Update: Stayed at Hyatt Place Itasca with my wife for three…read morenights in early March '26. Booked directly through the Hyatt site, using a prepay non-refundable rate, costing about $100 per night. Some additional things of note from previous stay: + large room with double beds, and a sleeper sofa. + the hotel wasn't full, so rooms were available for early check-in. However, it was clearly marked that early check-in might cost an additional charge, depending on your World of Hyatt Tier. A non member would be charged $50 extra for 09:00 to 13:00 check-in, all the way to no charge if Globalist. I'm noticing this at Hyatt's now. + got a chance to use their breakfast on two of the mornings. It had the two hot dishes (an egg dish and a meat dish), along with assortment of continental breakfast items. One thing I really liked was the make-your-own-waffle machines (two of them). The premixed matter is quite good, and the machine is setup so the waffle are not too dense. + they rolled out a service to make the TV in the room be Google Cast eligible. Any app on your mobile device that has 'cast' enabled, can now send it to the TV. Netflix, Disney, and HBO-Go all worked well. The list of TV channels was good as well, with plenty of basic cable channels. It was also good to hear the local news, though we didn't recognize any familiar faces on the broadcasts. It's been a long time since we lived here. + daily housekeeping is available, but if you don't need it, it can be lowered to a basic refresh on every other day. + I made a mistake and left my backpack in the parking lot while we were leaving. The early morning attendant on duty, did some due diligence to figure out who it belonged to, and then gave me a call on my cell before we had gotten too far. This could have turned into a disaster for me, but everyone involved was very helpful and not judgy. It was really appreciated.

Although it's not centrally located, it is a short drive to the highway entrance and less than 15 min from the mall in Schaumburg. The room itself was comfortable, and the free breakfast, though it was always busy, they seemed good about keeping enough out.

During that time I dined at the restaurant 400 Park bistro many times and used their facilities like the pool and gym often. We had a junior suite which was huge offering a dining room table and a living room area. Microwaves are not in every room but can be requested. When we first got here we made the mistake of not requesting quickly and then the weekend came with many wedding guest and other functions and we were out of luck. This is prime business hotel offering a marketplace that sells Starbucks coffee up until 12 pm each day. The restaurant has a limited menu but good options. I ordered a salad with blackened chicken most days. In the evening the bar gets busy and sometime live music is played during the week. The bartender there are pretty solid, I ordered comso's and glasses of champagne the most. I only order desert once while there, a slice of red velvet cake. It was ok not my fave, I wished I would've gotten chocolate instead. There seems to be a lot of weddings hosted here as well. During the weekends it's bustling with activities. From family reunions, wedding parties or workplace events. Behind the building there is a picturesque man made lake with a walking trail and benches. It offers a great view and place to get your steps in. The hotel is very clean. Our room was serviced everyday unless we declined. The gym which is located on the 12th floor is small but has all the necessary equipment. If you want a bigger gym there is one by the pool that cost $15 a day for a pass. I didn't see the need as the one upstairs had everything I needed. The only hang up is the limited drink options they offer at the check in snack area. I assume it may be because the marketplace sells many juice options but I found myself thirsty many nights when the Marketplace is closed. When I'd come downstairs to purchase something to drink they'd only have water or soda! Not a juice in sight!

When my AC broke earlier this week, I decided to spend a few nights in a hotel while it got serviced. With the Westin being the closest hotel, I chose it for a little "stay-cation". I checked in later in the day (10pm) and got to my room, which was not really cold. I turned down the thermostat and turned up for the fan speed and nothing got colder. I called the front desk, and they said they would send the maintenance person up. About 10 minutes later, the HVAC man came to my room. He took the unit apart and took out an extremely dirty filter and replaced it with a new one. He told me that was likely the issue, and mentioned that my compressor was cold and working well. But also mentioned that there is only one speed on the AC units in the hotel (low) and the three speeds on the thermostat don't do anything. He left and the AC unit never got any colder. The thermostat said 60°, but I don't believe it ever got below 70°-72°. I called to get my room changed and I was told they were all booked. I stayed for two nights and it was fine. Not really fancy, pretty outdated, and just like many other cheaper hotels in the area. The AC never got colder, if you're someone like me who loves the cold AC of a hotel, this Westin is not for you.

It's not connected to the CTA or Metra, so you'll need a car, and the hotel sits in more of an industrial area without restaurants in easy walking distance. Being on the west side of O'Hare, you will hear plane traffic. During the day it's noticeable, but at night it wasn't loud enough to wake me. The hotel itself is older and shows its age with dated hallways, carpets, and elevators, but what it lacks in aesthetics it makes up for in value and service. Rates are often much lower than other Hilton options near the airport, and every staff member I interacted with -- from the front desk to housekeeping to the bar staff -- was genuinely friendly. The property features a fitness center and a surprisingly large indoor pool (one of the longest I've seen at a Hilton), though there's no hot tub. The restaurant serves typical pub-style food -- I've tried the burgers, sweet potato fries, and quesadillas, all of which were decent and convenient when you don't feel like driving out. Overall, this was my 3rd or 4th stay here, and while the hotel is definitely dated, it's convenient, affordable, and reliable if you just need a place to stay before or after a flight.

Upon arrival, I noticed the mini fridge cabinet door was…read morecracked, there were multiple black hairs on the bed sheets, one of the nightstands was completely empty with no lamp or alarm clock, and the bathroom was missing a makeup mirror that other rooms in our group had. The biggest issue was the bathroom. The toilet clogged or struggled every single time it was flushed. The TV also had a distorted, blurry picture that constantly buffered. It's a very outdated TV. Broken remote, and there are limited channels. No option to use any streaming apps. While the air conditioner cooled the room well, it had bright red and blue flashing lights that blinked throughout the night. I reached out after receiving a text from the hotel asking how everything was. The staff member responded promptly, apologized, and said they would have the issues resolved by the end of the day, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, when I returned to my room that evening, the only change that had been made was that a lamp had been added to the empty nightstand. The room had not been cleaned, the sheets with the hairs had not been changed, the toilet still had the same flushing problem, and the other maintenance issues remained. While I appreciate the courteous response from the staff, I was disappointed that so little was actually addressed after reporting multiple cleanliness and maintenance concerns. I expected much better follow-through, especially since I was staying a second night.

Front desk called manager who was initially minimally responsive. Was told unable to check anyone in but they refused to refund or give vouchers etc. Undetermined wait time. Wouldn't even provide an estimated time- just told to wait indefinitely until they could figure something out. As even more people came in, they finally told us to give our names and cell numbers and told us to wait in vehicles and assured us they will call everyone in sequence once manager arrives, computer is fixed and they can work through the list. Yes- it was that bad. While in my car, I called Marriott customer service line- waiting 25 mins to talk to a live agent- who apologized but said they couldn't refund and refused to give voucher. Said I would have to call booking.com (where I made the reservation) and that they may or may not be able to resolve the dispute. Marriott absolutely refused to take responsibility for the horrible experience!! Said we could either continue to wait in our cars (by this time it was after 10 pm) or lose our money and go somewhere else. To top it off, once they had the computers going they failed to call anyone. They said they figured people would just come in and check on their own. They didn't follow their own makeshift method for working through the problem, causing even more delays. Finally got a room close to midnight. Front desk was testy, inpatient, rude. Additionally, they were fully booked and very inadequate parking space in their lot. Many people makeshift parking etc. Horrible experience. Don't stay here.
