Delicious latte of the week, it had white chocolate and cinnamon, called Ladder Crew....it wasn't too sweet or lacked flavor, it was on point and just what I needed. I know, I know, do better yelper lol. I was in a rush so I didn't get any pics other than of the latte of the week. They have plenty of seating for either a place to work (free WiFi) or catch up with some friends. This coffee shop is so cool and it kind of pulls on the heartstrings when I look at all the patriotic memorabilia on the walls and around the shop. Pale Horse Coffee is owned by retired military who I thanked for there service. Inside, the line moved pretty consistently with averages of 10-12 people waiting to order and pick up their beverages. For food, they only had some fresh made egg burritos pre-wrapped and in a warming display and a few fresh baked muffins. Their coffee selection and flavors to add are pretty tremendous and if you love coffee, you'll love this place because their service is so warm and friendly, just like their beverages. They offer free wifi which makes this place a great hang out for humans and their furry friends. On the morning that I stopped in there were 3 of the most beautiful and well behaved golden retrievers waiting patiently for their dog bone treat while their people waited for their drinks. Many other people were having business meetings and working remote. There is outside seating as well as plenty of seating inside and just as many electric outlets to keep the technology charged while the body charges from their delicious coffee. As I was out running errands on a Sunday morning around 10am, I decided to stop by Pale Horse Coffee. Since there weren't any street parking, I parked in the free, parking garage nearby, which was very convenient. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and encouraged to take my time looking over the menu. Everything sounded great but I decided on an iced Rip Cord which was a toffee & cinnamon latte. I requested almond milk and it wasn't a problem at all. My coffee was made in no time and tasted amazing! The toffee and cinnamon paired wonderfully together! I absolutely love this coffee spot! The staff were super friendly and it has quite a large seating area for those that want to sit and enjoy their coffee, there's a few outside tables as well. I really wanted to like Pale Horse Coffee, but their coffee was mediocre and their vibe is so cold. They have an industrial look going on, and it isn't cozy. I wouldn't really meet someone there again, as it was loud and uncomfortable. The service was fine, but they seemed rushed. I only very recently checked out Pale Horse coffee but I've since been back 3 times this week! I'm happy to support this veteran-owned business and get my coffee fix at the same time. This location is in Summit Pointe off Volvo Parkway and is on the strip between Wasserhund brewing and Luce Secondo. They have a couple of tables outside for al fresco coffee enjoyment, and they have been occupied each of my visits so I usually grab a nearby bench to enjoy my latte. The interior is spacious and welcoming to both small and large groups. They also offer retail items and bulk coffee for purchase. Their menu offers the standard espresso orders, both dark and medium roast drip coffee and a number of specialty lattes. I have tried both the Warthog and Osprey and really enjoyed both, but the Warthog is a favorite so far. I appreciate that they also offer decaf espresso and have a variety of milk options. They have weekly specials for those who love to try something new. On each visit, service has been wonderful. The staff has been welcoming and kind and answered any questions I've had. I've also never waited more than 2-3 minutes for my orders, even on a busy Saturday. I really enjoy my trips to Pale Horse and have found a new favorite coffee shop. The vibe is very pro-military considering it was founded by a group of veterans who put country first, coffee second. The coffee is fantastic and I also like that they donate to organizations, such as the Navy SEAL Foundation, and support active duty military members, veterans, first responders and their families. Today was my lucky day since they have the Slick (Something Something) latte which has shortbread, maple syrup and chocolate! It was delicious. For the latte, straight up beyond 5 stars. Just indicative of their creative concoctions. I also got their cinnamon bun to go, which was okay when heated up 30 seconds in the microwave and then you pour the sugary sauce/topping. I usually drink my coffee black or get a double espresso with milk, but sometimes I like to treat myself. I also appreciate that if I wanted just a splash of almond milk in my espresso, it wouldn't cost me a kidney like at Starbucks. $0.35 for a splash, $0.75 for my latte - as expected, consistent in all coffee shops. Pale Horse (PH) has expanded and they just opened their second location at Summit Pointe in Chesapeake. My husband and I had just had brunch at the new First Watch just across the way and wanted a drink for the road, so it was the perfect opportunity to check out both new spots in the same outing. This Pale Horse location is a bit smaller in size than the first one and also a bit of a different vibe, but I like it! They've utilized the space well. The merch and order counter is to the right, and the space to the left is dedicated to seating and is super spacious. Behind the service counter is a mural painted with "Pale Horse" and the seating area has framed flags of the different branches of the military adorning the walls (FYI, this is a Veteran-owned biz). They have bright red chairs (my fave color) and gives off a brighter, more modern vibe. They seem to be dog-friendly because at the time of our visit, there seemed to be a meet up of Golden Retrievers. My husband and BIL are fans of PH's coffee, but when my SIL first introduced me to PH, I had their Iced Chai and I've never looked back. I don't know what their secret formula is, but it's one of my fave chais in CoVA (so far). They have a coffee of the week, so look out for those. The service was friendly too! I had been to the other location and really enjoy their coffee, and this place has tons of seating, good music and great coffee! Stopped by as part of the 2023 Coastal Coffee Trail and so glad the Trail brought me to this coffee shop. It's conveniently located just off Volvo between Battlefield and Greenbrier so you can make it a part of your outing from several different areas. I just finished another activity and wanted a drink. It's in a new-ish development with apartments up top and shops below. There's easy short-term street parking so I've never had a problem finding a spot. Inside has plenty of seating and some local merch on sale as well as their begged coffee. It's all whole bean but the baristas are very friendly and willing to grind if you need. I've been recently introduced to London Fog tea latte and it was feeling like that kind of morning. They brew fresh and so it takes a few minutes more than other drinks but we'll worth the wait. Great smoothness, slight sweetness, and hint of earthiness make this a wonderful spot for this type of tea. I've been back a few times now and I will definitely swing by when I'm the area. read more

I came here on a Monday afternoon for a quick pick me up. It was a holiday and yet they weren't too busy so this made me happy. The young lady behind the counter was super friendly when greeting me. I told her I wanted something along the lines of an almond joy and her eyes lit up. She told me she made one just earlier today and the customer loved it. Probably one of the better lattes I've had from a locally-owned shop in Chesapeake. Unfortunately, they were out of all of their baked goods, so I was unable to give them a try.
