Super cute and tucked in little shop in Norfolk! Because of the name of the establishment I was hoping to pick up a little latte and unfortunately was not, however I did find a new place to shop all different types of teas and coffees. Definitely check it out if you're in the area because the owners are just lovely and will answer any questions you may have!

    K-cups!!! They have seasonal flavors.

I've had this gem on my radar for a really looooong time Bc they supply the Aldo's blend to, you guessed it, Aldo's in Virginia Beach and I asked them where they get their amazing coffee. This is the spot! They have their own parking lot with spots and I easily parked and walked inside. No one else was here when I arrived on a weekday morning. The friendly owner greeted me and bagged up my Aldo's blend whole beans which they will grind for you if you ask. It's cheaper if you pay with cash and I also purchased two 16-serving k-cup boxes which he gave me a deal on since it was my first visit! He gave me their card, pointed me to follow them on Instagram and said they've been family owned and run for many many years and I can read about them on the website. They also have loads of loose leaf teas for sale, a whole wall of them, and an espresso machine where you can make a fresh cup and can grind your beans. The inside is small - with only the first portion dedicated to customer space while the magic is happening right in front of you in the back. It's a local spot with some seriously good stuff. Noms. I can't wait to try all my coffee goodies!!!

I'm set! Coffee beans and loose leaf teas

Y'all this place smells so good inside!! With all the different coffee beans roasting and the fresh brewed coffee, I mean this is the best smelling place bed. It's an old school spot very familiar with the locals. It's behind the Cook-Out and KFC off of Monticello. As many times I've been on Monticello who knew. They sell everything from fresh loose leaf, coffee beans, coffee tea accessories, to spices. The beans are sold by the pound and the tea by the ounce. Chris, the owner is the grandson of the original owner and there's a lot of history in the place. They have signed pictures of famous people who have stopped in or they'd tried the coffee. He's very friend and helpful as my first time in. But they have so many fresh coffee and I'm sure you will find one you will like. They have a website for more info and to keep you in the loop of what's happening. Go Check them out!!

I was donating items at the Hope House Foundation Thrift Store when I noticed this tea (and coffee) spot. What a pleasant surprise! You walk in and the aroma is a delight. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. I purchased 2 types of lose leaf tea. When you pay with cash, you get a cheaper rate and there is a $10 card minimum. *Also, there were home-baked cookies for sale, not sure if that is a normal item for sale.

Looking to buy loose leaf tea or coffee beans look no further. This family owned business has been open since 1918 and for a good reason, it's amazing! They roast all of their coffee in house in the same roaster they've had since they opened. This adds impeccable flavor! The service was fantastic as well, they have samples of their coffees and some baked goods so you can try before you buy. The team is very knowledgeable about coffee and tea, they were extremely helpful and friendly.

My double shot full of delicious crema!

I cant believe I havent purchased beans from here sooner. I like to pull my own espresso at home, so fresh beans are vital to a great espresso based drink! If ever wondered why your coffee never tastes as great as your local coffee shop, start with fresh roasted beans and grind them yourself. It is a world of difference. I used to buy Three Ships Coffee from wegmans and Prescription Roasters beans from coaster coffee. They were so overpriced and not nearly as fresh as buying directly from a roaster. Three ships coffee charged $21.00 for only 8oz of beans and they werent even fresh! Norfolk Coffee & Tea roasts in house and have a large selection to choose from! I recieved a huge bag for only $10.00. The owner created a special blend according to my preferences and added a little extra for me to enjoy. The beans had been roasted the day prior allowing for the beans to degass. I pulled them the next day and they were so good. I cant wait to come back and try more. Everyone in the shop was so helpful and fun. It was a treat in itself discussing the beans and meeting the lovely owner & employees!

I ordered from the summer menu and tried the Cinnamon Drift Latte (Housemade Horchata and Espresso) and it was sooo good. I only got a 16 oz and wished I got the 20! My daughter ordered a signature drink, the Botanist (Strawberry puree, milk, and matcha) with oatmilk and it was great. I want to go back and give that a try next. Lastly my husband ordered a cold brew with cold foam and enjoyed that as well. He also ordered the coffee cake and I wish I wasn't gluten free because it looked and smelled amazing. He enjoyed that while we sat outside for a bit. The service was quick, the staff was so friendly and patient, and the drinks were delish! We will definitely be back when we are in Norfolk!!

Another customer in line even asked us if we've been before and told us about the fun latte flavors. My mom and I ordered a cold brew each, and it was my mom's favorite cold brew she's ever had! It was good, but it was interesting because near the end of our cups, we tried each others' drinks just for the sake of things, and they tasted different - mine tasted less coffee, whereas my mom's drink had a was stronger coffee flavor. Maybe they were from different batches? Nevertheless, cold brews were great and I would order again. Like other coffee roasters in the area, if you buy a bag of beans, you get a complimentary cold brew, coffee, latte (?)! I was tempted to purchase a bag but they are so popular and only had 1 type of bean left that I don't prefer - heh, I warned that I'm a coffee snob. Would definitely go again/ask family to purchase beans for us out of towners.

It operates out of Toast on weekdays and Perro Blanco on weekends. I ended up circling the block for a while trying to find it because I had no idea where it was located. Apparently they mention this on Instagram, but since I don't have Instagram, I only figured it out after the fact. I can't help but wonder how many potential customers end up at Mea Culpa Coffee, which is right behind Toast and much easier to identify as a coffee shop. Once I went inside Toast and asked, the cashier explained that I was already in the right place. Mystery solved. I ordered the iced blueberry lemon zest matcha latte with coconut milk, and it was genuinely delicious. The blueberry and lemon complemented the matcha really well, making for a refreshing drink that wasn't overly sweet. My only hesitation is the price. At $9, it felt a bit steep for a drink that appeared to be about 16 ounces and was filled almost entirely with ice. While I enjoyed it and would order it again, I'd have a hard time justifying the price on a regular basis. Overall, the quality of the drink was excellent, but I think Kobros could make the experience even better by making their location more obvious outside of Instagram and offering a little more value for the price.

Every Wednesday through this Summer Klassic Doughnuts food stand will be available at COVA 8-11 AM. They are in my opinion the best cake doughnuts in our area. They are a major draw for COVA. I purchased a few to go. With COVA I specifically wanted to try their coffee. I was blown away upon arrival to see their outdoor space. It's huge and beautiful. On a weekday at 11 AM without school even out was busy! The counter service was helpful and friendly. I told the staff I wanted a black coffee and was directed to what beans were being offered. I opted for an Ethiopian pour over. The coffee comes in a large and priced competitive. It took a bit with being busy and a pour over, but boy was the wait worth it. Probably the best coffee I've had in any recent memory and I drink a lot of coffee. The space inside is compact, but they offer a side patio that's covered too! COVA is late to offering coffee, maybe 5 years or so. However, they are established with brewing award winning beer. I chatted with a female brewer a minute who was so sweet and invited me back for a glass. They also have a bakery case with offerings that looked good. So I need to return. So exciting to share such a gem in East Beach. Parking may be an issue, but off street neighborhood streets are available.
