First off, Sean is THE MAN!!! 10/10 My story: I had been plagued with smog issues for three previously failed smogs and little hope for a pass on the 4th. I went to Norcal Auto after reading reviews and after being thoroughly disappointed with other smog shops and their brevity on the failed smogs/ crappy customer service. Sean is exactly what you would expect from a honest self-sustained business owner and that is what I got. He walked me through the whole smog process, what he was doing as he was doing it and more importantly, why it was a fundamental part of emission systems. I am a DIY type guy and it was very informative to be told why I could have been failing previous smogs and what measures could be taken to ensure a future pass. LUCKILY, my little tweaks and operations on the truck payed off and I passed. Moral of the story is, DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! Why bother? I have finally found a person that I trust, I know will go the extra mile, and is willing to abide by a code of ethics not commonly found anymore. This was a tremendously smooth and pleasurable experience. I called for a smog appointment after reading reviews here on Yelp and he gave me one 30 minutes from that moment. He was very friendly and personable and the process went about 3 times as fast as it did when I got the same car checked somewhere else 2 years ago! Friendly service and expedience made me decide I probably won't go anywhere else when given the choice. He successfully diagnosed the issue in less than 15 minutes, arranged for the repair, and the truck's hydrocarbon levels went from 121 to 8. My son went to Chico to visit a friend and called me on a Saturday that his truck broke down. I went on Yelp and found NorCal Auto with great reviews and decided to give them a call. Sean is a straight shooter, and an all around great guy. He let me know what I need to do to get my 1981 Jeep Scrambler to pass smog, and he didn't charge me until it passed. I have read some reviews on other sites about people having to wait. Sour grapes. I took my car to Norcal Auto a month or so ago based upon the reviews here on Yelp. I wasn't disappointed and echo the reviews of everyone else here. I just needed a smog check and I was in and out of there in no time. I had an appointment and as soon as I arrived my car was inspected, I was issued my certificate, and off I went. Friendly, quick and reasonably priced. Will go back to Norcal again when I'm due for my next smog check. read more

Sean has been the only person to work on my much loved 2001 Jeep Wrangler, and I credit him for the 150,000 miles on it and the fact that it still runs like new! He is an expert smog technician, his prices are probably the lowest in town and he has a great waiting room for you to lounge in while he gets your car ready to go! Such a great place! I called and made an appointment and I was in and out in less than 10 min for a smog test. The owner was so nice and took great care of everything. I got my car smog tested for $45. Affordable, quick, and easy, I would definitely go hear again and recommend it for a friend. Sean was great. Went there in the morning without calling or setting an appointment and he still got my car smog within 20 mins. Very friendly and easy to talk to.
