We removed a wall in our two story house a couple of years back and started to notice uneven floors throughout our house. I was worried that the beam supporting the roof was not adequate and that was leading to foundation issues. Most online advice suggested to hire a structural engineer to inspect the foundation, as contractors may blow minor issues out of proportion an suggest unnecessary repairs. The structural engineers quoted me $500 for an inspection and they wanted pictures from a foundation repair contractor anyways, since they wouldn't go into crawl spaces. I was losing sleep thinking about my uneven floors, so I decided to reach out to NorCal Ram Jack for a free estimate. What was there to lose? After filling out their online request form they reached out within a couple of hours and scheduled an appointment the following week with Adam, their Foundation Specialist. Adam showed up early and I was easily able to communicate my concerns to him. He measured the elevation differential throughout my house, asked about details of the removed wall and installed beam, and answered all my concerns. He walked us through his thought process and what signs of concerns we should look for that would warrant a foundation repair. The work was repaired, the void under our slab has been filled(a total of i believe 8holes or more in 2 rooms). They peeled the carpet back,drilled the holes and re-installed the carpets to the best of their ability (which actually isn't bad at all). Fence+gate have been fixed as well. They aren't fence guys or carpet guys so leaving a review about those not done to the quality of someone who does it professionally isn't necessary, although they did do a good job with both. We appreciate the 2nd visit, no one had contacted me to change my 1star review, this is of my own doing a week later. No refund,no pay out, no negotiating, we didn't sign anything stating the review would come down after work was done. We appreciate all your guys hard work and cheerful attitude. I contacted NorCal Ram Jack for an estimate on sunken foundation, Adam Porter (specialist) came out I told him the the concerns I have with the house that tilted a bit on one side. He explained and educated me about the foundation settlement. I live up in the hill and My house is about 50 yrs old that sits on a sloped lot over the yrs the foundation had settled and had sunken one side that caused my house to tilt. I asked Ram Jack for a quote to level 2 floors and fix my foundation. Ram Jack is more expensive than all other contractors. Their salesman quoted about $35,000 to fix only the first floor and foundation. It didn't include fixing the 2nd floor. It included permits and engineering. Door, window, and walls can be damaged when you lift the house. Ram Jack only fixes the foundation. They're not going to fix anything else that breaks. I hired a structural engineer to draw plans and got quotes from general contractors. There are also a lot of experienced contractors out there who fix subfloors and foundation. Other contractors had much lower estimates which included fixing both subfloors, tiling, foundation, and anything that could break when you lift the house. A general contractor can fix everything for you. Ram Jack charges much more for only foundation and subfloor. read more

I can't thank Ram Jack enough and in particular, BK. I have been having issues with water leaking into the foundation of my garage for quite some time. I had multiple contractors come out to assess the situation and each gave me a different explanation for the problem and potential solution. It was not until I called Ram Jack and spoke with BK that I received a definitive answer as to the source of the problem and the correct way to fix the problem. I normally do not post reviews, but after my interactions with Ram Jack I knew I had to say something. From the moment I called Ram Jack in early October, I met with the most professional, knowledgeable, and friendly people to help me with my foundation problem. When I spoke with them, they made me feel that they would be able to fix my issues, no problem. I also never felt pressured to use them as a company, they only wanted to provide me with information. When I met James, to do the initial walk through, he was professional and funny. He was realistic about expectations and provided so much information about our issues, the company, and what exactly they would do. He showed us step by step how exactly they were going to fix the issue and what else needed to be done. Javier was a great foreman, every morning at 7AM he would speak with me about what was going on that day and then would walk the property with my husband as I ran off to work. We always felt confident about what was going on and the fact they only took three days to do the work is amazing! The true hero of the day was the General Manager BK Ammenwerth, not only did he call me with weekly updates just to give me an understanding where they were, what the status of the permits were, who would be coming to the house, what was going to be done, what time table I should be looking at, etc., but he went out of his way to respond to me outside of normal business hours. The rep came to our door, not wearing a face covering. He then came in close proximity to an elderly family member without asking permission, and then shook hands with that person. I quickly led him to the backyard to survey our foundation issue. We talked about, maybe, bringing him into our house to look at other potential repairs. We have some significant concrete crackings from driveway to garage. Some of the cracks have a 2" height between the plates. It raised our concern on the foundation. We were originally looking for a 'concrete' guy, but was luckily referred to James at Nor Cal Ram Jack. They directly reached out to my tenant for appt and followed up with an email cfm, and reminder the day before. I am purchasing an old home to renovate. Both the homeowners and myself found a large crack in the slab foundation of an addition. We agreed to get an inspection done to see what needed to be done and how much to repair it. We called Ram Jack. They told me it would be $1000 to inspect the home since we were in contract on the house. But it would be free if we were not. I explained that all parties wanted to get the inspection report done, and they still wanted $1000. But if I were to buy the house without getting an inspection, it would be free. Our home was showing multiple cracks in the stucco along with a short flake off on the concrete foundation stem wall. The Ram Jack Techncican electronically & GPS measured our master bedroom wall where the cracks are and showed that there was only negative 0.1 deflection which proved no problem with foundation !! I have not personally used NorCal Ram Jack (yet) but my experience thus far has been nothing short of amazing. I called BK about inspecting our foundation due to moisture intrusion issues that have been ongoing for 6+ months. We have had multiple contractors and plumbers keep telling us this was "normal" and that we just needed a sump pump or (insert other waterproofing method here). My gut was telling me we still had not solved the root of the issue and BK spent maybe 20-30+ minutes on the phone with me, looking up my home on Google maps and giving me advice on what to do next (look outside the home for leaks). Kid you not, 1 month later the city comes out and finds 2 burst pipes running right in front of our home. If it weren't for BK I never would have known to press the issue and file a complaint with the city. It is a rare experience you come across someone so helpful and willing to take their time to help. Unfort;unately i can't provide feedback on actual work since i have yet to get an inspection report after two months and two different estimators coming to the house. The first one, Clayton wouldn't go under the house to complete the inspection. When we called to have him come back out he said he would call us on the following Monday or Tuesday to complete the inspection. We never from heard from him so we called the office to inquire. They apologized and sent someone else out out for another inspection. Charley spent a good two hours doing measurements and going under the house. When he was done he told us some minor issues and a formal inspection report would be given to us within two weeks. It has now been over a month and still no report even after multiple calls to the office. This company is not reliable or responsive. we shouldn't have to keep calling them for our report. read more

Nor Cal Ram Jack recently did some foundation repair at my Elk Grove home. The actual work crew was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. However, the original project manager was fired and the new project manager, who was discourteous and rude made erroneous changes to the initial plans which required significantly more work and increased charges. Once the work was finally completed after seven days, the cement replacement doesn't is sloppy and doesn't match the existing sidewalk. The fence has been re-hung in such a way that I cannot open my gate completely, nor am I able to lock it. My multiple calls and texts to the project manager and the owner, Charlie to have these issues remedied have gone completely unanswered, as well as my request for a warranty of their work. if you're in need of foundation repair, I highly recommend you find another company and stay away from NorCal Ram Jack. When they say an Engineer will come to the job site and get measurements and data Ram Jack's salesman gets this data then sends to an engineer in Washington state. Be sure u look at the drawing they use for the project. We had windows missing plus windows were not in correct place. Etc.. They told us they had permits for the job which they did not. We decided to use another company where an engineer came out, looked and took data. Then the engineer was on site when the actual movement of the foundation occurred.
