Went here with my groupon hoping to sack a quick deal during lunch. Quick? No. Deals? Yes. Lines were long, and crowded holiday shoppers were picking over everything but I spotted many $200 Cole Haan shoes for $65, Juicy Couture, Michael Kors, Coach, and Dooney Handbags for $49-$79 bucks. I didn't purchase anything this visit but will return when I have more time to digg deeper. This was my first visit and I was suprised to see the store setup much like a Ross or Marshalls inside. Spent several hundred dollars, Donald P gets to me every time. Grabbed the bags and carried them to my car on this particular day I whizzed in and out of the parking lot with no fear. After making 3 stops by the time I wheeled into the garage popped the trunk, you guessed it the bag with the Donald P boots was not in my itty bitty trunk. Called and talked with an operator that said they had a tape of me carrying the bags to the car, asked them could I see that same tape as I was missing almost $200 of merchandise. Manager called me the next day, the same man that had sold me 3 pairs of men's pants and said that he would credit my card for the missing merchandise that apparently vanished. Has that credit come through yet, nope! Will not return other stores need my $ more. Has this occurred to others? Had heard there was a scam of this sort but did not expect it from this establishment, boo hoo, will revisit this issue when my credit card shows the credit came through. I have been a fan of the Rack before it even hit Houston. I would stock up on jeans and shoes when I visited west coast! Today and the past few visits to Galleria rack have been a huge disappointment. 1- the music is loud and annoying. 2- merchandise is lacking in name brand 3- shoes are predominantly cheaper brands 4- kids (boys) no variety. I'm taking my business else where. I have visited Sugar Land location and its a bit better. The music is softer and not intrusive. read more

One of the few fun things about the NYC subway system is the internal running commentary you get to have about the atrocious outfits you see (and this is really only a silver lining of a troll-shaped cloud). Like, "Stop, drop, and roll, because damnnnn, you are flaming." Or, "At least that hideous outfit takes the attention away from her face." Living in New York, you are licensed to think such unkind thoughts without a modicum of guilt. I've missed being able to do so, so imagine my delight when I was at the shoe section of Nordstrom Rack. "Did this designer just shit stones one day and decide to paste them onto some shoes?" "Save the ankle cuffs* for the bedroom, Jesus...." *Note: Shoes with ankle cuffs can be cute--depending on the rest of the shoe. Despite some of the monstrosities seen in the shoe section, I actually found Nordstrom Rack to be rather palatable. I don't shop at places like Marshall's because of the thrift store ambiance and the work involved. Well, very little work, because I can just do a lap down each row (hideous colors, I'm not trying to dress like my mom, ugh, suburban soccer mom chic is so not in, did a pom pom explode? 30 seconds each row, out in five minutes). When I have spotted something workable, the clothes are altogether flimsy and don't look like they could last two washes. Thus, I was pleasantly surprised to find various brands I recognize and some I would buy from--which makes sense, as Nordstrom Rack gets the Nordstrom castoffs. In addition to a slew of the brands that populate department stores but not boutiques (e.g. DKNY Jeans, Calvin Klein, other unknowns), you've got your jersey-based tees with James Perse, Ella Moss, and Splendid (and stripes, so many stripes--who needs to wear that many stripes, besides an old-school inmate? good lord); mid-range stuff, such as Willow and Clay, Bailey 44, Patterson J. Kincaid, and Vince (with Vince, mostly basics--none of the expensive sweaters or jackets); higher range stuff which normally retail for $100-300 (the tops, at least), such as Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent, Haute Hippie, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Winter Kate, and Elizabeth & James. The more high-end the brand, the fewer items there are, and, half the time, those items are on the basic end of things (i.e. button downs or tees, as opposed to a top with chiffon overlay or other adornments). Denim brands are mid-range (for premium denim) and more universal (so nothing like Acne, MiH, or William Rast). There are dedicated racks for True Religion (those back pockets *shudder*), Joe's Jeans, and Paige Premium Denim, as well as all-encompassing denim racks. These items are organized in circular racks based on size and item type (tops, bottoms, dresses). Some are under a category, which can be straightforward (clearance) or baffling (Individualist--um, okay? I'm shopping at Nordstrom Rack, not bespoking it up). There are also dedicated racks for some brands (e.g. Free People, Lucky, L.A.M.B., cheaper juniors brands). Discounts range from 40-80%. There's a regular shoe section (priced around $30-70 and populated by Steve Madden and...I just tuned out after seeing all that Steve Madden) and a designer shoe section (again, nothing really niche-y), with Stuart Weitzmann, Via Spiga, DVF, Coach, and Vera Wang Lavender. The shoe section is like the clothes section in that you might spot only one item of a fun brand. I was really excited to spot a pair of Leifsdottir flats, which I'd been lusting after in a different pattern, but they were too uncomfortable. Phew! I glossed over the underooskis section, which looked like it had the department store staples (Calvin Klein, Wacoal), but there was a table with Hanky Panky. They are the most comfortable lace thongs--the lace stretches to fit and frame your booty, and it's not crappy lace, where you get holes (leaving you with crotchless underwear or underwear that might give someone the wrong idea--no, sir, that hole isn't an invitation to poke me in the hip). Those Hanky Panks were 50% off--and it's not often you see them on sale, even more to see them on sale for more than 33% off. I had powerwalked over to the beauty section first thing upon seeing row upon row of Kerastase, Bumble & Bumble, and Frederic Fekkai, but it seems that those are full retail price. There are a lot of discounted nail polish (unknown brands and OPI), Burt's Bees, Stila, and, at the moment Twilight Beauty (haha). Nordstrom Rack is somewhat organized, has more carpet and less linoleum, and the dressing room attendants are fairly efficient (in trying on 16 items of clothing--yes, 16, though I wound up getting nothing--I heard one say, "Please bring your clothes and number back when you're done. Thank you," over and over again ). Parking can be a pain. Try not to run over those wandering in and out of Nordstrom Rack and Marshall's, even if what they're wearing looks like roadkill. read more

I had to exchange a Christmas gift from this location. The cashier that helped me was the rudest cashier I have EVER experienced. She didn't ask me anything about the exchange, just started doing everything, ended up exchanging the wrong items and when I told her she forgot to exchange a blanket, she huffed and puffed her way around to fix it. I get that it's a busy time of the year, but at least be normal, NOT rude. In the end, she ended up returning the rest of the amount of what was left of the exchange to the person that gave me the gift. If that wasn't given by my parents, that would've been a really awkward conversation. Not sure if I'll be coming back here. read more

The best location of all the Nordstrom Rack stores. It's a little worn and in disarray most of the time - but that is no comment on the staff as they are always straightening and helping out- this location is just that busy. Like any outlet division of a premium department store the merchandise is a combination of direct buy just for the outlet as well as past season items from the full line stores. You'll find the usual variety of items that Nordstrom carries, the designer brands and their own brands, as well as brands that they don't carry in the regular stores. There is always an interesting combination of men's merchandise, I can't comment at all on the women's. I often find things to buy and invariably do. Perhaps one out of every seven visits I leave empty-handed, but there's always something that catches my eye. And like that long learned ago lesson that we often forget, if you see it and you like it, buy it - It won't be around for long as this location is extremely busy and has the best merchandise. The staff is invariably helpful, and they do have some stars on their staff that are there on every visit and are very helpful in answering questions, checking stock and checking you out. Of course I gave in after multiple suggestions and finally got a Nordstrom card, and I must admit it's kind of worth it because the rate of exchange on points is rather good, I always find myself getting $20 Nordstrom Notes. The concept overall is virtually identical to Saks off fifth, or Neimans last call, they are all second-tier outlets for designer and offbrand/derivative designer merchandise. read more

Picked up a couple of Cavalli dresses at a screaming deal (one was under $200 when they retail over $1200). I was in such "AHH" that I didn't even get a chance to look at the shoes. I don't know why people go crazy for this store. The selection and pricing is not outstanding on anything. Mens clothing is kind of thrown on the displays in no particular order and you kind of hunt through things to find what you want. The displays and layout is like 1970s Sears but he pricing is 2014 weak dollar with low purchasing power. The only thing to buy here are shoes because you can sometimes find a good deal on them. I stress "sometimes" because a majority of the shoes are 90% of full retail which is kind of crazy since these are all one off types that were demos, returns, or discontinued lines that have been handled and tried on by someone else. I would not spend $300+ on a shoe like this. The staff on the sales floor is friendly and the cashiers do keep things moving fast because a single line feeds to the next available cashier. The worst thing about this store is the parking problem. Again, there is nothing special about the stores in this shopping strip. For some reason people think it is really upscale and trendy to be in this location so the parking is full most of the time. You will probably get a dent on your car if you park in the main lot since the spaces are way too compact. The best place to park is in the garage. Drive down on the side of Nordstrom Rack to the west side of the property to get to the garage. It's free and your car stays cool in the shade. read more

I ordered three items on Sept. 15th. I still DO NOT have my items by Sept. 26. Checked tracking number - says it was delivered - it was not. Had to call NR for them to tell me there was a 'glitch' in the system and they would have to resend my items. NR then told me they could not fill 1 item so only 2 could come. I asked for a complete refund due to annoyance in shipping times. They REFUSED to give me a refund, saying I would have to wait until receiving my package. It is now OCTOBER 4th, NO PACKAGE. NR DOES NOT KNOW WHERE MY PACKAGE IS IN TRANSIT (BLAMES USPS). AND REFUSES TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. NORDSTROM RACK STEALS MONEY FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS. read more

There is a lot to choose from here probably because of the location and lots of high end items. The prices aren't really incredibly reduced however, so I still couldn't bring myself to buy much. It will still take you a couple hours to peruse the store I'm sure and the displays are kept relatively neat I guess. read more

I love Nordstrom Rack and pretty much my whole closet is from there, but this location is horrible. I shop in person here and order a lot online because of the convenience of being able to return things that don't fit and exchanging them in store for other items. However, the employees here are SO rude. Anytime I'm purchasing something they are okay, but when I return something they treat me like the biggest inconvenience. After they're done returning something they don't even say anything to me and just stare at me, to the point where I have to say am I done? If it happened once it would be okay but it has happened twice at this location with two different cashiers. Maybe they are trained to be rude to people who do returns, but I spend way more than I return so I will start giving my business to the other area locations. read more

This is decent Nordstrom Rack. The selection is a bit low though. Not as much high quality stuff at other Nordstrom Racks. That's mainly why they don't get 4 stars. If their customer service was spectacular it could have saved them, but again, their customer service was just average at this location. read more

Affordable clothing and accessories all which are bebe name. The only problem i have with this store is the lack of organization.

It's a fun place to drop by just to see what they have new in the store. Things are still on the pricey side but that's what you get for the brand name. I can't say the same for quality though, some dress shirts and pretty clothes are made from crappy material that you can by a replica of it at Ross or Marshalls and get the same fashionable effect. I dropped by yesterday after reading that they are on extended hours during the holiday season. Online it read, Dec 3, 4, 5 closing one hour later so for Sunday it was closing at 8 PM instead of the normal 7 PM. When I arrived they were not letting any more customers in and saying that the holiday hours were going to be applicable from next weekend. So much for corporate professionalism. Other than that, it's a decent place to shop.. I will have to go back to use my GroupOn anyways. read more

I know some hve said this place was a mess when they stopped by but that wasn't the case for me. What bothered me was that there were damaged items prices at $70-$100. Yes they may be designer but when they are torn, stained and have holes, I don't see the point. Also, there was so much junk to sift through such as the damaged stuff, that I've definitely wasted a few hours of my time in this store only to leave with nothing. Will I stop by again? Probably not. This place requires too much time and patience and I didn't notice any big steals. Maybe there is a special day to stop by? Is there some secret ? On one occasion I did find a dress I ended up purchasing online directly from the designer because they didn't have my size. That's the closest I have come to buying anything. read more

The store was clean and organized, and the staff was polite. The best deals here are to be found in the jewelry section. However, this Nordstrom Rack does not have nearly the amazing selection of cute stuff that the one on Westheimer does. I find myself returning items I bought from here only to buy cuter versions at the other store. Also, I expected a higher pricing discount on health and beauty items (like Kerastase). The primary reason I love Nordstrom Rack is because they accept hautelook.com returns. Overall, hautelook (an online sister store) has a much broader, higher quality selection of clothing, shoes, purses, jewelry, you name it. Everything for men, women, and children. The best selection of women's clothing I've ever found at a NR is a store in Austin. Strictly focusing on the merchandise, the Galleria store is just okay. If you like searching through rounders of disheveled and/or picked over clothing while listening to big mouth broads gossiping on their phone, this store is for you. What stands out about this particular location is the staff. Cashiers and managers alike are always so courteous and helpful. read more

I come here mostly for the shoes. If I'm going to spend a little more on something it's going to be shoes and not clothes. They have a wide variety of brands and shoes in my size. I've found a nice pair of nude pumps and some Nike running shoes here. As far as the clothes though, it's a little unorganized and still a little pricey in my opinion. I rather spend less at Marshall's next door for basically the same type of items. I do like their accesories here. I found a gorgeous rose gold watch here for only $50 and they have a good variety of jewelry and sunglasses. Nordstrom Rack isn't a place that I'd go out of my way to shop at but if I'm in the shopping center I might stop by. read more

I went on Friday, the day after they opened. It was busy and packed but not as bad as I expected. Maybe because I went during the day. In the women's jeans section, each brand had it's own cirlce rack with each size separted making it easier to sort through. I bought three pairs of jeans, a dress and some loafers for my boyfriend. All were at decent prize, maybe 30-50% off. They had a lot of shoes too. The dressing room had long lines, but it went by quick. The line for the cashier was longer, but that also went by faster than I expected. I was very happy with my finds. I will come here first to look for something before going to the Nordstrom at the Galleria. read more

Don't come to this location because several cashiers rep are so rude here. They chit chat too much with each other while there's a long line of customers waiting. I witnessed a customer came up to cashier after the other done with their transaction, the cashier told her to step back and wait to be called with a rude attitude. A bunch of employees standing around talking like it's the holiday coming. Gosh, cant stand any of this kind of service. If you want bargain clothing, just look somewhere else. If you are searching for a specific item of clothing, don't count on finding it here. If you are browsing with nothing particular in mind, then this place might be for you. The have a nice selection of premium women's jeans, but nothing for vertically challenged ladies like me, so that's disappointing. Casual costume jewelry is pretty good, too, and a few discounted designer names are locked in a glass case. Check out the back of the store for the deeply discounted (and off-season) clothes for real bargains if you can remember where you put them in your closet for next year. The last time I visited, I bought an Archeology soy candle for $10 for a housewarming gift--so you can find more than just clothing and accessories. read more

I placed an order 12 hours ago, which hasn't been processed or shipped. I looked online to check the status. The sandals are now $10 less. I contacted customer service, and was told they no longer credit for sales promotions. I would have to reorder, pay another shipping charge, and return the more expensive pair. I will NEVER shop at Nordstrom's "wreck" again. ANY other establishment would have kindly refunded the difference. I will shop with those businesses,but NEVER with Nordstrom's again!!! Don't expect to get prices as low as Marshalls or TJMaxx, but you can definitely score a good price on discounted shoes and accessories. I'm a big fan of their dress shoe collection, always a good spot to find a nice color wingtip to step your game up. The fun sock collection is also on point. I wish i could give no stars. This place is filthy, clothes all over the floor, no rhyme or reason to anything. Its like a junk pile all thrown in on place. I was absolutely disgusted. Not only will i never shop in this store, i won't shop Nordstrom rack on line either. Who knows if they are picking things up off the floor and shipping them out. I'm actually between a 3 and 4 on here, but I think it's because for some reason I expect more items at Rack to be cheaper than they are. They actually have a great selection of slightly out of season clothing coming from their Nordstrom stores. The store is organized pretty well; things are easy to find, but you've got to have patience to go through the racks. Like any stores like this, you may walk out with nothing one day, but find everything that you were looking for the next day. This Nordstrom Rack is pretty small. I've been here a handful of times and have only bought a few items. I don't know if it's the size or the layout but it's hard to navigate. Besides my claustrophobia kicking in when shopping here, it's way too packed and the parking can be awful. On the upside, the shoe selection is almost always pretty spot on and the customer service is awesome! I wonder if the employees are well paid or just get a really good discount =) read more

Worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. The manager is a joke. Not only did the store tell me over the phone to come in to exchange the item as the dye started to come off the shoe, but when I drove all the way across town to return the shoes the manager said they can't return the item bc it's used and stated that the sales rep shouldn't have told me I could. As a whole, Nordstrom Rack is awesome!! This location is the worst though!!! Everything is so disorganized. You have to look at every tag to see if something is your size instead of being able to count on the size markers on the rack. My husband and I went the other day and is was chaotic. I had a return to do and I made a purchase. After waiting in line I was finally called to a register. The gentleman that called me up set my return down so that he could joke around with the other cashiers. They laughed and joked for about a minute. Hello!!!!! The reason the line is halfway down the aisle is because the cashiers are goofing around instead of getting to work. When he comes back in front of me he actually says, "they crazy," and gets back to my transaction. Super unprofessional and not what I have come to expect from a Nordstrom company. read more

Just got back from the store! I loved it! At least in terms of shoes. I spent around 2 hours trying shoes. I ended up buying one pair of sandals, but that wasn't because the stuff was not cute (actually, I was surprised most of the shoes were leather) or expensive, but rather because I'm leaving the country in a few months and I'm only look for things which I really need. Still, I am not looking forward to paying for the extra luggage I will have for sure:(. Back to the store, I liked the shoe section in terms of prices and selection. As is the case with most stores in US, in terms of clothes, it is very hard to find my size. The selection for small or extra small size clothes is VERY limited. Also, I'm not a big fan of the style of clothes women my age wear here, and this is precisely the stuff you find here: uni colors, loose tops, no interesting prints. But I guess that's a matter of taste. So yeah, not impressed with the clothes section but the shoes one is definitely worth it! read more
