My car Honda 2008 Pilot was towed (recommendation from AAA) to this facility on Tuesday July 12,2022 despite several attempts of trying to find out what was wrong with my car and only getting the same message from the receptionist "We are backed up and didn't get to your car yet the owner will call you" I called everyday then finally on Monday July 18 my husband was informed that the car need a new engine $5000.00 so we investigated (please note we tried to contact the owner to see if he can go a little lower cause the car is sentimental to us and he was not available) So we decided to dump the car . I received a substantial quote from the an auto salvage service under the condition that the Catalytic Converters are in tact. The absolute WORST place to bring your vehicle. Not only did they triple their initial estimate they had my car for over a month for something that should have taken maybe a couple of days. After I finally got my car back after constantly calling and visiting the shop not even 2 weeks later my car breaks down with engine failure. I recommend this Service Center to anyone who has a vehicle. The staff is friendly, extremely helpful and always looks to help. They have never steered (get it?) me wrong and have always worked with me with regards to repairs. As a woman who is not into cars I rely on their advice and guidance. I went to them because my car wheel was squeaking. I had no idea what it was but wondered if it posed a danger. They took my car, put it up on the life, test drove it, drove back and forth since it was driving them crazy as well. It turned out to need some oil on a bushing (?) and even though they spent about 30 - 40 minutes on it, there was no charge. I would never go anywhere else. I trust these guys immensely. read more

This is the worst garage I have ever had to deal with. I chose them because they were highly recommended and were associated with AAA. If I could give them less than 1 star, I would. First they diagnosed the problem and stated that there were 19 codes and it was going to take a while to figure out the problem. They sent a huge list of needed repairs to my warranty company which, of course, this was a red flag since it is very unlikely for all of the fuel injectors and the other parts to fail at exactly the same time especially on such a new car. They told me that the cost was just under $4000 to make all of the necessary repairs. Then, of course, the warranty company states that they would not approve all of these parts. They approved one part. The shop argued with me stating that I really needed to pay to do all of the repairs on their list that the warranty company did not approve. It took 5 days, in New York City, for the part to arrive at the shop. Then another 3 days for them to install it. At this point Nor-bay had my car for almost 3 weeks, while I am paying for a rental car. Of course this did not repair the car, so we had it towed back to the original dealer 200 miles away. Even though Nor-bay did not repair my car, they still charged me almost $400 in addition to what they billed the warranty company for the part that was approved. The dealer diagnosed the problem and identified that it was a simple timing mechanism. This part failure always shows other faults on diagnosis and I am told that any reputable mechanic should know this. The part was completely covered under my warranty and my car was repaired and back to me in excellent condition in 3 days. Meanwhile, I am still out $1700 with the cost of the extended rental car and the $400 that I had to pay Nor-bay. I called and gave them the opportunity to make this right. They refused and told me that I should have paid them to do all the other repairs. I would not want anyone else to experience this, avoid them at all costs. read more

Nor-Bay has been my only go to company whenever le had car trouble. Courteous & professional service. When l've called AAA I request Nor-Bay. With that said, today I had the most horrific & unexpected experience. The driver couldn't find my address. I tried to guide him & he wouldn't listen. He complained that his gps was taking him elsewhere. But still, he wasn't listening to me. Finally, listening he seemed to be on the right track. I realized that he wasn't when he said he had ended up where he had been before. I said you are close by & though there was a rain down pour l got out my car to assist. I walked a block still trying to guide him. I asked him to drive down the street because l'heure would see standing. He said if he did that he would run into traffic. I said, that's impossible. It's a 2 way street. At this point l couldn't say anything else to ask him to reset his gps. All of a sudden he appears. I guess after deciding to drive down as l had suggested. Then he screamed that he had been here all along. Bald face lie. I instructed him to go around the block to where my car was parked @ the address l had given. I was drenched from the rain and shaken from the yelling of the driver l just sat in my car. Few words were said because l don't argue with people. Meanwhile. I received a call which l thought it was AAA. I found out later it was from the Nor-Bay service station. That call really left me quite shake. I'm going to make short. Two people on the line questioning my location in a hostile manner. They were grilling me about where l was. I was trying to tell about the problem l had with the driver. They didn't want to hear. They both talked over me. I couldn't even get the chance to tell them that the driver was here. Yelling , exactly like the driver. So disrespectful & so unnecessary. I had to hang when l realized there no way they listening to me. Again, just like the driver. Please, don't use this company. During these hard times we should not due business with those who are overwhelmed & are unable to provide the kind of service they provided COVID. I am terribly disappointed because this is the 3 rd time l have used their service since l started driving 2 months ago & they have demonstrated a non care attitude. I gave them another chance. STAY AWAY! These guys are like the keystone cops of the auto repair world. I'm still mystified AAA has a contract with them. I waited over four hours for them to come tow my car today, it took two different trucks because they didn't send the right one the first time (not my first time having this problem with them over the years). The driver swore up and down they could fix my car for a low price and it'd be under my warranty, then once their mechanic looked at it he quoted me for double and said he could fix only partially fix it and it wouldn't be under warranty. I called AAA because my car stalled out on me( had about an eighth of gas).So I thought maybe it needed gas because I never drove it that low.AAA arrived 30 minutes before scheduled arrival time.I explained the situation he poured about a gallon of gas but it still wouldn't start.So he assumed it might be the fuel pump..He called his shop ( NorBay) for a tow truck which arrived about 20 minutes later.Safely towed me to the shop which was less than a mile away.I left the car and called the next day( Sunday...yes they're open 7 days/week).I think it was Chris I spoke to who told me my car started with no problem after I brought it in and again that morning.He said he wanted to keep it overnight to check it the next day or I can come get it, fill the tank with gas and but some dry gas in the tank as well.If I have any problems just bring it in.When I went to pick it up, he didn't charge me a dime....not even to say check it out....I followed his instructions and have been driving problem free.They could've tried to rip me off, but was straight up honest.I think the reason my car stalled was so that i could meet the acquaintance of an honest person and honest shop, as well as a shop that's open 7 days...I highly recommend. read more
