I just recently noticed this store while driving by, and I did a double take since I could not contain my excitement. I wasn't disappointed once I walked in. It's the off-price version of Nordstrom, so everything you love, but all with awesome discounted prices. They have a wide variety and selection to choose from shoes, purses, accessories, home decor, and even some bath and beauty products. Everything was well organized; it's easy to notice the difference from shopping at other bargain stores such as TJMaxx or Marshall's, where it can be a bit a chaotic. I snagged some sexy shoes, comfy summer dresses, and even found some cute little outfits for my niece and nephew. It takes a short time to stack up your shopping cart here, but at least you know you are getting quality stuff. It also helps to know they offer in-store alterations and tailoring, but it will cost you, unlike the regular Nordstrom, however I would not mind paying for convenience. Just a small warning, I noticed it on the receipt: "All sales are final on Designer and Fine Jewelry Items" so make sure it is worth keeping. read more

I gotta admit- I am not a big shopper. Shopping for clothing is like Navy SEAL exercise for me- get in, shoot to kill, and get the hell out- all under 5 minutes. I know what I want as soon as I see it. I typically hate densely packed stores with clothes strewn all over the place. Discount places like Marshall's and Ross are a REAL turn-off for me. I am not opposed to saving money but rummaging through rack after rack of mostly crap does not meet my definition of shopping. With that I was very skeptical at first of the Rack. Nordstrom has been one of those places that I would go to if I needed something really out of the ordinary. I don't typically rock $200 jeans with a $150 t-shirt to the local taqeuria in my douche bag bimmer, drop a few lines of mangled Spanish to the waitress and claimed I fit in with the locals there... nor do I wear WalMart wife beaters. I'm somewhere in between. The Rack has some really nice higher-end designer clothing at steeply discounted prices. In particular, I found the men's shirts to be particularly compelling and they have a very good selection from which to choose. Other items such as men's slacks, jeans, shoes, etc... were nice but selection was a bit underwhelming when I was there but then again their inventory varies dramatically as they continuously get items from their full retail stores. I was able to score a few very nice shirts and swim trunks at a FRACTION of their retail costs. Based on the savings alone- it's well worth the trip. Unlike the aforementioned discount retailers, 99% of the stuff there is good, high quality gear- not some, made-for-a-discount store brand filler crap that never sold elsewhere. You may not like some of the stuff at the Rack as it might not fit your tastes or style but it's good stuff! Also, the women seem to really dig this place- they flock here! read more

I shop here all the time and so saddened that I had the worst experience today.. My whole wardrobe is practically from here:( I bought a pair of ripped top shop jeans that unfortunately didn't fit the same way when I got home. A week later, with a receipt, I tried returning the jeans... The manager was taking care of me, and was finishing the return, when he asked an employee there to make a tag for the jeans. The employee comes back, and claims the jeans were used, and that the return could not be completed .. with an attitude. The manager just looks at her and agrees. After he examined them himself, and already was processing the return, he just changes his mind. Note... These are ripped jeans that have a used look. I ask if there are any other managers because this one obviously doesn't know how to do his job on his own, and they say yes. I wait about 5 minutes and ask if she's coming? He says no, and that he has the final say and cannot help me anymore. You can probably guess that I was livid because they were treating me like a child. I then tried to comprise and ask for store credit. He said no again. I felt like the people working there hate their jobs. I was treated very poorly and rushed out. The manager, tall dark skinny guy in a suit.. was totally unprofessional and the girls around him seemed to be eye rolling constantly. I don't know who in the world would allow someone like him to manage a store like Nordstrom Rack. EDIT- I was able to return at Nordstrom rack store off of bunker hill. Nothing was wrong w the jeans!!!! No idea why this Nordstrom rack gave me such a difficult time. read more

I found a really cute saffron-colored bracelet here. It perfectly matched a skirt that I was wearing at the time. Although, I often (in my head) refer to the skirt as ladoo-colored after a sugar-rush induced by about a pound of Indian sweets; I was also wearing that skirt. I didn't eat the sweets all at once, but if I did, it was my Birthday and I was driving, so technically, that box of gulab jamun, burfi, and ladoo was fat and carb-free. Back to bracelet and Nordstrom's Rack (NR). Pardon. That bracelet is the only thing that I've found worth buying at NR. Everything else is just so-so; even their accessories and bath products are a bit paltry. Nothing that really grabbed me and said, "Hey, don't forget me!" Well, I once found a cute skirt, but it's trendy season had come and gone. Just not worth the $150+ price tag. As I continued to rummage, I began to wonder. Since Nordstrom's has their own resale shop, what is Marshall's and TJ Maxx going to sell? Would they buy more overstock from Penney's and Palais Royale? Dillard's and Foley's (whatever they're called now)? I suppose the main reason this was brought to my conscious mind, was that I was looking at the "higher end" clothes that Marshall's sells. Only, it was a bit more pricey. I left and went to Marshall's, looked at their horrific line, and headed to Retropolis, lamenting the fact that Houston is Last Call-free. Oh well, at least we have Loehmann's. Just to prepare you in regards to the parking lot, you need to have nerves of steal now to enter, park, and exit with your car and your life. read more

I went two days in a row...the first day was a Saturday, and it was hella crowded and hard to find parking, the next day was Sunday and way more chill. I put my thrift store shopping techniques to work and dug in. You really do have to go hanger by hanger & rack by rack to find the gold, but it is there. Avoid the junior section (shitty materials and dinky cuts) and the middle area that looks like a walmart clothing selection (lots of polyester chiffon, beading and florid prints). I tried on everything in front of a mirror and didn't get too many looks (the dressing rooms here usually had a wait to get in). I stuck to the "Contemporary" section and also the "Career" (had some great jackets and tees.) I scored a $700 leather jacket for $150, a freaking ALL SAINTS SPITALFIELDS leather bag ($500, got it for $130), and an Equipment silk button up ($200, got it for under $70). Plus lots of silk, linen & cashmere tops, and while I could browse a goodwill & come up with the same materials, these selections are actually ON TREND and brand new. I got a pair of the Vince Camuto booties I'd been eying on Revolve for a third of what they are still going for online, and I even got to try them on! The "Dress" racks were way more hit or miss. There were a few gems here (a few gorg silks) but a lot of lower end poly (Marshals-esque?) items and tacky prom dresses. And the annoying teen girls shopping for exactly that. If you know your materials & brands, I think you will like this experience more since you will know when you're getting a good deal. Overheard youngish 20's girls say they were going next door to Marshals where they "had better stuff". I quietly scoffed and was glad of my advanced years and shopping experience. I'm not quite a plus but definitely not an average boutique size, so I was delighted at the availability of items in the 10-14 size range. I wasn't shopping for denim so I can't vouch for that one aspect. Mens section is limited and they don't have much in the way of a size small but that's nothing new. It's what I get for having such a slim & trim husband. Also, the reason I came back was to return a cashmere sweater (BCBG, $200 marked down to $60) that had a tiny hole where the tag had been strained, and the return process was super easy and all of the employees I dealt with were extra nice. I can't wait to go back but I will probably wait a few months to get some new stuff cycled in. read more

I am a Nordstrom member and was told I had $100 in alterations. When I went to go get a pant hemmed that was a little bit different material and a dress cut into a top I was told NO to both. I went to Martin's Tailor and they were able to do it. Extremely disappointed in yalls seamstress. read more

After a few more visits here I will admit I've found some great items. Particularly some Studio Max dresses. I've found the *exact* dress at Macy's for $118, and within the same week I've seen in here for $29.99! Such a deal. These dresses are made so much better than my typical purchases at Old Navy and Target. They wash well and are a great length, meaning work appropriate. I've also purchased a cute top and some OPI nail polish. I also saw a great deal on Urban Decay shadow pallets on sale for $11 when I paid $40 for mine. Such a deal!! read more

Nordstrom Rack isn't going to save you oodles and oodles of money, but every now and then you get walk away getting a great deal. Sunglasses are a good deal, SOME of their purses are a good deal, and their suits and dresses for work are a GREAT deal. They have some simple black/gray/red/navy suits and dresses made my Tahari and Calvin Klein that are a steal at $40. They have some great suits for $129 that would easily run you $250+ in the department stores. The store for the most part is well organized, and neat, but there isn't anything that makes me go WOW! Good for work clothes, and an occasional pair of jeans. The parfume is a decent price, but you can get a better deal at Marshall's. read more

I was totally underwhelmed. I'm not an expensive casual clothes person. If I'm going to spend $100 bucks on one piece of clothing it's going to be something I can wear to work or something very special. Weekend clothes just aren't worth that to me. Nordstrom Rack was dominated by the expensive, "I'm too trendy to have a normal job" look. Keep your $100 jeans. I'll take my Gap jeans I got at Goodwill for $8. I can ROCK some $8 Goodwill jeans. I love coming here for shoes! They always have a good range of shoe sizes, brands, and variety of options (i.e. athletic, heels, sandals, etc.) If you've never been, it feels like a mini-Marshalls. They have beauty products, bedding, children clothing/shoes, teen clothing/shoes, women clothing/shoes, men clothing/shoes, purses, sunglasses, watch, and costume jewelry. During the holidays, they have items for that holiday. Price ranges from $-$$$ depending on the brand and if it's on clearance. read more

Nordstrom rack is a great place to find discounted but quality clothing, shoes and stuff. I could always find sth I like in this location at very good prices. Their inventory changes frequently, which means the things you like go away fast so you have to make up your mind quickly. Typically here I buy sunglasses, cheaper crocks, shoes, jackets and underwear. It's like a upscale version of TJ Maxx or marshalls. Prices overall may be slightly higher than the two but their stuff is generally better. Parking could be hard sometimes but so far I haven't had big headaches finding parking. This is really close to the Galleria and I am surprised it doesn't get crazier normally. Overall I like to go here from time to time when I am looking for sth and ended up buying more than I intended (I guess this is the down side). read more

Love, Love, Love Norstrom Rack!!! Nordstrom's rack carries last season's merchandise that didn't sell in Nordstrom stores. This is better than outlet shopping because you are getting NORDSTROM QUALITY clothing (think Trina Turk, BCBG, Cole-haan, ect.) for half price or less. I don't really "pick" through the discount racks, but stick to racks with major brands that I like (the sales are not as good, but I am usually happier with what I buy). On my first visit, I ended up leaving with two dresses, a belt, two bras, five pairs of underwear, a sweater, and a pair of Seven jeans. Not too shabby for an hour of shopping. FYI, the dressing room line is long, but moves quickly. I was less thrilled by accessories. I didn't find any shoes that I liked... but I haven't been finding shoes I love anywhere recently. I glanced at handbags, and wasn't terribly impressed, but I wasn't overly intent on finding anything there anyways. The only downside is the parking. The Centre at Post Oak is a zoo, especially on weekends. Driver beware, but the sales are worth it! read more

I love buying shoes at Nordstrom rack, they have a huge & great selection of mens shoes at awesome prices, just today I bought a pair of Italian shoes that were on sale for $179.99 instead of $299.99, had I bought those 4 months ago at the regular Nordstrom I would have wasted $120. When I'm at Nordstrom Rack, I'm only looking at a few things. I look at their purses and wallets because they're about 25% cheaper than if you go to Nordstrom. I also look at their beauty/makeup/skincare section because the name brands (NARS, Lorac, Kate Spade) for so much cheaper! I mean, NARS is hardly ever there; I think I've only seen it twice. If you're looking at the standard beauty products, such as NYX, Neutrogena, C.O. Bigelow, Kiehl's, then you're not going to see much in terms of savings. Some of the high value shampoos (Phyto) are cheaper though! I never really find anything in terms of clothes, but my fiance found a Nike tech jacket. So if you want that kind of stuff, I suppose they have it for guys. read more

I would give it a "zero" if I could: today was the last drop. The store has been changing gradually and now it is a totally different store from what it used to be: rude staff, and strange rules: they didn't take back a pair of shoes a week later after purchasing them, with the receipt and the label, and in the original box. The nicest thing about Nordstrom's Rack is its name. The Marshalls next door is better organized and I can usually walk away with something from Marshalls rather than Nordstrom's Rack. Their sizes are limited to large people (by large I mean tall and wide) and I'm petite. So, what I usually end up buying at Nordstrom's Rack is a cardigan from the Junior section. Everything else is huge. It's pretty overpriced for a discount store. If you're under 5'5" and under 150 pounds, good luck finding something here. Sigh. read more

If you are into fashion and bargain hunting this is your store. I needed a suit for an upcoming wedding was able to stop-in and find the perfect Hugo Boss suit and for an amazing deal! The tailor (Young) that works at this location does exceptional work and I highly reccomend using her for any nessary alterations! Great place to pick up accessroies for men such as ties, bowties, dress socks, dress/tennis shoes...etc... sometimes I like to just stop by and treasure hunt/see what I can find...best part is that if you find something you like you can rest assured that you're getting a good deal! read more

Shopped here for the first time last week. I don't ever shop at nordstroms. And the only reason I really decided to go to the rack was because I was given a gift card. I stopped by early on a Wednesday morning. And they were not very busy at all. The department store is quite big, and is split up into women's, men's, kids, juniors, shoes, home, purses, etc. I really like how they had a different color for every cardigan, shirt, tank top I saw. The prices are very reasonable and cheap!!! If you've ever shopped at a Ross or Marshals then you will definitely enjoy the rack! It's so organized way more so than those other stores. The last thing I would like to add is, if you are in a hurry and need to check out fast they have workers throughout the store with scanners so you can Just go up to one of them and they will check you out. There was this lady I think her name is Marie who was super friendly and helped me check out. I will be back in the future! read more

I've been to the Nordy's Rack at the Sugarland and Katy locations and this one trumps them all. I feel like this one has the better deals ESPECIALLY if you're a shoe fiend like me. One day, I was able to find a pair of JEFFREY CAMPBELL booties made out of REAL LEATHER for $30 here. I kid you not. I died with happiness. There are nikes here for as low as $35 if you look hard enough. They also have awesome deals on designer bags such as Marc by Marc Jacobs and Rebecca Minkoff. Watches, jewelry, sunglasses- anything you can think of accessory- wise. Clothes- wise there is a variety of things from spanx to prom dresses and everything in between. They even sell designer perfume, hair tools and makeup. The selection here has really expanded since it first opened. This spot is definitely my favorite because of that glorious find! read more

The racks are messy and not organized by size, the "express checkout" lanes aren't staffed and not marked as such so you end up waiting until you can catch an employees eyes to ask. I love Nordstrom Rack. This is definitely my go-to place now for finding great brand name shoes at a discounted price. I've bought Nikes, New Balances, and most recently, a pair of Merrill Stretch Chameleon3's to wear hiking in Hawaii. These hiking shoes were still in stock at REI and Whole Earth Provision for over $100 and I got my in-season pair for $70... and they ended up being the most comfortable hiking shoes ever (when coupled with a quality pair of wool hiking socks). I've also picked up a super comfortable pair of Reefs to lounge about... their clothing selection varies, but they usually have a great variety of stuff (including athletic wear like Nike and adidas) as well as great luggage options. I've seen Tumi laptop bags here at a great discount. Overall, the prices and selection here are just as good if not better than any outlet mall I've ever been to visit... read more

This place reminds me more of Forever 21 and Marshall's than of Nordstrom. You can find a gem here, but you have to really dig and get lucky. As previous reviewers have said, certain sizes have very small selections. I didn't find the quality to look or feel at all the same as that of Nordstrom's other clothing. It feels as though they are making clothing specifically for the store (which I've heard they might actually be doing). This store in particular didn't interest me. I went in and out without buying anything and will not be back. Definitely worth it to save up a little more and get something from Nordstrom itself in my opinion. read more

Gotta love Nordstrom Rack for their better quality for less! I was disappointed by their limited selection of purses.. yes ladies,.. limited. It was a small section. They also don't have athletic clothing for women. This store has most of the basics, but I prefer more options. =( However, the rest of the store was pretty neat and clean. I like how everything was nicely hung on the rack and the sizes were in chronological order. I like the selection of dresses, shirts, jeans, beauty products, shorts, tops, shoes, and more.
