I can't say enough amazing things about Nora's Sugar Shack. First of all, whatever you need, Nora is your girl. You'll find her easily if it's your first time coming in - she's the owner and she runs the shop like a well-oiled (well, boozed) machine. She has impeccable taste in beer and wine, and will help you find exactly what you're looking for. She regularly supports local artists, photographers, musicians, and food vendors. Best local spot in the Orlando area, HANDS DOWN. Great selection of wines and beers, along with a homey touch with the interior layout. Nora is a great host and makes you feel right at home. I highly recommend anyone to swing on by when they are in the area. I've celebrated birthdays with great friends and family, along with going to some of the art shows hosted there. I've been living in the mills50 area for a couple years now and just visited Nora's this past weekend-I really have been missing out this whole time! As soon as we walked in Nora and one of her pups greeted us. I instantly went to the floor to pet her super friendly dog and Nora inquired about what style beer I liked and was quick to grab me one and throw it in a coozie. I loved the beer and loved Nora's easy-going "here, you're gunna like this" attitude! The whole place was inviting and eclectic. There's good outdoor seating and some indoor. I really appreciated how quickly Nora made me feel like a regular, I've got a feeling she's that way with nearly everyone she meets. Can't wait to go back! read more

Great Spot!!! Awesome Beer selection, nice wine room and amazing humidor with best selection of fine cigars and your not going to beat her prices. Laid back environment all run by one fantastic energetic person (Nora).. you can smoke your cigars in the smoking room but only cigars. Beer list is typically the same as the package room. I don't know much about cigars, but have visited here a few times for parties. They have been very helpful in guiding me through which ones I need and how many I would need for my crowd given my budget. The variety and quality were well-received. Would definitely go there again for more. read more

Whenever I want to go have a beer while my pups join me, the first place I go is Nora's Sugar Shack. Some of the charm of Nora's is that her dogs go to work with her and tend to be unassuming or rolling over for a belly rub. My dogs are considered bully breeds and that's okay with Nora. As a consideration to her other patrons and her business, I tend to stay on the outdoor patio with my dogs leashed beside me. If I need or want to go inside, there's almost always someone that will hold my dogs' leashes even if that means it's Nora herself. Take Nora up on holding that leash you can peruse the special offerings in the Sugar Shack. While Nora's is known for residing in a quaint bungalow that feels like you're visiting a friend's home, it's still a business that's also known for great beer, wine, cigars, incense , and other miscellaneous selections where you're greeted by Nora and other guests that have become friends. WTF?! I asked for an itemized bill and she got pissed off? Oh well. First time, last time!

What is the deal with the business hours for this place? I was in the area on a Saturday afternoon and wanted to stop in and buy a bundle of cigars. It was 1:30 p.m. when I pulled into the parking lot, only to find that Nora's Sugar Shack does not open until 2:00 p.m. And it is open until 8:00 p.m. I am really disappointed because I always liked to stop in here when I am in theVirginia-Mills section of town. Nora has always been courteous, and she carries a good selection of cigars. It is worth stopping in just for the homey feeling the place has as one of the resident dogs comes up to greet you. Maybe I am being a bit harsh. But with this area hustling and bustling on a Saturday afternoon, I would imagine that there would be customers coming in before the 2:00 p.m. opening time. Unless this business caters to a afternoon/evening crowd that is out for lunch or dinner on the weekend. I really like this place, but I don't get out here that often. And it is difficult for me to adjust my schedule just to shop here. I am usually home on a Saturday evening, so it is not like I am out on the town and having dinner at one of the nearby eateries. And if I have a after dinner cigar on a Saturday evening, it is going to be on the patio. Which leaves me the choice of either adjusting my schedule to the hours of business here, or doing business elsewhere. read more

My favorite OTown spot!!! This is hands down my happy place. I love to come work outside on my laptop with Nora's friendly furry babies. They are so friendly and even allow my Yorkie to soak in the good vibes with them. But the best part is how Nora makes everyone feel when you enter or leave this hidden gem of Orlando. Beers wine and my favorite Hard Water cocktails. Never hurts that I can get drinks to bring home too. read more

Atmosphere may be nice; however, wine selection and owners NOT. Beware of the free advertising. If you park in their parking lot, they remove your magnets and put a "NORAS" sticker on your front bumper. I have no interest in frequenting a place that covertly puts their sticker on my car, which I had to spend 1 our peeling off. Go elsewhere ! read more

Two of my colleagues and I went to Nora's last week. We were so surprised at how we had never been to this little gem before. Where do I start? We were greeted by Nora's three dogs upon arrival. Nora herself told us to make ourselves at home, asked us what sort of beer we liked and handed us each a beer we had never heard of. We loved all of her recommendations! We met the most laid back, genuine customers while we were there. We will absolutely be back, hopefully sooner rather than later :) read more

Worst experience I have ever had at a bar. A couple months back I walk in with my girlfriend to check this place out and immediately the owner/bartender hands me an empty bottle and tells me to throw it away for her. I do it just to be nice. Then we walk to the back to hangout with friends who we were meeting there. I then head to the front to ask for a menu but they don't have any. The bartender tells me to just look at the bottles on the shelves. I then finally sit down after ordering and she comes back and tells me I have to move because I'm blocking the entrance to her cigar room. I get up and have little room to move with a beer in my hand and somehow I now have to move the furniture for her. She gets mad that I don't immediately do it so she mumbles a few curses and moves the chair for me. By this point I am pissed and feeling unwelcome so my GF and I decide to leave. read more

This is basically my favorite place in the universe. Great beer, great wine, and I'm not much of a cigar smoker, but I assume those would also be great. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxing. Nora is very friendly. My only issue with this place are the hours. Closing at 6 on Saturdays and not being open on Sundays, means no late night hang outs on Saturdays and no Sunday brunch beer. I would rather Nora's be closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and be open on the weekend. But that's because I love this spot and want to spend more time there. read more

Was looking for a specific cigar and looked up some retailers that carry them and came across Nora's Sugar Shack. The name alone peaked my interest. And after checking out her pics on Yelp, I knew this place was for my girlfriend and I. Great beer selection, I've never seen half the stuff she carries. Unfortunately, she didn't have the cigar I was looking for, not her fault but because the rep has never came back to replenish stock...side note, AJ Fernandez reps, get your $hit together...lol. Instead I choose another cigar I was curious about...PIO, and had that with a toffee beer and a milk stout. Definitely gonna try to come back before we leave town. Since my girlfriend and I loved the place so much I inquired about a sugar shack shirt, she was all out but found a small for my girls sister and even gave my girlfriend the shirt off her back, literally! Nora you're F?!$&@ Awesome! If we lived here we would be regulars and I think we converted my girls sister into a regular. Great atmosphere, great drinks, great cigars...great staff and her doggies are cute and mellow. They have massage therapist some nights for a $1 a minute and donut nights. Definitely a place to be...if your thinking about checking out this place, don't think just do it. read more
