Five stars all day!!! My situation started in July 2024 when…read moremy transmission went out on a road trip through Northern California. I was towed into Hartnell Transmission and met Dale. Unfortunately I needed a whole new transmission and had to leave the truck for a few days. Dale was extremely fair and honest, and did a fantastic job rebuilding my transmission. It even came with a 2-year warranty !! Fast forward to this week. The new transmission has been great but we experienced a minor issue. I gave Dale a call and he recommended two transmission shops in Reno where we could take the truck to be checked. The shop I chose stated the transmission was damaged beyond repair due to a clogged air filter and would not be covered under warranty. This made no sense!! I called Dale at Hartnell and relayed the message. Dale assured me that any issues with the new transmission would be covered. Dale called the other shop and ultimately paid for the diagnosis and asked that I take the truck out of that shop and take it to the other for a second opinion. Turns out there is no serious issue after all and the transmission was given a clean bill of health. I appreciate Dale's professionalism and excellent customer service. Now, I wish my transmission never died, but since it did, I'm very happy it ended up at Hartnell transmission. Thank you Dale!!!!!

He came out to our hotel to diagnose the car later that night and returned the next day with parts to fix the alternator. We were back on the road by lunchtime. Roy being a mobile service was such a god send for us as we were traveling with 2 kids and a large dog. We didn't have to Uber back and forth from an auto shop to the hotel and back again which cut out so much stress from an already stressful situation. Tips: I would recommend texting Roy if he doesn't pick up. Depending on the time of day, he can be a one man show and not able to pick up the call right away.

I called around and got Mike who told me to bring it in, they are busy but it might be a quick fix. Paul got involved and did a careful diagnosis of the problem. The pan of course needed to be replaced. More importantly another part inside was bent, and if they could not fix it, I would need a new valve body, the part cost over $1,100 and would take a week to deliver, which Paul thought was ridiculous. He took this on as a challenge to fix the transmission parts without buying a new valve body. He worked hard on it, and in the end was successful! They lie constantly and overcharge, never pulled my trans, put in a used TCM, charged me $3500.00, and gave it back with a large scratch on the fender and a leaky transmission. If I hadn't gotten under the truck and looked it over It would have run out of fluid and burned up, it was leaking that much. don't know who wrote all the good reviews but I think it was Steve or some of his cronies in the shop. Brough the truck to another shop and they immediately found the problem, water intrusion in my idm. this shop is a scam that hides behind the veteran name and I wouldn't let my worst enemy bring their truck to them. 0 stars.
