It wasn't the most expensive bag, about $700+ but just 2 years use and it literately broke. I brought it back to see if it can be repaired but they said there was nothing they can do about it and because the age of the bag they cannot exchange it either. I generally love Nordstrom and the people who work there but my recent experience with the cosmetics depart bumped my opinion of them waaaaay down. If I could, I would give separate ratings for the shoe department (five stars) and the cosmetics department (no stars!!). I bought makeup at the Chanel counter and got mediocre service. She was polite to help me but did a poor job of actually applying it to my face to test out the shade. She also didn't try to sell me more but shouldn't they ask if I needed anything else? Aren't they on commission? All in all, it was an okay experience. The worst part of my shopping was purchasing a foundation brush. Everyone at the MAC counter ignored me so I decided to go to the Bobbi Brown counter. There I was ignored as well. I stood in front of the two women having a personal conversation. If I could have grabbed the brush myself and checked out at a register, I would have, but that wasn't an option. I should have interrupted their conversation sooner. "Excuse me miss. Your co-worker is right. If you can't share a bed with your boyfriend, you need to use two blankets instead one. Also, I don't know what he gave you but you should get that thing with your ear checked out." Yes, yes, I should have spoken up but I wasn't in the mood and I also wanted to see how long it would take them to notice me. Finally, they finished but even then, the woman seemed confused that I would even be asking her for something behind the counter. Ugh. Shopping for makeup is suppose to be fun but I left Nordstrom with a little bit of bitterness. Maybe I should stick to Sephora. read more

I'm very upset and disappointed with Nordstrom's alteration department. I was referred to have my prom dressed altered at Nordstrom. At the alteration, they trimmed the bottom and took some material from the strap. The total cost of the alteration was around $85. When I picked up the dress it was too tight around the area because the strap was pulled too high. Proceeding this situation I went back to alterations to see if they could do anything about the mistake. They wanted to charge me $20 extra to fix it on top of the $85 I had already paid for the alteration. I truly don't think it is fair that they wanted to charge me more on top of what I had already paid. I highly DO NOT recommend alterations from here because they only care if the dress was purchased at Nordstrom and if it was not they will charge you to make more money. read more

I was in and out within five minutes. I can definitely tell the associates love working at Nordstrom's because they're always cheery! Have been a Nordstrom Icon member for a couple of years, this location just keeps disappointing me again and again. The service in this location just getting worse. I went today to use my $50 gift card (it's a kind of icon member benefit and will be expired after 12/31) from Nordstrom, and I was planning to buy new shoes or some skincare products. I stood there for at least 20 minutes without any service, the store did not crow. I started in the shoe department, workers there were busy talking to their co-workers or busy with their phones, and when I finally found someone to help me, they did not have my size, just like usual, they always do not have it. Then I had to go cosmetic department, and even though there were not many customers, I still got no service. I wasted my time in this location for almost 1.5 hours for nothing, I ended up buying a skincare product I did not even like so I don't waste my benefit. After today's experience, I will never come to this location to buy any shoes or skincare products. I will go to Brea mall or South Coast Plaza's Nordstrom, the worst service ever! read more

This review is strictly for the Clarins Spa on the Nordstrom premises: I went in one afternoon with my mother to have facial treatments done. I chose to add on the extra neck/hand package for my mother. Later, I find out not only did the aesthetician not give my mother the hand/neck package, but the same aesthetician attempted to go on with my own facial without removing my makeup first--step one in any facial experience. It wasn't until I said something did the aesthetician remove my eye makeup, saying something about not knowing whether or not I'd be "out and about" afterward. I'm not the complaining type (nor am I really the negative Yelp review type), but these two major mistakes on top of each other just didn't settle well with me. After sending an email to Clarins corporate, I received a bizarre phone call from a manager at the Clarins Nordstrom counter: She offered me a refund (totally not necessary) and there was no apology. I asked for the aesthetician's explanation as to what happened and she claimed she did give my mother her extra features. Was my mother lying then? But here's the really strange part: When I asked why the aesthetician did not bother removing my makeup first, she first told her manager that she did not know I was wearing any. (Never mind the fact that I had on thick, jet black eyeliner.) When pressed about how odd of an excuse this was, the manager responded that the aesthetician had remarked that "Asian women wear false eyelashes" that can't be mixed with oils--not really sure what my ethnic background (or, uh, an entire continent of women) has to do with my makeup choices here. I asked if I had not been of Asian-American descent that I would've received a better facial experience--and, at the very least, couldn't she have asked if I was indeed wearing false lashes? (I definitely wasn't, and barely have any eyelashes to begin with.) The manager was flustered but there was nary an apology. A major disappointment considering how long I've been patronizing Clarins and Clarins spas all across the country. Won't be returning. Clarins corporate still has not bothered to respond to my second complaint regarding the Asian remark as well. read more

Nodstoms is great, but sometimes their employees are not welcoming. For example an employee named Linda .B who works for the FRAGRANCE department. When u are there asking her about colognes, she rudely makes you feel like you don't deserve a sample. She has the nerve to pressure you to purchase $400 bottles without sampling them, saying "I dont know why you dont just buy it now"... and if you dare ask for a sample, she goes on about how she has given samples away in the past and never sees the person again. How rude! As if you are now beholden to come back and purchase if you took a sample. Now, I usually buy many expensive colognes but never will I buy from her! Why buy from someone who tries to guilt trip a customer into purchasing?! Finally she gave me a couple of samples and limits it to 3!! Literally saying I could have no more! And of the tiny little sample bottles she gave me, she took precautions to fill it up only about 1/4 of the way. I'M LIKE ARE YOU KIDDING ME LADY?!?! You would think she is giving a sample right from her personal collection at home! It's ridiculous! NODSTROMS, Please retrain this employee. It's not YOUR job LINDA .B to police the tester bottles and regulate the samples given out. What's wrong with you?! You are offending AND driving away customers! Mind you, not every fragrance sales rep is as rude. For example Veronica DelaTore from the Jo Malone counter or Christine from the Tom Ford counter are completely welcoming and make you desire to purchase from them just based off of how sweet they are. They takes their time explaining every scent and offers you as many samples as you need to feel comfortable AND they fill the small sample bottles up so you can make an informed decision. I will purchase so much from those 2, simply based on their good customer service! But this Linda lady has got some nerve!!! read more

Very disappointed. Few things in life are as iron-clad as the Nordstrom return policy but I guess all good things must come to an end. I bought a pair of Converse shoes 7 months ago and wore them about twice a week. A few months ago the rubber started separating from the shoe and the inside heel was coming off. I tried to exchange for a new pair today, explaining this should not be happening to shoes that are only worn a couple of times a week. All I got from them, especially the manager was "It is normal wear and tear, sorry!". Totally bogus. My review is for Mary S that just "helped" me find makeup at the Nars counter. I'm getting married this weekend and wanted to pick up a few treats for my bridal look. I came in asking if Nars had a waterproof mascara, to which she replied "I don't know" but she was able to steer me to one of the most expensive mascaras on the market... I asked if Bobbi Brown perhaps had one, to which I was met with the same response. She took me over and was reading the mascaras and said there wasn't one- until I pointed it out to her. I asked for her opinion on a nice everyday lip color that would match my natural lip color, again she replied, "I don't know what colors do you like?" I would like a color like I described, thank you. I left frustrated with no lip color because I was apparently under the crazy impression that the makeup artists are licensed, know their product, and can help me with suggestions. This ND can suck it. I went to the La Mer counter tonight to get me a lip balm. The lady was waiting on this affluent-LOOKING person who was shopping around for skincare items. I was not greeted. I was not smiled at. Then another lady came over and didnt say hello but she also talked to this lady instead. And I asked a question about the lipbalm I wanted and she said "no" and kept looking at the lady. Kinda like Milhouse and the swimming pool. I am super tempted to call and complain. This is a great store like most Nordstroms, they carry everything and what is not to like about all the great high end label brands in every department you can think of. From all the different designers i could spend the entire day there and never get tired, and they have something for everyone from men, boys, women, teens, girls, infants: shoes, make-up, purses, lingerie, coats,jewelry, accessories, suits, ....i could go on and on and if they don't have it they will tell you where you can find it. This past weekend was my first time at a Nordstrom, and I purchased a high-end ($600+) Victorinox watch. The watch and the service in that department was no problem, but afterwards, since I have a couple out of town weddings this summer, I figured I'd go get my measurements at the suit department within the store. The employee in the suit department gave me a dirty look when I asked him about my measurements, saying that Nordstrom "doesn't do measurements," and then proceeded to look for other customers to help. Of course, his statement was completely false as they must do measurements since they sell suits! So either this was the rudest employee I've ever encountered at a department store, who outright lied to me, or Nordstrom apparently only sells off-the-rack suits with no option of tailoring, and no potential for the employees to help you determine your size and needs. read more

The worst customer service ever. I sent my new UGGs for cleaning, they gave me someone else's shoes that smell terrible and try to convince me that they are my shoes. How can a size 9 become a size 8 after cleaning? The Dept of Health should hear about this. I'm going to call them and tell them them what's going on there. I would expect poor customer service from other stores but from Nordstrom's I didn't. I always thought that they had a better customer service. Nope, I was wrong. I hope the shoe department does not reflect the quality of customer service of the entire store because it is horrible. WARNING: THIS IS A SHORT STORY It took me over an hour, yes, over an hour to get shoes that I already had my sights set on BEFORE I even walked in. There was no browsing. No looking around. This hour was the single most saddest moment in my shopping ventures, ever. Nordstrom, in my understanding, a more high tier department store. Correct? So, in a higher tier store, one would expect service to be more of better quality. Correct? WRONG. The sales representative ignored me for a good twenty minutes, walking around as he had something more of importance to attend to. When I finally seemed to have gotten his attention, he slowly made his way to me and asked how he could help. In my opinion, I'm a pretty patient person. So, I just waved it off and told him that I needed a size 10.5 for a specific creative recs trim. He nodded then disappeared in the inventory room.........for 30 minutes. When he finally came out, he handed me the box. As soon as he gave me that box, he hurriedly walked away. I opened the box and inside was what started to trigger my annoyance sensors. A pair of shoes that looked like it was on the display rack and had been worn multiple times. I was like OKAY, I HOPE this is just to try on and I would ask for a newer pair if it does fit well. Tried it on. Cool it fits. Tried to get the guy's attention AGAIN (at this point, I realized that this guy was incompetent. That or blind.) Another 8 minutes. Tick tick. He comes over and ask if everything was fine. I ask him if he had a more newer pair and he immediately said that he was unsure. Okay, check. Slightly annoyed, he trotted off back to the inventory room and again disappeared. Twenty minutes pasted and he walked out empty-handed. The funny thing is that he didn't even tell me if they possessed another or not; he just went off to another customer. At this point, I was pissed. I went up to the manager and told him that I have asked for help and was not recieving any. He told me to HOLD ON. I honestly don't like give people attitude, as it saves me and the target person embarassment, but at this point I was very angry. I, again, approached the manager and demanded that I just wanted my shoes and that the other sales associate should be fired. He, finally realizing that a customer was unsatisfied, immediately attended to my needs. New pair of shoes at a slightly reduced price (I'm a sucker for "recompensation") then I stormed out. Happy Ending (for me at the least). If there is one thing this Nordstrom is good at. Its apologies. read more

It was a hot Friday afternoon. Decided to visit this Nordstrom and see what they had to offer. Evidently, their anniversary sale was on full display and I thought this could be a good day, perhaps picking up a few items and a pair of shoes. As I was strolling along, making my way over to men's furnishings and men's shoes, I noticed there were plenty of sales associates roaming around the floor but looking incredibly hostile. It could have been the heat or the busy foot traffic that could have had ruffled their feathers, but as an associate representing such a well-established brand and heritage, I would imagine their attitude would exude the type of energy that is friendly, courteous and personable. I made my round and must have encountered at least 5 different associates and none of them wanted to greet nor offer any type of assistance. Men's shoes was no exception. The entire experience was off-putting and distracting. As I started to walk away from the negative energy, I began to wonder if this location was worthy of a second chance... No it isn't. read more

I went to the store to get a price adjustment on a pair of sandals that I had purchased online and the day after I purchased them, the price dropped. So I went to get a price adjustment within 5 days of placing the order and the store refused to do it. I thought this was ridiculous. I even spoke to a "manager". Same answer. I was really disappointed with my last experience. First, I took my son to the restroom and it was disgusting! Trash all over, no toilet paper, filth all over. Second... I have always shopped at Nordstrom because of their incredible customer service and no hassle return policy. Today they refused to accept a return because they said the shoes looked too worn. I was honest and let them know the shoes had indeed been worn for 3 months in hopes I would get used to them however they are just too heavy. They said the shoes looked like they had been worn longer than that and there was nothing they could do. I end up having to walk up to a group of nice dressed people and asking if anyone works here... Surprise surprise they all do but they huddle in groups talking and fixing their suits in the mirrors on the sales floor. This review goes out to Liz in the women's intimates department! I hate shopping for new bras, as I can never find the perfect size or shape. Like many women, I dread having to try on two dozen different bras, only to leave with one or two "that will do." I was spared this fate, however, when I ran into Liz. This fabulous, fashionable and super sweet gal made me feel right at ease. She offered to take my measurements, which I had resisted ever actually doing. But it changed my life! Not only did we figure out my exact size, but she quickly and effortlessly found me two bras that she thought I would like. They were pretty but functional, and gave me shape while not being too heavily padded. And it looked great under my blouse. Hallelujah! Thanks to Liz, I now have a new found confidence that I, too, can find pretty and comfy bras...something I thought was possible only for Victoria's Secret models. I hope Liz gets a raise or promotion, or both! read more

The customer service here is so bad, it's a joke. I literally bee-line to the side of the counter with the register so I can get the hell out of there. Every time I've been here, the sales consultants have shooed me off by throwing a million samples of things I didn't ask for instead of explaining the benefits of the product. The sales people here seem like they truly hate their job! Other occasions I've been here, I've had sales consultants either ignore me while they stare at another consultation & talk amongst themselves. They saw me trying on product, trying to squeeze in between the consultation & counter. The salesperson leading that consultation refused to move and didn't tell their client to make way either so I had to reach over behind them! I was looking at the MB exfoliant when FINALLY one of the chatty sales people come up to me and literally just says "what do you want?" I respond with "hi, I just wanted to know what skin type this exfoliant is for? And what's in it?" She takes a hard long look at the back of the bottle, gives up and hands me a bunch of samples! And I politely say no, repeat my question. She decides to sign me up for a consultation for later in the week. She said she would call to remind me. She never did. Just yesterday, I went in because I was running low. I wanted to pick up the usual cleanser & look at two toners. Some sales woman saw me looking at fragrances with my partner & decided to interrupt our conversation to say hi. Uh, ok. Then as I looked at MB product, she stared at us very closely. It made me uncomfortable, even I know within skincare salesmanship--you don't watch them closely or at least don't make it so noticeable that you're literally standing right in front of them inches away saying nothing! What do you think I'm going to do? Steal something?? Why don't you find out by asking some qualifying questions about my current skincare regimen??? Or I don't know...ask what my skin type is?! Anything! I finally approach her and ask her if they had the special "o" toner, she says no. She makes no attempt to offer other complementary product or find something else for me to purchase. I already had my cleanser in hand so it's not like purchasing wasn't an idea already on the table. I ask the difference between the special "o" toner & the special "c" toner. She doesn't know. She starts reading the description on the back of the bottle! It's embarrassing !!! I just give up so she'll stop. She goes to ring me up and I ask about the GlamGlow, I tell her I have used the "super mud" and the exfoliating one. Both broke me out because of my severe talc allergy. I inquire about the newer mask with green packaging. She says nothing. I ask "I just want to know what ingredients in it make it different from the other two"... She then responds with "I don't know" and attempts to read the description on the back, she pronounced frankincense as "FRANKENSTEIN" I kid you not! Even my partner who doesn't really care for skincare nor does he know what essential oils are--knew that she was being lazy. It was so embarrassing, I quickly thanked her and left. Upon leaving I see the Sisley counter, foolishly I approach it hoping that maybe someone somewhere behind it will blow me away with their customer service skills & my view of this place will change for the better. NOPE! A male sales consultant pops up from the counter, his pupils are dilated, I'm pretty sure he's high on something. He starts to fumble with his words to describe the brand. At least he asked if I've used the products before right? But the qualifying questions stop there! He then passes me two exfoliating gel sachets and tells me "because you're oily". Without asking me what my skin needs are! Doesn't he know you should never assume a client's skin type or run the risk of offending them? Now, I know I'm oily. But I was offended he didn't want to take the time to give me a real consultation & cater sample sachets to my skincare needs! If he did, he would find out that I have peripheral dermatitis so I shouldn't be exfoliating. He also handed me sample sachets of an anti-aging product to which I respond "I don't think I'll be using it, seeing as I'm only 25". It was a joke. Truly embarrassing to be purchasing from this Nordstrom skincare counter. NEVER AGAIN! I think the problem here is that the staff needs to be completely re-trained. Or at least the older generation staff needs to be fired because they seem to run under the outdated method of selling which means stand off-ish, judgmental and pushing product that isn't necessarily right for the client's skin type just to meet goal for the day. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE, NORDSTROM IS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS FOR A GOOD REASON! read more

i tend to not like sales people. they annoy me and i don't like to be bothered when i'm shopping, however, this nordstrom didn't suffocate me like most other nordstrom's do. they just remodeled and i love it and they don't have their sales people creepily follow you around. i was in the savvy section and the girl asked if i needed help, i said i was good and just went back to doing her things. later on when i was walking to the fitting room she came over and said she could get a room for me. didn't hover over me or anything. when i eventually did ask for some help she was really good. she noticed i liked alot of free people clothing and told me there was a bunch of new free people clothes on the sales rack and showed me. which i kind of wish she hadnt... because i spent about 300 dollars there.. haha really friendly, eventually just started making small talk with her. i hope she made some good commision off of me! read more

I don't know what's going on in this Santa Anita Mall location they seem to be very rude and are not very attentive to their customers needs. This review is mainly for the Mac Cosmetic Store, their employees are just very rude. I tried to return a foundation that broke me out and the sales rep basically said they can't take it back due to the fact that the bottle is more than half way used and she said her manager even said I can't return it but for some reason I call Glendale location and they said just bring it in without any questions asked and that they'd take care of it. I mean... Cmon now you guys are the same store why should I get the run around? I then went to Nordstroms customer service and surely they were able to take care of it. This location has really bad customer service and I will NEVER return to this location. The Glendale location has the best customer service. Sad to say even the Mac manager was rude. Nordstrom needs to check their employees in this location because this isn't the first time I had this experience here. read more

somebody go and give olivia from womens intimates a raise! i came in a few days to do some exchanges, and i was worried that itll be difficult or a drag. however olivia helped me through the process. she made sure i was well accommodated and helped explain the whole fitting process. there were times when she couldnt answer all my questions and when she wasnt too sure herself, but instead of giving me half-tried answers or giving me bad advice, she told me she straight out told me she wasnt too sure, so she wanted to get the manager to confirm. that there was true customer service. im sure everyone experienced times when the sales associates dont know what the hell theyre doing but act and speak as if they do, and ends up screwing you over. which is why i had to do the exchange... i did walk around the store, but i didnt get any great service aside from that area. everyone else seemed to be snobby. and just in case you didnt know, this place has a great return policy anyways. so shop with confidence. read more

Everyone that works here is nice, professional, and friendly. They great you with a smile, try their best to assist you, and offer free consultations. There is a great variety of fragrances, beauty products, shoes, accessories, and other products to choose from. Chinh and Nessa are very nice and can help you in the fragrance department. Ana is a nice lady that works for Shiseido. I sample products from La Mer as well. The security is friendly and even the people in the shoe department remember my name. Today I lost my wallet and I let customer service know that it was missing. They called me back within an hour to let me know they found it. I was super worried and stressed but they took care of me. I would like to say that this is my favorite Nordstrom location in California and that they have great customer service and great attitudes.
