Everything bagel w/ extra cream cheese & iced vanilla latte
    Blair R.

Such a cute coffee shop! The service was great! Everyone was so friendly and happy to be there. I ordered the iced vanilla latte and an everything bagel with extra cream cheese, and both were delicious! I'll definitely be back. Plus, I noticed they have $10 espresso martinis... definitely coming back for those too!

The food, service and ambiance was amazing! So glad I found this hidden gem. I got the vanilla iced latte and an everything bagel with cream cheese. So good!! I've been here a few times and always get something new and everything has always been great. The seating area is cute and relaxing. It's a must-go!

During the last two visits, I've discovered my new favorite go-to breakfast in here. It's called The BELT. It is served on their waffle-like bun with bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato and their special sauce. It is terrific. I wish the bacon was not the microwave thin stuff but the vegetables make it crunchy and juicy. I also wish the business would consider creating a similar item using their delicious sausage. It could be called The LETS. (smile)

Coffee is so good! I appreciate how their syrups are homemade. The vanilla iced latte was delicious. We got a wrap and a bagel; the bagel was just a store bought bagel you could get anywhere. The wrap was yummy and very fresh ingredients. The cafe is huge and has a cute beachy vibe, so it is a nice spot to meet up with friends or do some work. The staff is so nice!

I literally stumbled upon this coffee shop in Oceanview. The staff was kind and helpful. I tried the Moroccan spiced coffee with oat milk. It was quite flavorful. I also had the avocado toast. It had pickled red onions, everything seasoning, and tomatoes. It was good. They have several seating options: tables, couches, and half booths.

Sometimes the best finds are the ones you just stumble upon! After a workout, I stopped by Mudita in Ocean View, mostly because I was craving a smoothie and didn't feel like making one myself. The place is huge! Way more space than I expected, and has a really chill vibe. I went with the Monkey Bottom Smoothie, which has banana, almond milk, peanut butter, and chocolate. Added protein powder because, you know, post-gym logic. It was creamy, not too sweet, and actually tasted like real ingredients instead of some weird artificial blend. For $7, it felt like a good deal, especially since smoothie prices everywhere else are creeping into "is this rent?" territory. The staff was super friendly, welcoming and happy to be there. That's honestly reason enough to come back. I could see myself making this a regular stop, whether for another smoothie or to just hang out. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

DELICIOUS coffee!! Tucked away in a side street shopping strip across from the beach, Mudita coffee house crafted one of the best lattes I've had in the area. I will say, however, I was not a fan of their Mudi-Cuban. It was decent, but did not hit the spot as a Cuban should. The service was friendly and the seating area of the cafe was very cute and cozy. I will be returning in the near future to try another menu item and definitely another coffee!

Started my birthday out here as I heard a lot about it and it's right up the street from my house. Kaylee(hope I spelled your name right.) she was very nice. I order a strong cup of coffee and avocado toast. Plugged up my laptop and chilled. The vibe is very easygoing which I loved. This may be my new Saturday morning spot just so I can get out of the house and change the scenery a bit.

Love this cute spot! They do online orders, were communicative about waiting until I arrived to add the finishing touches to keep my drink warm, and are open to all people. They have lots of lattes, including all kinds of dairy & non-dairy options to our inside. Definitely a good spot for a coffee & pastry or just a coffee on the go.

We visited Mudita cafe earlier this week. The staff were kind and we were able to place our order within a few minutes of entering the cafe. Despite the busyness that morning, they served us our drinks & food quickly. The bombon coffee was excellent. I also enjoyed the breakfast sandwich. The matcha had a flavor that was strong and earthy, though I personally would have liked a bit more sweetness since it was a latte. The cafe was very lively that day, but still had a very peaceful atmosphere. Overall, I had a very enjoyable experience.

    Candle class set up

Yelp asked what went well. Everything went well greeted as soon as I entered. The place is very cute. I went for a candle making class. The cafe was all set up for the event. The ticket for the event included a drink so I got a espresso martini suck my thing I love espresso martinis the owner who happened to be there made my espresso martini and she did a great job visually it was beautiful and as good as it looked better. I also had her make a tiramisu espresso martini for our instructor because she informed me that it's her favorite hers looks so beautiful that I ended up ordering myself was just as good if not better than the first one . They have a menu. It's a small menu for some food like snacks and sandwiches. I would definitely come back again to enjoy coffee and a pastry. Or even a cocktail. I really hope that they do more classes in the future because I definitely would come back . FYI, if you decide to go, please know there is on Street parking and there's also a shopping center directly across the street. Even better than downtown parking is free. Thank you so much for hosting such a great event I look forward to more in the future.

I'm always on the lookout for cute coffee shops, and had bookmarked Mudita. Hadn't been to Ocean View in a minute, and leaving the airport was the perfect opportunity to drive through the area from East Ocean View to West Ocean View, all of which is definitely in the process of change. Mudita is located in the first two blocks of First View St. in West Ocean View. Mudita shares the block with a relatively new location of De Rican Chef and a yoga studio. Across the street is a strip mall that's been there forever, with a Harris Teeter where there was once a Farm Fresh, a dollar store, and several fast food places. Not upscale by any means, but evolving. I say all this to say that I expected a much different vibe. The area is diverse and a little gritty and I've always felt comfortable in OV. Many decades ago there was a small amusement park that we were taken to as kids. Over the years, I've passed through the area as a commuter and walked on various OV & Willoughby beaches, all of which makes my experience at Mudita stand out, but not in a good way. They have outdoor seating in the front, which I thought was cool. There were about 6 people outside who had already been served. Inside was spacious and didn't appear to be busy at all. There was one woman seated at the bar. I approached to view the specials board and stand near the register to wait to be acknowledged. I then moved to another area of the bar, hoping to get the attention of the solo barista, who was engaged in conversation with the customer. The customer *moved her bag closer to herself* as I approached. I've been on this earth for a minute, but quite honestly, am still shocked at overt displays of racist behavior. Because what about me screams I want what's in your bag? Or that I have even significantly registered your presence? As this point in life, as a middle aged woman, I found the customer's behavior especially ludicrous. Because if I look like someone who is going to grab your stuff and run, you must be somewhere in the range of not a good judge of character/your surroundings or an absolute fool. I ignored it, and spoke with the barista. The Eastern Asia Spotlight that was on display was intriguing, and of course I asked about the specials. I love Yuja, Thai iced tea, and Vietnamese coffee, but had never heard of a Vietnamese Egg Coffee. I got it to go, and it was quite delicious. I loved the definition of Mudita on the wall, a Sanskrit word describing one of the four boundless states in Buddhism - delighting in the happiness of others without envy. I saw no evidence of South Asian ownership of the place, nor did I feel particularly welcomed as a brown person, or just a human being, which was odd, given the deep spiritual meaning of the concept of Mudita. Service and vibe were meh. In retrospect, I wish I had also ordered the Oliang/Thai black coffee, as I doubt I'll return. I wonder how long this place will be in business. Like I said, I've always felt at home in Ocean View (despite being taunted and laughed by two separate local denizens in trucks when, tired from travel, I drove over a curb in the parking lot across the street) so I'll always come through the area and check out whatever comes next. I'll bump up from a 2 to a 3, based on the quality of the Vietnamese Egg Coffee. It was really well done.

The play on a French 75 and a miller.

The ambiance is fabulous and I love when they have live music and the booths for people to sell their wares. Drinks are tasty and they have different specials weekly (I have not tried the food. There seems to be few gluten free options/my vegan friend tried the humus and said it is very good!) Service is friendly. I gave fewer stars because it's pricey especially compared to other local coffee shops.

The coffee is ok. Food, not so much. I ordered waffle and it was cold and looked like leftover. Expensive for something not freshly made.

It's incredibly spacious with high ceilings, tons of natural light, and lots of beautiful details everywhere you look. The front patio is perfect for people watching or just enjoying some fresh air, with lots of space between tables (no awkward eavesdropping here). Inside, the vibe is super chill. There were quite a few people working on laptops, but it didn't feel stuffy or too quiet ... just a comfortable, low-key buzz that makes you want to stay a while. I started off with an iced americano topped with strawberry cold foam. The foam itself was a little thicker than I expected (it was more "whipped cream" than "cold foam"), but honestly, it was delicious. I'd totally order it again. The flavor combination is chef's kiss. A little sweet, a little tangy, and it adds something fun to a classic drink. For food, I went all in on the Box Car Sandwich. If you love grilled cheese, you HAVE to try this. Oozy pepperjack and cheddar, crispy bacon, tomato, avocado, all sandwiched between slices of perfect sourdough. And the special sauce on the side? I could have eaten it with a spoon. I have no idea what's in it, but I want a bottle to take home. I can't wait to come back here and give their espresso martini a try, and their pepperoni swirl pastry looked 10/10.

First of all can I just say WOW!…read more We were excited at the first because we thought the Neat Bird from Chesapeake had a new location in Norfolk Colley Avenue but there chicken sandwich was even delicious here too with a different owner! We met the owner, he is a cool band guy with a mustache name Dand. The drinks he made for us were so good and so was the way he talked with his staff and the way they worked together. My parner and I had seen that they pride themselfes on Scottish eggs, which we were lucky to try and it was also very delicious! We like that they have the vibe and also a board with many events of the community on the wall to check out while you sip on a delicious expresso martini. Good job to the Bird! now dont go opening another restaurant in Chesapeake or we will all be very confused!

You order at the register, and the staff brings the food out to your table. Everyone was attentive, and we had no issues with the service. We ordered the waffle plate, which came topped with fruit alongside eggs and their house sausage. We also tried the Huevos Rancheros, the Sausage Egg & Cheese sandwich, and a build-your-own omelette. For drinks, we ordered the brown sugar cold brew, dulce de leche cold brew, drip coffee, and an espresso martini. The waffle was huge, and the sides were great. My only complaint was that it could have used more fruit, as there were only a few small pieces. The Huevos Rancheros were delicious and came with a generous serving of avocado. The only thing that caught us off guard was the lack of salsa, since in traditional Huevos Rancheros the salsa is a key component. Even so, the dish was still flavorful and filling. The omelette was excellent, and the breakfast sandwich was equally delicious. I was especially impressed by the house-made jam, house-made hot sauce, and the perfectly seasoned home fries. As for the drinks, the brown sugar cold brew was excellent, but the dulce de leche version was far too sweet for my taste. From what I understood, they use two flavored syrups to make it, and I think using smaller portions of each would create a better balance. We ended up adding oat milk and some drip coffee to tone it down. The drip coffee itself was solid and came with free refills. The espresso martini really tied brunch together for me -- strong, well-made, and delicious. Overall, we really enjoyed both the food and the experience, and we'll definitely be back.
