Parking here isn't great, but we managed to find a spot. The selection is large with lots of deals. My husband needed some new shoes for work, and they had the brand he wanted for a lot less. This location has a lot of clearance and big mark downs. Some things are a little more expensive, but they are still way less than at the normal department store. The lady checking us out moved slowly and continued to push us to buy the Nordstrom credit card after we repeatedly said no. A little annoying but no biggie since I know it's her job. read more

I hunted and hunted through their perfume. I wanted a small spray bottle. I knew it might be difficult to find, but behold! I found exactly what I wanted! A set of three tiny spray bottles of one brand I like (though can't remember now what brand). Well, I got home and THEY WEREN'T SPRAY BOTTLES! I checked the box: yep, says they're spray bottles. So I tried to return them, which I thought would be simple because it was within 24 hours, I had the receipt, there was a clear discrepancy between what the box advertised and what was inside---but no. Quite busy with lots to choose from. Parking lot is shared with many different stores. Organization of items (clothes) by size. It still feels like you're treasure hunting since most items aren't always trending now. Once in a while you'll find something spectacular. Shoe section is on point. Can be cluttered! Recently going in I've noticed the store is really clean and organized. I see more signs showing what's on sale or designer labels. The handbag and sunglasses were pretty impressive and at a deep discount. My favorite part is the shoes. I always get in trouble in this section. Lines can get long but plenty of staff to help. I'm gonna give Nordstrom rack a four. For one reason. It's shoe heaven! You can really find decent shoes at really decent prices and let's face it, shoes have become prohibitively expensive and they are an absolute necessity. So, there is real value here in that way. The place can get a little bit out of control/messy and hard to see what's there but that's more because people are pigs. I worked in fashion retail for many years when I was younger and I know how hard it is to keep up on the messes that people leave behind. It's just that it's really bad here. Probably because it's a discount outlet and for whatever reason that seems to give people carte blanche to leave a tornado of destruction whenever they touch something. The other thing is the store security is a little bit overzealous. I mean, I don't think I look like a harden criminal, but I get followed around when I go in there. Sometimes it seems like somebody's sitting on top of my shoulder and that bugs me. It makes me feel a little bit undervalued because not only do I shop at The Rack, but I shop at Nordstrom also and have for many many years. Review of Nordstrom Rack - Salt Lake City (11/22/2025) On Saturday, November 22, 2025, I was shopping at the Nordstrom Rack in Farmington and realized they didn't have the size I needed in a pair of Max Studio pants. When I got home, I called the Salt Lake store to see if they might have them. The woman they connected me with in the women's department--around 5:00 PM--was incredibly helpful. She checked the computer, saw the pants were not available online, and kindly asked if I would hold while she had someone check the floor. She not only found the pants in the size I needed, but also located the matching jacket. I was so grateful for the time and effort she put in. Since they weren't able to hold the items, I drove from Layton to the Salt Lake store right away. Fortunately, the items were there when I arrived, and I was able to make my purchase. (My purchase experience is a different story--see separate review.) Thank you, Nordstrom, for training your employees so well. This young lady was efficient, attentive, and just as capable as the staff at the full-line Nordstrom stores. Her help truly made my day. read more

The Rack used to have some high-quality items at excellent prices, especially in men's shoes, which I shopped for from time to time, but the last few times I shopped there, I found few high quality shoes. Many of the shoes were of poor or average quality (notably the Nordstrom Rack line), and the sale prices on some shoes were about the same price as I could find the same shoe selling for elsewhere: the store had marked up the original price in order to show a an illusory sale price. This Nordstrom Rack has a great selection of mid-range designers in their sale and dress section. Think Staud, Rag & Bone, Alice & Olivia... etc. Parking fills up but there's many lots around. Service is friendly and the lines usually aren't very long. read more

Nordstrom would not issue a refund for a defective necklace because the sale was not recorded on my store credit card. After an hour at the store with two clerks and three online associates, I was told someone online did find a record of my purchase. But the online associate could NOT send the record to the store. I was refused a refund of less than $20 because of the chain's card system. I was a longtime customer but will cancel the card after this terrible experience. I was told I could dispute the decision not to refund the purchase price but was too tired to stay in the store any longer. read more

I'm glad the Sugarhouse Nordstrom rack has upgraded to a bigger space. Honestly, I don't shop too much in the store unless they're having a 25% off clear the rack sale. Every once in a while I find a cool thing for either my kids or myself!! But I do a lot of shopping online and ship to the store for free!! It's amazing the deals you can snag online!! I'm not sure when they moved a couple of doors down to the new digs, but that's what has happened, and it seems they are making a much stronger effort to keep the place tidy. It's still a madhouse in there when people are shopping and picking through the racks, but if you demonstrate just a wee bit of patience, I actually didn't have any trouble with the fitting room situation and for the most part, didn't feel like it was too crowded or chaotic. I found a few things that I had come here specifically looking for, and though there were a lot of people in line in front of me, it moved pretty quickly and I got through ok. After checking out I got to my car and was still doing mental math; something didn't quite add up, so I got out the receipt and compared it to the tags. The tag price was definitely not the receipt price, so I had to head back in to remedy the situation. Indeed, they looked at the tag, scanned the bar code, and the wrong price came up on the register. Very strange. They were able to correct the price and refund the difference, but it was a strange thing to see a printed price with the bar code (not some sticker over the top) and have it ring up incorrectly. They told me that they can also handle that kind of thing over the phone, too, but I'm glad I caught it when I did. Perfectly pleasant folks, but I'd probably try to avoid on a weekend for the crowds and have a plan of what you're looking for when you come in. It's hit or miss, but there are some deals to be had for the patient shopper. read more

I promised my daughter that I would take her shopping for jeans after work yesterday. I found out the hard way that it's not an easy task finding a good fitting pair for a 13 year old. We had tried two different shops previously with no success and decided to rush to Nordstrom rack in sugar house, arriving just 20 minutes before they closed. yes I was that guy, the dreaded last minute shopper. with a broader understanding of the challenge i had at hand, I reluctantly requested the assistance of the nearest staff member. I was relieved that despite being very busy with closing tasks, a young staff worker named Natalie literally dropped everything she was doing to accommodate us in our search. this took me by surprise as I have seldom experienced such a professional level of selfless customer service. She understood I was in above my head and took her time to show us all the best options. Natalie and her team were an absolute class act. Nordstrom Rack used to have a lot of excellent prices on things, esp. shoes, but recently I have found that they inflate the orignal price to give the false impression that the item has a significant discount. When I checked the retail price of some of the shoes I was shopping for, I found that their "sale" price was the retail price at some other stores. And Their Nordstrom Rack brand is just a discount brand; not the quality of the Nordstrom stroe. So, buyer beware. read more

On Sunday, I purchased a few pieces of furniture which I came to pick up next day, there was another truck right outside the front door when you can come furniture I parked 5 feet feet way right at the corner , but since I got there, the ladies were extremely rude with no reason, totally different from the ladies the day before, I usually shop at this location it never happened before, I just don't understand why the need to be rude to for no reason to someone they don't know, I'm extremely disappointed at the service today, they acted almost angry. I previously reviewed the Sandy Nordstrom Rack and said I really don't like this one, and while Sandy remains my favorite, I visited the Sugarhouse location over the weekend, and I was much more pleased than I usually am! Whenever they have their "clear the rack" events (extra 25% off clearance) I try to stop by if I can. This time around they had a very large selection of women's dresses, which are my favorite thing to shop for at Nordstrom Rack. They also had a good amount of accessories and children's clothes. The one warning I have is to get here early. They always seem to have a line for the dressing room, super long check out line, and parking is a nightmare. But I got there right around 10am on Saturday and did not have those issues. read more

Spent 1.5 hrs searching for clothes. Lost track of time. Literally walked up to the fitting room as the loud speaker announced they were closed. I asked if I could quickly try on a few items after letting the staff know I spent almost two hours searching. No it's against policy. I asked for a manager. Same reply. Nordsrom used to offer amazing customer service. Shame on me for expecting them to say "sure, be quick". Shame on me for expecting the customer to be worth offering an exception. I really have to make time to dig through everything to find the gems, but sometimes I do find good things. Today I had a pretty negative experience. I brought back an item to exchange as it was the wrong size, and tried to purchase the same brand & style in a different size. I was past the 45 day return rule by about 20 days but had the receipt in the system. The woman at the checkout was very much by the rules and just matter-of-factly said you are not eligible to return this item. Yes I was past the exact date, but it was nearly an even exchange and I'm not sure why I was being hassled. Today was literally the first time I could make the 30-minute drive there when I wasn't working or single-handedly taking care of my kids. Just not thrilled with the service. Had a great experience here and something different happened upon writing a review. Jamie gave me a call to follow up and see if there was anything else that I would like to share. He thanked me for my review and here I am to share my experiences. The store followed C19 protocols well and the clientele inside were very respectable and courteous. I found what I needed and some things like socks for the holidays, masks at reasonable prices, and some winter wear that I will likely return for in the near future. The variety of shoes was surprisingly satiating in the men's section and the store seemed well kept despite having already been hit by the evening crowd that day. I've sold many items at this particular location, and after quite a few not so great encounters with their buying staff- today definitely took the cake. There was a younger lady working, going through items (I say "going through" very loosely) as I watched her literally dump armfuls of my items into a trash bag without even looking anything. The amount of stuff that I had should've taken at least 45 mins to sort thru- HER "sorting process" took all of 7 mins..Then she proceeds to throw the trash bags full of my stuff on the counter, while most of it falls onto the floor as she's throwing up onto the counter. So I pointed out the fact that my items were falling- so she says "umm I put ur stuff in new trash bags. YOUR WELCOME" then walks away. Definitely will never go back to this location ever. And to the young lady (with absolutely odd/questionable style) working today- I highly recommend switching to part time, if not completely quitting this job so that you can focus on therapy and your mental health- customer service and fashion is not your strong point. read more

This location is definitely better than the Nordstrom Rack in Sandy, but is also busier too (which also means more crowded). Anyways, on this visit, I didn't see anything worth purchasing. But it would be worth visiting again in the future to see if this location gets a new stock of items that I am looking for. By the way the parking situation was rather a challenge, especially with other businesses in the plaza. But if you come here on a weekday, it will probably be okay. read more

This is one of my favorite clothing stores because of the discount prices and the large selection. There are typically a lot of people here and a wait at the register, but if you want a fast checkout and you have a credit card, talk to one of the employees on neon green shirts and they can ring you up with their pocket scanners. Today there are rows upon rows of clearance racks. I love me some deals. I shopped here for a gift for my wife and the staff was quick to approach me and offer their help. I wish they stayed open later, 9pm is the closing time, but they let you shop a while before kicking you out. I also wish there were more men's clothing...but I don't think that will ever happen read more

I stopped by Nordstrom Rack last Sunday and bought a pair of dress shoes I really like. They had a HUGE selection of designer shoes in my size and at prices that were a fraction of the regular cost. The shoes I bought were $30 off the standard price, a good savings in my opinion. Whether you're shopping for men's or women's clothing, shoes, accessories, or toiletries (like perfumes and shampoos), Nordstrom Rack has just about everything you would expect to find a regular Nordstrom store. Andrew and Shane may complain about the prices and bemoan how much better it used to be, but good deals can still be found at this store if you take the time to just look. Are you sure to find something everything you shop? No. But with new inventory coming in every week there is always going to be new deals showing up, so shop here often. read more

This place is chaotic and always makes me sweaty and not feel very great- but the wonderful deals and attire are worth it every time! I've gotten cardigans, sweaters, shorts, boots, jewelry, and Lord knows what else at the Rack, all at wonderful prices. I just have to spread out my visits for the sake of my wallet (too many good finds!) and stress levels (craziness!). The miracle of this place is that even though it's not huge and you can see the whole store at once, I still manage to lose my companions / get lost in there every time -- which holds no bearing on my review, I'm just saying, it's magic. read more

I mean, it has lots of shoes, probably more than the one in sandy, but this one looks a bit older, a bit less taken care of... not because the store is messy, but because it doesn't have enough lighting probably, and the actual space is kinda older. I try to rate chains generally based on how they compare to other chain locations. This Rack is more organized than the ones I'm used to in Downtown Seattle where I live, probably because y'all suburbanites are like, calm and organized. But the staff was far less enthusiastic, willing to help, or even (I hate to judge based on this) but put together. In Seattle, all the Nordie employees are very well put together, even those at the Rack who are required to where some obnoxious Tshirt. The products are vastly the same and the organization was only mildly better, so *** based on poor staff quality. read more

This NR is much more organized than I remember. It used to be a hot mess but today it was clean and organized. The selection of designer shoes was respectable (ok no Manolo's or Jimmy Choo's but where would you wear those to in UT anyway?). They had a great selection of designer jeans, (True Religion for $69). What about some Tory Burch to top things off? They've got it. Purse selection was a little weak. No Rebecca Minkoff to satisfy my craving today. But all in all a great improvement from what it once was. read more

Always been a fan of the Rack... never leave empty handed. Great selection of women's clothes and they have a huge variety of accessories. However, I hate (more like loathe) their new setup. The shoe aisles are so narrow and long, traffic jams form easily. Feels like I am at a flee market. They seriously cut down on their men's selection, and have moved everything into the small, back are of the store... not that that effects me, as I am a female, but it puts a damper on my mood when I listen to my fiance bitch about it :) Lastly, and this has always been a complaint of mine, there is a cashier there who is so damn pushy. I always have to strategically plan how I will not end up at her register. Every single time, she pushes their damn Nordstrom rewards card on me, to the point where I had no choice but to get an attitude with her and tell her to back off. She continued with her shpeil about "ok, I was just trying to help you, I think you should reconsider"... I know how sales work, but it's the Rack. For the last time, I don't need a punch card or credit card or whatever the hell it is. Ring my stuff up, smile, and tell me to have a great day. read more

I usually love popping into the Rack for value gem finds, but this location is just not as easy to navigate, bit messy and has a not so great selection. Bummer since it's got a prime spot in the heart of Sugar House. Wish it got more attention and an upgrade. The staff was got-my-nice-face-on, but less than helpful. As a guy, the selection here is awful. If i were a woman I'd love this place because the selection is great for women, but men are more or less neglected. It used to be great for both genders a few years ago but recently the men's section got downsized. Jeans are hard to find, I tried to find slim straight leg but i gave up after a while because it was so difficult. My girlfriend found great clothes though, at ridiculously good prices. She found a 2 piece Calvin Klein suit for only $80 and a nice formal dress for only $40. I wish I could find clothes like that. The dressing rooms are nice, although the women's gets backed up fairly fast. The men's I got right in every time. I used to find tshirts here fairly easy, but now not so much. The Sandy Rack is much better and bigger. read more
