Once his crew started digging in, the rot turned out to be more than expected (because of course it did), leading to repairs that were, let's say, "character-building" in scope. We hired them at the recommendation of our neighbor who had a good experience with Diamond repainting the exterior of their house. Michael gave us a reasonable quote, in a timely manner. He turned up when he promised and communicated well. He was also happy to work with us to make the entire job a success; we asked for extra scaffolding and 2-3 weeks lead time with the scaffolding to allow our contractor to use it to replace 1/3 of our siding. He was very reasonable about the cost of extra work - we even paid him a little bit more than he asked because it felt right. I think a reasonable contractor is important because once you start the work and you're locked into the contractor you want to know that changes will be easy. Michael's crew were respectful, responsive and a pleasure to have around too. They worked carefully. Last, but not least, we're really happy with the quality of the work. For example, when they were painting the interior of my parents' house, the cat stepped in the paint and one of the crew members cleaned up the cat's paws! And they always made sure my four-year-old daughter had space to move around safely. The quality of their work was amazing as well. My house has a really tricky gable because I have a screened in deck with a clear, polycarbonate roof that runs the length of the house. We spoke with a few other paint companies and everyone everyone else refused to paint the gable because they didn't want to deal with the polycarbonate roof. But who wants to have a freshly painted house with an unpainted gable in a totally different color? Not only did Erik's team paint the gable, they did a beautiful job despite being attacked by a very angry swarm of wasps who were hiding inside the gable vent!
