. The only issue we had was with the restaurant. It seemed like it took a long time for our food to come out. Other than that, we didn't have any complaints. Make sure to check out this hotel if you're in the area. It's within walking distance to pretty much everything. * It should also be noted that the hotel has a microwave in the lobby. I didn't know, so I ended up leaving my food at the restaurant because I had no way of heating it up. read more

Shabby, stinky, run down hotel. NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL!!! Very disappointed because the old, historic building is lovely, and the lobby area is beautiful, but upon entering late this evening a rowdy group of young, loud, very drunk folks barged into me on their way out. Once in my room, I noted a distinct foul odor and damp feeling....like an old, gross frat house carpet that reeks of stale beer and vomit and mould...absolutely disgusting!! The bathroom even had a horrific mildew odor. Plus, my a/c was set to around 50 degrees so it was freezing, and stayed that way because the heater was broken. They sent up an engineer who said it would take quite a bit of time to repair, but it was midnight, so I was going to already be getting very little sleep since I had to wake up very early to return home. So, management switched me to a different room, but that one stank heavily of air freshener, likely to cover up the wretched odors of this hotel. So, on it went and having to traipse around to several different rooms to see which one stank the least and would be tolerable, as well as not icy cold and with a working heater (btw, when we turned on the heater, the heating strip smelled burnt and old and dusty...what is it with this hotel and everything stinking so badly?!). They should not be charging luxury prices for a budget hotel. For a teeny bit more I could have and should have just stayed at a REAL luxury hotel like the Ritz-Carlton which is immaculate, always....lesson learned!! Honestly, I have had cleaner, more comfortable rooms with very nice management and employees at a cheap La Quinta for $69 bucks a night, and without the headache of staying up to the wee hours of morning trying to simply find a room that was comfortable and wasn't smelly and gross and cold and damp! To make matters worse, I got a bit of attitude when I complained, so that was not good. Oh, and I had to travel to the next floor to get a bucket of ice, because the one on our floor was broken! It's clear that this is just party hotel for younger drunk people who don't give a crap about foul odors, damp, cold rooms, and numerous inconveniences. Stay away or you will regret wasting your hard earned money on this piece of junk! read more

This was the first time my friends and I had ever gone to New Orleans. We came down to celebrate my friend for her bachelorette trip, and decided to stay at NOPSI. We had an itinerary including several restaurants we would like to eat at (according to the internet). One of the front desk receptionists, Sean, saw our list and hooked us up with a list of places we must go, favored by locals. We really appreciate it; we had no bad meals throughout the entire trip. The porter, Derek, also cosigned the list and was so welcoming while helping us with our luggage. The room we had was great. It has a great-sized bathroom, with a vanity, two sinks, and a large shower. Although the view from the window wasn't the best, lol (parking lot), we still had a great view of a few buildings with colorful artwork. Due to the time we went down, we weren't able to utilize the pool, but we did take a peek upstairs, and it was very nice. The food and drinks served at its restaurant, Public Service, were good, and the hotel is located in the French Quarter. I was unable to get a few of the doormen or doorwomen's names, but let's just say the entire staff was friendly and helpful. Honestly, New Orleans locals were all helpful. I would love to come back to the city one day, and NOPSI would be my first choice. read more

Outstanding! NOPSI is by far our favorite hotel when in Nola. We enjoy the plush beds and excellent customer service. The bar serves strong drinks and a jazz brunch menu on weekends is a sweet touch. It's super clean , spacious with large bathrooms. Special events occur on holidays and the icing on the cake is the amazing roof top bar. Ask for a free wine voucher and enjoy! We stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night. We were going to extend to Sunday night as well, but decided not to based on our experience. The hotel building and interior are beautiful - high arched ceilings with beautiful molding. The bar and restaurant likewise were nice and the service was good. We opted for one of the corner suites and it was an extremely nice room. However, the pool situation was out of hand. Apparently, they sell day passes to the pool and it was ridiculously overcrowded. I suspect the pool area was in violation of fire code for the maximum allowable people. I can understand selling a few passes, but there were about 150 people there. The vast majority were not hotel guests. The deck and pool itself were so crowded there was no where to sit and hardly anywhere to stand. The pool itself had no standing room at all. There were speakers set up and the music was extremely loud as if you were in a night club. Our room came with a voucher for a free glass of wine at the pool bar, but it was so overcrowded that it was impossible to redeem it and quite frankly, it was so obnoxiously loud and overcrowded that we left immediately. We were two floors below the pool level and could still hear the music in our room. There are only two elevators in the hotel and with the outside people coming and going to use the pool, the elevator wait time was crazy (the pool is on the top floor). I did talk to a few of the people in the elevator and apparently it is like this every weekend when the weather is nice. Needless to say, we will not be back. read more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Great spot middle of CBD that's walking distance to French quarter and bourbon street. It's a super clean hotel with great amenities. They also allow your furry friends for an additional $25 a night charge which is really good compare to others that have also one time cleaning fee on top of the nightly fee. The staff were all so welcoming and nice. Upon checking they gave us a box of Macaroons which was such a sweet gesture. The only con about this hotel is their beds. The mattress was soooo soft that me and my husband would sink in the middle at night on their king size bed. I would suggest they change it to something a bit more firm so you don't sink into a hole at night while sleeping. Other than this everything about this hotel was great. read more

My wife and I stayed at NOPSI Hotel for 3 nights in November 2023 during our getaway to NOLA. Hotel is very nice, well maintained and clean. Check in was quick and we got welcomed with some very fresh and delicious macaroons. Lobby is spacious with a bar and a piano. On one of the nights there was a live piano music in the lobby which was very nice. Restaurant was nice, we had drinks and some appetizers there all of which were good. The room was clean with high, sound proof windows. Bathroom was huge with two sinks and big spacious tiled shower cabin with glass doors. It was one of the reasons I picked this hotel and it met the expectations. They give guests a bathrobe and slippers but you have to ask for that on the front desk. There were two cons unfortunately that don't let me put 5-star rating:( The king bed was quite uncomfortable (room 510). The mattress was apparently old with very soft, squashed sides and a firmer center. This caused us rolling down to the sides during the sleep. The second problem was a noise from other rooms. One morning we were woken up by alarm going off for half an hour in some room. Next morning another early wake up by somebody sneezing nonstop for like 10 min. It's understood that it's an old building and probably there is no way to improve sound isolation but this doesn't really help the guests looking to rest and have a quiet sleep. I suggest using ear plugs to shield away the noise. read more

The best way to describe this hotel was "fake fancy". It appears to be a very grand, beautiful space. However, it's missing the service and experience of a 4/5 star hotel. They had nothing. Half the items on the menu were unavailable. Drinks were limited, too. No hot water for coffee/tea in our room and when we called the desk, they were unable to bring us anything. I can't say enough great things about this hotel. It was our first time visiting NOLA and found the gem while looking up hotels. We wanted to stay close to the French Quarter so we could join in on the fun but stay far enough so we wouldn't be stuck in the party zone. Nopsi was the perfect hotel for us. Upon our arrival, Jade was very helpful and even checked us in early. She put us at the highest floor which was a plus because I wanted to stay close to their rooftop hotel. We got a king deluxe, which is a corner room. The room was spacious and the bathroom was even bigger! I'm so keen on cleanliness and Nopsi does a great job at that. We spent a lot of our down time at the pool, we made sure to use up that amenity and took advantage of it while we could. Safe to say I'm back home with a nice tan because of it! I didn't get to try food or drinks at their bar but they sure did know how to get the party started with a dj out in the patio on Thursday night and another dj at the pool Friday night. I stayed at the NOPSI for 3 nights and really enjoyed my stay. I stayed in a 1 queen room and the bathroom was very spacious. When I arrived, I was given 3 drink tickets and breakfast tickets to use at Public Serviced downstairs. They had really good customer service and everyone was pleasant. The hotel is centrally located downtown. If you don't mind walking, you can walk down to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street. If I could rate lower I would. First, the lady in the front was extremely rude the entire check in process and every single time we had an issue, which was pretty much the entire stay. The first night we were there we were put into the wrong room, which REEKED OF MOLD. As soon as we set foot on the 9th floor, we could smell it and the room only got worse. We called to get changed into a different room, they sent up a cleaning woman who was talking shit in Spanish the entire time. We know Spanish, but we must have looked white to her cause she ran her fat mouth the entire time. They sprayed some chemical over the entire room even after I told them to stop cause I have terrible asthma. Refused to switch the room, and the manager refused to speak to us until the next day. Handle on the restroom door came off, TV remote didn't work, pool was FILTHY. Pool was full of hair and just what I can only imagine was barf since people were partying up there night and day. The air vents hadn't been changed since Jan 2024, see attached photo. Tons of hidden fees you have to pay when you check in, in addition to the price you paid when you booked the room. Both woman who work the front desk were rude and unprofessional. WE SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. AGAIN, HOTEL REEKED OF MOLD, AIR VENTS NOT CHANGED IN YEARS, STAFF COMPLETELY RUDE AND UNHELPFUL (WILL LITERALLY TEXT EACH OTHER IN FRONT of YOU). Some of the actual HELPFUL staff (the men) were literally talking about how when they walked into the 9th floor that the smell hit them in the face (side note we were down the hall and they did not know) since the other cleaning ladies were saying we were lying and over reacting. They also kept telling us we should speak directly to the manager, that maybe she was unaware. They kept pushing us, almost hinting that the ladies in the front possible weren't telling management of our complaints. So again, would not recommend this hotel even to my worst enemies. If you do book, make sure it isn't on the 9th floor at least. Also they told us they did not have any rooms available anymore, but we checked online and there was a lot of availability. This hotel is everything......period! Thanks to my fellow Yelpers who never let me down, I selected this hotel to celebrate my birthday. There are dozens of amazing hotels in the CBD/French Quarter area but there was something about NOPSI that drew me to the hotel. We checked in on a late Sunday night and decided to stay in and hang out around the hotel. Little did we know, we stumbled on the bombest rooftop bar/pool ever. Words cannot explain how much fun we had during our stay. The pool is on the small size but I never felt crowded. An added plus was Paul the bartender. Not only was he giving A+ customer service, but he poured amazing drinks. He made blueberry margaritas from scratch that blew my mind. This was the perfect element because New Orleans in July is rough. With the extreme humidity and daytime showers, you need a good place to hang out. The hotel staff was very welcoming we especially loved Tim who was very attentive. The food was pretty good at hotel and loved the breakfast at Public Service. On top of everything, the drink prices were reasonable $10 mimosas. Overall this was my favorite hotel stay and I plan on staying again in October. Amazing time and the best place to stay. read more

After years of staying at the Le Pavillon, we decided to start trying out other places. We've tried Hotel Monteleone, Omni, The Saint, Royal Sonesta and the gorgeous Roosevelt and none impressed more than our stays at NOPSI. Not only is the lobby gorgeous but the rooms are fabulous and the staff keeps on impressing us with any requests or even to resolve any issues we have had. One issue we did have was when we were given an impressive room but it was over a conference/ballroom and was a bit noisy with a function they had going on. With no excuses, they apologized and moved us to an even better room on a higher floor with a better view too. I love the location and their history is interesting too. read more

As a Site/Civil Contractor in Florida, I have the habit of my eyes looking at things that other people wouldn't even think of along the roadways, like placement of light poles, handicap ramps, uneven/slopped sidewalks, drainage inlets and of course utility manholes... just about every street I've come across over the years has a manhole with the name (acronym) "NOPSI" casted into the iron manhole covers; wasn't hard to figure out it was "New Orleans Public Service Inc" which provided all the utilities for New Orleans (better know as Entergy New Orleans today). For a few years we stayed at the Le Pavillon and on our walk toward the French Quarter one year, we took notice of contractors working on the abandoned building; I learned they were converting the old NOPSI headquarters to a hotel and keeping much of the lobby layout and decor and most importantly they would retain the NOPSI name as the hotels name (most likely a deal with the city since the building is a registered historic landmark). Once we learned of the hotels opening, we decided to give the hotel a try. Our taxi from the airport pulled up to NOPSI and the doorman grabbed our bags and walked us in... impressive to say the least. Simply elegant with classic touches but trendy and modern at the same time. The staff was pleasant and the room they assigned us was quite the site. I didn't reserve a basic room but I don't recall what level it was supposed to be but Room 519 was fabulous. The door opens to a hallway that leads to a window and the hallway continues to the right... windows lined one side along with a marble vanity/makeup desk; double doors on the right open to a very large bathroom and the main part of the room at the end of the hall has more windows along with a very comfortable bed, desk and other furniture. That first visit cemented our interest and the following year we visited NOLA three times to and of course another visit to NOPSI Hotel was included in the plans. If the service at the hotel wasn't already solid in our book, it was made even better when our room (I think it was 219) was the same layout as our last but it was on a lower floor; actually right above the main Ballroom and apparently there was an event that on the first night so the hotel was fast to relocate us (even offered to pack our luggage and deliver to the new room). The other room, though not a large, was equally elegant and the bathroom was again huge. The room was an upper floor and the city view out the window was phenomenal.
