It has been my misfortune to lose a glove on the worst day of 2024 (so far). The remainder of the picked over section at Nordstrom Rack was predominantly Uggs, and they were very tight. I could pick from Uggs at $90 or Uggs at $49.95. Ugh. I did not want to pay that much because I am always losing gloves. I was sorely tempted by the attractive Valentines Day showcase of candy (candy!) so I may find myself drawn back to this store. read more

This store directly across from Old Orchard is pretty large and has a good selection of items. The shoe section is my favorite, though I wish they had a larger group of 10+ shoes. This Nordstrom rack is hard to like. Reason being is I have yet to encounter a friendly employee and/or manager. The managers are annoyed because the cashiers have to check with them whether or not they can accept a return. The employees are annoyed because they have to go ask the annoyed manager. All of this is on display for all of us in line to watch, mind you. The employees and managers make no effort to hide the fact that they're obviously talking shit about you. Sometimes they will help a customer, and even though the line is long, once the customer has left, the cashier will check their cellphone, or walk just far enough away from the counter for a second so they can mentally prepare for the next "guest." I put that in quotes, because you're not made to feel like a guest at nordy rack. You're made to feel like a piece of crap because they sold you something that had a rip, and since it's been 34 days and not 30 days since your purchase, you're punished, humiliated, accused of causing the rip, and then talked shit about. You'd expect this behavior from the snobs at the Highland Park location, but not from Skokie. You're between a pet store and a discount shoe store for frick's sake. Get over yourselves. Honestly, when my wife is like "you wanna go to Nordstrom rack with me to do some returns and look around?" I have to take a few deep breaths before I say yes and commit to voluntarily opening myself up to the abuse that I will inevitably face, be it them talking shit about me, or just straight up being ignored. They don't even say hello when you walk in the door. You know who does, though? WALMART. It's like Nordstrom is the classy joint where everyone is nice, and Nordstrom Rack is the baby that should've been an abortion, but wasn't, and the parents have regretted that decision ever since. The service is always good and the store is well stocked and organized. It makes for a pleasure full experience. I will return to shop here in the future. Prices are fair for the quality of product they sell. My only minor complaint is that it looked like the bra dept had been scaled back since last time I visited. I really like this location. It is laid out compact compared to other locations as it is downtown, but I always find good shoes here and have found nice clothes as well. The service here is also good. I would prefer other locations for home items, but I definitely prefer this location for shoes. It seems to carry more high end bags and jewelry than some Rack locations. Not as much selection in clearance but still an excellent choice to find quality clothing at decent prices. Make sure you try the stuff on before you buy. But a lot of times there is some sort of defect. One reason why some of the stuff is as cheap as it is. read more

For a Nordstrom Rack store they have a very clean and well kept location and a shockingly good selection of choices for men which is usually not the case at the outlet locations. Every time I visit Chicago I get excited when thinking about going to this store. I think this Nordstrom has a great selection of women's clothes. I've had the luck of finding many great dresses here, including the ones on a nice discount! The shoe selection is smaller but I have generally thought this location has a higher proportion of clearance vs regular discounted shoes. Fabulous all around. This is a nice location, ample parking and this strip mall has other options to combine to your trip like - Panera, Home Goods, Nothin Bundt Cakes and a shoe store (sorry the name escapes me). As for Nordstrom Rack and speaking of shoes, I really do like the shoe selection at Nordstrom Rack. I've been able to find boots, running/gym shoes, water/beach shoes and dress shoes for work. However, some of the made in Italy shoes still seem like full price. Sport jackets, unique T-shirt's, dress shirts and messenger bags - there's a great selection here. The employees are generally happy, helpful and friendly. This location is also across the street from Westfield Old Orchard and that's another big plus if you are being efficient while shopping. read more

It took over 7 days for the order to be delivered and then they returned it without an email or a phone call. There is no explanation why, and suprise suprise, half of my items are not available any more. Nordstrom is my absolute favorite department store and I was thrilled when this Nordstrom Rack opened in this location, across from Old Orchard, a few springs ago. The store is neat, organized, and all staff are friendly and helpful as in Nordstrom tradition. And the bargains! I get most of my work clothes here due to their good selection of designer merchandise, and great prices. And the shoes!! I love that I can shop for my husband and daughter here, too, making it super convenient. I am definitely a fan!! read more

This location is fairly new; it was open back in April 2014. Currently, they are running the promotion of "clear the racks," meaning that there will be an additional 25% off on all red-tag merchandize, until January 4th., 2015. Yes, that's when Rosa J. surfaces and hopefully clears the racks for the store. Nevertheless, I didn't purchase anything because I didn't see any item that I REALLY wanted. It didn't mean that the merchandize was picked-over or damaged due to a large human traffic. I was just watching my dough. In other words, I still think positively on this location. Although this location is relatively small in comparison to the ones in the Loop and the Magnificent Miles, I felt that this place has better organizations and structures, in my opinion. It's also the best time to get snow boots, cold-weather accessories, and coats because store usually put them on sale after the holidays. I didn't see many coats, but I saw a big variety of women's boots and cold-weather accessories. Their men's department isn't massive. For better selections for men's merchandize, I would suggest the location by the Magnificent Miles, since hubby has scored two (2) pairs of shoes from that locations and he's a size 13! For the luxury-brand fashion jewelry, this location has many Alexis Bittar pieces, just in case you're a fan of this talented jewelry designer. Happy shopping, Young men and young ladies. OK. Aside from beina foodie, I'm a shopper who refuses to pay full price for anything. It's like leaving money on the table which HURTS. This is located near one of my favorite malls and it seriously is the best NR around. Good selection of merchandise that is usually very organized. Sales people are super friendly and very helpful. Parking is plentiful. Just be careful about where you walk because it's near a Petsmart and folks who bring their dogs there for some stupid reason CANNOT be bothered to pick up their dogs poop. read more

Sister Sister. You don't know how I missed ya! Nordstrom Rack is like the sibling of more mature Nordstroms who has all its hand-me-downs and rejects. This is awesome because its like an entire store space just of the clearance items and deals. Well mostly. A fair chunk of the stuff isn't actually from Nordies. I'm pretty sure Burt's Bees and Neutragena aren't sold at the department store but at supermarkets or TJ Maxx. I saw some hair clips and stuff that were pretty down market too. My first visit I walked the perimeter and when I got to the back I asked the associate if they had a cosmetics or fragrance section and he said he didn't know, then asked someone via a Britney headset if they had one. Then he replied no. I later found 1 in the shop. This is really bad. That means 2 associates didn't know their store's layout or merchandise. This is kinda like Target or Walmart where the staff is paid to pick up stuff off the floor & stuff it on shelves or hangers blindly like automatons. Never with a curiosity of what is in the store or they hold or to provide any customer service. Ok so they do have a lot of great stuff from the flagship department store way marked down. Classic, stylish pieces you can use for work, nights out, the gym, outer wear. And shoes. My secret dream is just to load up my truck full of their shoes. I also love fragrance and polish and that selection is pretty dismal. I'm kinda surprised both have certain shelf lives and expiration dates so I expect that proper stores have a big chunk to unload... Especially the holiday or Valentines Day collections unsold. The only fragrances that seem worth a care they basically always have is Burberry and Micheal Kors White. A while back, Michael Kors original scent was my signature fragrance for years I wore daily. Now I gravitate to more complex or edgy perfumes like Tom Ford's line or Jo Malone's or Elizabeth & James things. But if you like Michael Kors scoot you tuchis over and get the White for halfsies. I wasn't blown away with the purse collection and actually don't feel they are that marked down. I did get a hat. And can't wait to add more shoes and boots and flats to my shoe family. read more

Night and day... This Nordstrom Rack is completely different in feel from the other one in Northbrook. I am officially hooked! Based on my experience tonight, I will be coming back to this location time and time again. If you read my other review, you'll know that I felt completely overwhelmed in Northbrook. Nordstrom is known for their excellent customer service, and it's a department store with some serious cache. In Skokie I still felt like I was shopping at Nordstrom, and not a discount store. Everything was hung with sizes appropriately placed. I seriously didn't find one size in the wrong place...insane! The employees at this location are on it! I brought a rolling basket full of items to the fitting rooms to try on, and the fitting room attendant made sure that no one took my basket while I was trying things on. 15 items at a time, which is super generous IMO. Another thing that caught my eye during my shopping experience was a loud speaker announcement reminding shoppers that they are happy to help locate items and to just ask anyone in the store. I scored some Joe's jeans and tried on a ton of really cute shoes. I regret not loading up on flip flops...there were so many! Hubby scored some sandals and a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses that he's super happy with. Really terrific experience. I can't wait to go back :-) read more

This Nordstrom Rack is slightly new than its plaza counterparts, and it's located behind Panera off of Skokie Blvd and Golf. Taking place of the old Best Buy, this Rack is of a decent size. I was a little underwhelmed with the selection of clothing, as the designer wear seems a bit scarce. However, their shoe selection was a little more extensive - one note is that this Rack may carry the largest amount of Tory Burch shoes EVER! Whether you're looking for patent, leather, with pumps, etc., this Rack most likely has it in that brand. The SAs are a little MIA, so it's mostly rummaging through the selections on your own. I haven't been able to find aa many clothing items here. My favorite things to buy here are their body products (shampoo, conditioner, makeup remover) and flip flops (great deals on havaianas and rainbows). Prior to this visit, I'd only ever shopped at the one in Northbrook and the one on State Street in Chicago. I decided to pop in after shopping at Ulta, which is the next store down. Nordstrom Rack is great in the sense that you can get a pretty good bargain on some higher-quality/designer merchandise. Also, the store carries a wide variety of items outside clothing, including shoes, accessories, handbags and jewelry. However, you will have to allocate plenty of time to browse through their ample selection, unless you're targeting something specific. I always find myself spending at least a few hours selecting items to try on, trying them on, choosing what to buy and finally, purchasing them. On this past trip, I purchased two pairs of flats (a pair of Nike Air Cole Hann black leather ballet flats, originally $168 and on sale for $89.95 and a pair of cream colored Toms, originally $58.95 and on sale for $39.97) among other items. I absolutely love the flats and have worn them a lot. In terms of service, I didn't really see a lot of associates on the actual sales floor. I did see them in the fitting room and at the cash wrap. Though, I believe if you find one, you can purchase your items from the sales floor as opposed to having to wait in line. Also, in the shoe section, I liked how they had the mate for the shoe out, instead of having to go to a counter to pick it up like they do at their Northbrook location. Fitting room wise, there's a limit on the number of items you can try on and they give you a number that you have to bring back once you're done. Overall, not a bad location, but I don't see myself visiting this particular location frequently since I'm not in the Skokie area often. Also, I recently discovered Nordstrom Rack's online site, which I much prefer since it simplifies the browsing process. You do have to create an account, but I think it's well worth it not to have to deal with the hassle of actually browsing in store. Now, if only the site had an in-store pick up option available, that'd make it loads better. read more

I went to this location to return a pair of boots; looked around to see if I could exchange instead. As I approach the return line, I was told that by the sales associate that they don't do exchanges and that line was only for returns, which meant I needed to go to a different line, in order to purchase. That was the most ludicrous, inefficient and very inconvenient idea I have ever heard. Because of this, I will no longer purchase from HauteLook or Nordstrom rack; such a shame. They are supposed to make it an easier shopping experience (that's why it's called customer service), instead they make it a hassle to shop. What a waste of time... read more

I'm from Los Angeles and that means all we have in mega stores like this is badly merchandised product, extremely loud crying spoiled brats, and aliens working the registers (and I mean the outer space aliens, not the illegal ones). Much to my surprise, this place rocked it. Clean and orderly. It was really nice to see professional people working the aisles and registers. I had to refrain from buying the Casio G-Shock watches because they were priced at $50 each! That's less than half if you're not familiar with the brand. It was disappointing that there were clothes on the floor and the worst part was women were trying on shoes barefoot!! They had no socks on at all and no employees said a word. I don't remember her name but she claimed we were committing fraud just for returning something I don't like being accused of fraud just because I prefer to put the money on a credit card instead of a gift card we bought the damn items so we should be able to put it back on a credit card it's our money and we pay for our things! How dare you accuse us of fraud and speak to us with your rude tone. And when we said we will then return it to another Nordstrom instead she absolutely snapped at us and said she knows people working at old orchard across the street and would text them and tell them not to help us! SERIOUSLY?? How unprofessional and petty can you possibly be? And HOW DARE you threaten us like that! Never in my life have I received that treatment from an employee of Nordstrom. You're just a lovely human being aren't you :) That woman working returns deserves to lose her job she has a serious attitude problem and ZERO customer service skills and literally threatened us. Nordstrom took care of our issue no problem and this review is for this store in particular and this incredibly rude woman who treated us like absolute crap. I will never shop at this Nordstrom rack ever again and we will stick to the normal Nordstrom stores mainly as this woman spoke to us condescendingly and with zero regard to customer service or wanting to help us.
