Today I went into Nordstrom Santa Anita to pick up a few items in the lingerie department. I had a little bit of time this afternoon, but not much and made my way over to the Individualist/Designer department. There are a couple of men that work there that are fantastic with CS. This afternoon was no exception, however when I was ready to depart, my sales associate had a line up at the register. I needed to get to my Mother's assisted care living in Pasadena and realized that I had spent a little to much time in the dressing room. I was in-between two Farm Rio tops. Since I was short on time I walked over to the next Designer register. Where a woman was just standing there doing absolutely nothing. I asked her if she minded to hold the two items until the next day. She 'quipped' ..."We don't hold anything. We don't have enough stock and it is limited." She literally 'barked' this at me. I was holding a Nordstrom bag from my previous purchase. I understand there is limted stock - I agree. But she could have been more sales proactive and at least tried to close the sale or ask why on hold. I didn't need to explain to her I was now late for a scheduled visit with my Mother at her CareHome. So I said, oh.... ok ... handed her the two garments and nicely walked away. After visiting my Mother, I was able to log on line, find this blouse at Neiman Marcus for $111 vs $185 at Nordstrom easily. Although I would not have looked around and happily gone back tomorrow to Nordstrom after I'd had time to consider which top I really wanted to purchase. So - she lost the sale. Nordstrom lost the sale to be accurate. Maybe an $185 blouse just doesn't cut it anymore in the Designer Department. Bah hum bug to a store that used to pride itself on Customer Service. But mostly to this woman who was totally unhelpful. read more

I would put no stars if I could (Men Shoes department) , came on the 18th to order some shoes .. ordered a pair of comme de garçon all white converse . Size 9.5 . (Which was the pair I tried on that was their display) I order them , paid , and also got a receipt and he even told me I would receive them before Christmas . I come in today and they check if my shoes were there. Before I get the bad news Christopher N the employee who helped me previously said he called us to say our Order was here before knowing it wasn't , after he changed his statement and said not that they were here that my order got canceled . Got no phone call or email , nothing but he said he called and he didn't get through and couldn't leave a voicemail . Very strange because My phone works my voicemail is connected . Obviously was a lie. Then says they don't come in half sizes.. which was funny because I remembered trying a 9.5 and even saying to my gf why couldn't they give me the display pair , weird but funny thing he said nothing about them not coming in half sizes when I first ordered them . Obviously he forgot to call us ,or forgot to order them , he said because other nordstroms don't want to give up this product . Wow no comment there. So I guess no shoes for Christmas . Probably the worst customer service I had to deal with . A lot of lies , a lot of trying to cover his own ass for his mistake. Even said he would next day air them to me by Monday . Which was funny because they are suppose to be sold out . Question mark I know . I work in luxury retail. I know when an employee is trying to cover their ass. As if I'm clueless and don't see what is going on . Very sad and disappointed. Long time customer is not going to be shopping here anymore. read more

This Nordstrom is nice given that it's located at the Santa Anita Mall. I was really surprised to see a Fendi and a YSL section in the purse area. Extra brownie points for the YSL. I was up at Savvy and it seemed to me that they were low on staff. This poor girl was trying to help me, another lady, and some dressing room chick. Even though she was being pulled in all directions she was very helpful and courteous. This Nordstrom was well maintained and very tidy. The bathroom also had that automatic hygienic hand blowing thingy that dries your hands w/o having to push that big metal button looking thing. Pretty sweet. read more

Most of the selection I found was for 35+, which is fine...but I was looking for something younger. I did find a dress on sale - a cute little black number that was asymmetrical - was $150 but got it for $102. I wish there was more dresses I wanted... I would have given a better rating if I wanted to take the entire store with me... then we're talkin! read more

Love the entire store. If you are unable to find something the fashion sales people will help and find it for you. Any size you want they will either look for it in the backstock room or order. :) read more

This place has VERY deceptive salespeople, which is a shame because my kids love the clothes here. Today I went in to buy dresses for my kids. While checking out the saleswoman invited them to be in the spring "fashion show". For participating they would get a free treat and I would get a coupon to use. She scheduled us for a "fitting" where outfits were vetted for the show. After the fitting this evening we filled out a photography waiver, and paperwok. Only after all of that did she tell me that I had to purchase the outfits right then in order for them to participate. That was never mentioned prior to this, even after she and I had a conversation away from the children. I said no and walked out on principle. Shame on them for trying to trick people into sales and for playing on children's emotions. read more

My first purchase ever at a Nordstrom. I may want to return my purchase purely based on the lack of service. I walked the entire length of store trying to find jewelry. Finally I find it and I walked around 3 times the entire counters. I finally said outloud is there anyone who works here!? Total of ten minutes and not one hello. The person who rung me up took a total of 2 minutes and that was it. I didn't even get to ask for ribbon for the gift purchased because as soon as she handed my receipt she turned away. I guess talking to her coworker was a lot more important. I have her name on the receipt I might as well walk back there and formally complain. Bad first experience at nords. Never again, at least at this location. Work on your greeting Santa Anita. read more

I'm not sure if I'm giving this Nordstrom a mediocre rating because I've worked here in the past and expect a certain level of customer service that my manager had taught me should be good customer service, but unfortunately I do not see it consistent here. I definitely see it in the Customer Service upstairs. It takes a long time to be acknowledged in the Accessories department and I am usually the one trying to find someone to help ring me up. Women's Shoes usually have salespeople standing in the front of the for near the main aisle chatting with each other, without bothering to turn their heads to greet me as I am perusing through the tables. Isn't there still a 3 second rule to greet customers? Their selection of clothes has improved but because the Arcadia Nordstrom is small, they don't have as much inventory as The Grove. I do liked that they revamped and remodeled it so it looks nicer than the Glendale Nordstrom. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I had a suit jacket that I bought at Nordstrom that needed repairs. The lining was starting to come apart at the seams so I took it in to have it repaired. No problem, they took it, called me a week later to notify me it was ready to pick up. I take a look at the suit jacket, try it on, and the lining is still falling apart exactly like I brought it in. They had not touched it! They tried to make it seem like they repaired the jacket, but in reality they did nothing to it. So I brought it back to them again. This is the first time I've seen such a glaring oversight with a Nordstrom. Been shopping with them for years so that makes me think it's just this location that doesn't have it together. read more

The younger staff are extremely nice. Jesus and Shalom? assited me on my purchases and went above and beyond! That being said, the older employees tend to age discriminate. When my girlfriend and I entered the store, we were not welcomed. An older gentleman who worked there looked in confusion as he saw us pass by. We felt uncomfortable but I was determined on finding a suit and dress shoes. When we arrived at the kids section to find a pair of shoes, the younger female employee did a fabulous job getting the sizes I requested. The older woman told the employee to stop helping me because she insisted the other customers were more valuable than me. She screamed at her while the worker was getting my shoes in the stock room. As stated, "Get out of there and help the other customers!" Thankfully she ignored the rude employee and continued to assist me. I ended up purchasing the shoes and a suit. read more

I LOVE HELIA from handbags. She is amazing and patient when I'm indecisive about bags and colors. She also goes above and beyond finding specific bags and colors for me when I know exactly what I want. She's so patient and genuinely wants you to be happy with purchases. She's completely honest about what looks good on you and what doesn't, and doesn't ever try to push anything on you. If you need handbags, see Helia. Such an amazing woman! I wish this site had a rating for the different people that helped me, but because of my experience I had to give it a two. I was told by my friend that Nordstrom had a very awesome return policy and that it doesn't matter when I bought my item as long as the tag is still attached and that the there is nothing wrong with the item they will take it back. She said she bought a pair of shoe that after wearing it for one day it hurt her feet and they still took it back. So I decided well let me see if I can return this $180 dollar dress I bought a while back and was never able to wear because it needed alterations. I went to the dress department yesterday and I saw the dress that I was trying to return so I figure hey they still sell it and my price tag has the Nordstrom return sticker on it, I think I can return this. I went up to the counter and the two girls behind the counter just stared at me and my friend one of them was on the phone she was short with glasses I really wish I would have gotten the names of these two girls, because after I stood there for a minute staring at them the girl with the long hair that was dyed blonde ashy color finally asked if I needed help and I told her I was trying to return my dress and she started the process and she when she couldn't scan the barcode she asked when did I purchase the dress and I said I don't remember it was a really long time ago. She has was it last month was it the month before was it in April and I said I don't remember it was a really long time ago I can only tell you that it was around the winter time. She then asked if I had the credit card I used to purchase the dress, I was pretty sure that it was my Nordstrom card, so she tried looking by using my card and when she was unable to I decided to look through my email and I showed her my receipt, she tried looking with the receipt number but was still unsuccessful so she asked the other girl wearing glasses and that girl looked at the receipt and said oh your purchased this more than two years ago, our system only keeps records for up to two years, then she looked at me and said sorry and then just kept staring at me until I walked away. I went and told my friend what happened and as we left Nordstrom she kept telling me that the staff there is usually really friendly those girls did not seem friendly at all, but I had thought that was normal and she said that they don't have a return policy so I went and looked up the return policy and I did not find anything on their return policy except that they deal with each return based on the situation. Then I decided I was going to just return the dress online and when I realized that online they were going to allow me to return it I decided to go back and talk to someone else. So while I was standing in line I was greeted by Celeste Bell, immediately she asked if I had been helped and when I told her I just had a question regarding your return policy and I told her what had happened right away she apologized for the way I was treated she took my dress and tried to look it up and when she couldn't get the system to do the return she called someone from Nordstrom online and she kept apologizing for the wait even though it was not her fault and I could hear everything she was trying to do to help me return my item. And when she was only able to get me the amount of the item she called customer service to make sure the system paid me back the tax that I paid on it as well. And when I realized that I did not used my Nordstrom card to pay for the item and I didn't bring the card I used, she immediately asked if I wanted the money on a gift card instead and again she apologized for the wait. Celeste Bell made my experience so much better yesterday and I hope she gets recognized for her awesome customer service and her awesome effort to go the extra mile for a customer that was making a return and not a sale someone she wasn't going to make any commission on. The next time I go to Nordstrom and look for a dress, I'm going to Celeste. I also want to thank Anna A. from where the Marc Jacob and Tory Burch purse section is because she made my purchase that day an easy one. Her system didn't take the Nordstrom note, but she turn it into a gift card and ordered the purse I wanted in the color I wanted and was friendly the entire time. Thank you Celeste Bell and Anna A. for making my trip there better after it was ruined earlier by the other two employees. read more

Came today to the mall because I wanted to buy a couple of shoes and apparel. I was very surprised that this location have more variety of high end sneakers like Gucci Aces. However, I am very disappointed with my visit. LITERALLY THERE WERE ABOUT 6 EMPLOYEES IN THE SHOE SECTION(or maybe more) and nobody asked me if I needed help or something. Some of them just talk to each other or stared at you and walk away. I was the ONLY person in the shoe section and not even a simple word. I am not sure if they were sales associates or security guards because they were starring at me and others just ignoring me. There was another employee seating in the chairs!!! I walked away because I felt ignored and and uncomfortable by the associates starring at me. I don't know if Nordstrom needs to hire employees with better customer service or I just have to dress nicer next time so they don't judge. Maybe I will just keep shopping at Barney's or Bloomingdales! read more

I recently went into the Nordstrom store on Santa Anita to purchase a coat. I did my homework online and was pleased to see several coats in the $250. to $350. price range. (For me this is a lot.) I went in with my daughter to shop. It was her birthday, yet she was excited to help me pick out a coat. I asked one salesperson, and she said she would hook me up with the coat expert. I told the "coat expert" that I was looking for a semi-fitted trench coat in the $300. price range. She gave me a look as though I'd come in with a corn cob pipe asking where the bib overalls were. She motioned with her hand and told me, "There are some sale coats you could look at." She also asked me what I meant by"semi-fitted." ----- We left. I ordered a coat from Nordstrom online. It arrived and is too big. I called to return it for a smaller size. I was on the phone with a representative for about 15 minutes. She said I had not received a coat. I gave her the order number. She said they don't carry that coat. I got the feeling that her skills and level of English language kept her from helping me. (Not her fault) Eventually, she let me know that she could not help me and suggested I return it at the store, which I am going to do. That said, I do not think I am going to order the smaller size. The sales woman looked inconvenienced and annoyed and had such a terrible attitude. Won't be going back to that Chanel counter again. Thank god they have an online store. read more

We always park on this side of the Westfield Mall, and enter the mall through Nordstrom. Displays are clean and well lit. Staff is super helpful and eager. As with many Nordstroms, the prices are a bit higher than my budget. This location is 2 stories and features a Cafe. The only complaint I would make about this location is that the Men's section is not quite as diverse as the womens. read more

Don't know why they only have 3.5 stars. I always have great experience with the vendors and they are all nice and sweet. Especially Clarins Kat and the people in handbag session! The only drawback is sometimes you feel pushy some sales want you to buy from them but it is the nature of the business. Over all I love nordstrom in Arcadia. read more

I don't come to this store often, actually I never do because it's too pricey for me. Well anyway, I did stop in this past weekend because I was looking for a gift for my bf. In every department I paused at- cologne, men's, women's, and purses, I was greeted and helped. Yeah, it's pricey but I guess you get some of what you pay for in the customer service. On top of that, I found my gift and was talking to the sales guy about an issue I had with another store and he actually gave it some thought and gave me advice on how to deal with it. His advice worked, so even better! His service helped me with this store and another store. read more

What a rude terrible experience. Nordstroms is supposed to be known for their fabulous customer service... I did not have this pleasure. The staff was rather rude to me. And while waiting for the cash register, the cashier ignored me while she socialized with someone that was not purchasing anything. The person waved me ahead and said , "Oh, she and I are just talking she'll check you out while we chat.". Cashier didn't even greet me and it took literally about 10min of her gaping at her friends story to check out my ONE article of clothing. I am unhappy!!! read more

I love Nordstrom for their variety of brands and the values. What I don't love about this particular branch is the fact that their non-Asian sale associates tend to be quite prejudiced. I went shopping here one day without make up, in flip flops so I looked 15.. and of course I had to stand there waiting to catch someone's eyes just so I can buy a Burberry bag. Next time I went fully dressed and made up and got offered help from 3 different people. You're located in the heart of Arcadia so your clientele are bound to look younger than their age, so get with it Nordstrom! read more

This Nordstrom isn't always my favorite in customer service but yesterday's trip most definitely made it special. I went in looking for a specific type bb cream from Lancôme due to them not selling it at Sephora anymore. I felt super weird just leaving with samples, my first time not actually purchasing anything. Crazy. Anyway a lovely girl helped me out by the name of Fiona. She made me feel so welcomed & was so very helpful! I wish each employee was as sweet & professional as her! She took the time to show me what I originally had come in for as well as several other products that piqued my interest. She had the most amazing skin so of course I had to ask what she used. Answered all my questions without being bothered by them. So amazing! So far I am loving everything! Their alterations department is so horrible. Long story short. I had to take my dress back 3 times bc they couldn't get it right. The lead in the department (I believe her name is Annie) is very rude and no matter how I explained what I wanted done she WOULD NOT listen and instead would say something unrelated to what I was asking them to do. I was kept waiting for 45 minutes until I finally lost it and went back in my dressing room to take the dress off and my poor boyfriend stepped in to defuse the situation and she told him 'no no I can do what she asked but she's already taking the dress off sooooo...' and then when he said 'well she's been in here for 45 minutes and you guys weren't able to help her' she started making excuses about how she wasn't the person who made the first set of alternations. No accountability, no attempt to make it right. Not to mention Annie (if that's her name) was the person who performed the second set of alterations AND SHE RUINED THE DRESS. I'm well-endowed in the chest area, she widened the straps on my dress so much that my girls are on full display and there's nothing I can do, the wedding is next week and I'm SOL. I'm never getting alterations done at this location ever again read more

My review is targeted towards the women's section in front of Topshop (Topshop service is consistently pleasant) and the one aside of it. I'm a regular customer at this Nordstrom because it's the nearest to me. I have purchased numerous of time in these two sections but I finally felt that it is necessary to write a review about their customer service in these two sections. Regularly I am encountered with condescending employees with unnecessary remarks. I like the clothing there and love to browse around but lately I have been avoiding that areas because of the unpleasant experiences I've had. I should no longer tolerate that if I am spending my money. I've experienced a friendlier and more pleasant customer service at other Nordstroms. Recruiters for this Nordstrom should do a better job at hiring. read more

This review is solely for the Manager @ Jo Malone London, Veronica Martijena! Please pass along my kind words to her, if possible! I had two negative experiences at JML in Brea (closest Nordstrom location to me/see my Nordstrom Brea review), and I often frequent Arcadia since my bf lives here, so I decided to come here instead for my exchange because I was left feeling dissatisfied both times at Brea. Veronica was the only SA there and I explained to her that I didn't "love" my purchase because the previous SA at another location wasn't very friendly. She understood and apologized on her behalf and assisted me in finding a new item/fragrance. I ended up with two large bottles and she wrapped them in JML signature boxes and gift bag! She made me feel extremely luxurious and more than happy with my purchase! She was so helpful and patient and so understanding of customer's needs. I've never had an "excellent" customer service at Nordstrom until I came across her (other times weren't bad but just not excellent). I returned another day with my friend because one of the bottles had a crooked label and I'm OCD about things on my vanity, so it bothered me a bit when placed against other bottles of JML. I explained it to her and instead of judging me (like I expected most SA to do), she went above and beyond to look for a new 'perfect' bottle for me!!! I cannot compliment her enough. They didn't have any in stock that day but she asked me to leave my phone number and she would call me when they get more in stock so I can pick my "perfect" bottle - I know I'm picky :( but nonetheless, she was so happy to help and did not mind and I cannot thank her enough for not making me feel like a hassle! I would highly recommend anyone who needs JML to go to her!! She's my favorite Nordstrom SA and I would buy more Jo Malone just because she is such a lovely person! Haha. I would not mind passing this along to corporate as well :) read more
