My wife and I built new construction on New Jersey's Long Beach Island. We had an Architect design a new contemporary home with an open concept floorplan combining the kitchen, dining and living area. This design meant that the kitchen had to be the focal point of the home and had to flow with the rest of the living space. I searched online for modern kitchen design ideas using modern cabinet style. After an extensive search for cabinet designs, materials, and colors, we found Showplace Wired Cobalt and decided that was the look, color and functionality we wanted. After looking at examples from Showplace we found on their website, we saw an example of what we wanted to emulate which led us to the designer Diane Fleming at Norfolk Kitchen & Bath in Manchester New Hampshire. I contacted Diane and told her of our project in New Jersey (which was 354 miles away )and I sent her our architectural plans hoping that Diane would take on the presumably impossible task of designing our kitchen directly from the architect's drawings, our appliance measurements and zoom conferences with us. Much to our delight she accepted the challenge and she designed and rendered our kitchen on computer and did everything without once checking out the construction site! It was perfect! She made a trip down to New Jersey when the cabinets were delivered and spent two days with our installers making sure everything fit, every piece ordered was delivered and instructing the installers exactly where and how every piece fit together. She made another trip to New Jersey to make sure all was perfect and ready for staging and pictures. She was amazing! The kitchen is the centerpiece of the home, everyone who sees it is amazed at its construction, utility, and accessibility to everything a home cook needs. Diane designed it as if a chef were to be using the kitchen and that is exactly what we wanted. I cannot recommend Diane and Norfolk Kitchen and Bath more highly. Picking out the cabinets and the ordering process was great and pretty easy. When the order came in upon opening the boxes almost every single cabinet had a problem. We had doors with chips, cracks and split wood on the sides of cabinets, visible joints, parts of the sides of the cabinets missing paint, we had this black ink like substance (even though it was in small areas) on virtually every single cabinet, some even had red paint streaks (on our gray cabinets) and never received any of the bead board to enclose our island we purchased. I immediate took pictures and emailed our sales person who brought her manager and came to assess the products. We were told to use a magic eraser to remove the black stuff from the cabinets, which actually did work but why should I have to clean a product I just spent over $10,000 on and haven't even used yet? They said that the chips and cracks on the sides of the cabinets wouldn't be visible because those cabinets would have other cabinets on the sides of them. I'm sorry, did I not buy new cabinets? We saved for 6 years to remodel this kitchen (major remodel down to the studs) and am I being unreasonable to think we would get a solid product? They offered a few apologies and ordered a few replacement doors and the bead board. After that day I had 0 communication with neither our rep or the manager. I emailed 3 weeks later to check on the status of the rest of the stuff as our project is almost done and our contractor is waiting to finish up and was told it was in and then we set up delivery. Which arrived 1.5 hours late. The replacement cabinet doors that came in were missing some of the rubber bumpers and were dirty where the adhesive was. The other bumpers were half way off the cabinet so we had to go to Home Depot to get matching ones for the unit. I emailed the rep and her reply was to use soap and water to clean the adhesive and that she would mail me out bumpers. I would never do business with them again. Full price cabinets for damaged goods. I could've/should've ordered from Ikea and built them myself. At least the chips and cracks would be from my doing and I would've saved $4k. read more

Rich (think he is from their Nashua office) did a nice job with the installation, he even called out a flaw on one of our cabinet door panels, which the company satisfactorily addressed with no issues and/or charge. read more

We were shopping around for kitchen designers and tried NK&B and got soured right away. We were looking at a cabinet door sample and were approached by Louise who, without knowing us, deterred us from that door, indicating it was too expensive for us. Um, what? How did she know what we could and could not afford? We continued to talk with her, letting this go as a social flaw, rather than a professional one and the experience got worse. Louise did a home visit for measurements and looked down her nose at our abode. She then designed for us a kitchen that was pretty much what we already have, despite our being clear that we wanted something new...and she came in $15,000 over budget. We had given her a substantial budget and she said that unless we went with, looking down her nose, the contractor grade cabinets, she couldn't produce for us. That's right, Louise. You could not produce for us, but another designer could and they met the budget with mid-high cabinets, a whole new layout, and a positive attitude. read more

My review is only for design, as I had someone else do the install (I would've gone with their installer, but my contractor was able to get me a lower price). Louise Robie rocked! I've designed bathrooms before - never a kitchen - and Louise was tremendous help. I was able to go in and pretty much have everything picked out within the hour. I later had to send her the appliance measurements, and eventually signed off on the paperwork. I ended up going with one color cabinet on the bottom and a different color on the top. I was able to get all of the fun things - tip out sponge tray, can shelving, storage for cookie sheets and cutting boards. I absolutely love how everything came out. Order time was typical for something that was special order and was expected. When they came to deliver the product, they arranged it in my garage in a way the installer would easily know what went where. They also left an envelope that contained the layout, so I didn't even have to be there to tell him which cabinets went where! I had a lot of trim pieces left over (which I was able to use elsewhere for another cabinet). I am just over the top in love with my kitchen. Thank you Louise (and Greg!) for such a wonderful experience! I would definitely recommend Norfolk Kitchen and Bath to family and friends! read more

We used the Manchester store and were very happy with the service provided by the designer that we worked with. Much more personalized service and attention to detail than HD or Lowes would offer. They have just as many cabinet options to choose from and the extra help is well worth buying something a little more expensive (in some cases). Our designer met with us several times and was very patient and helpful every time we tweaked our design and changed our mind on something. She was fantastic in pointing out where the layout would be more functional, as well as pointing out the pros and cons of choosing certain cabinets/doors/left or right open/sliding shelves Vs. drawers etc... SO thankful to have the help and the kitchen turned out beautiful! What they don't seem to offer is a true 'designer' who will really help you match colors and styles. We got some generic opinions once we picked out our own backsplash, hardware, paint color, and flooring, but they dont get too engaged with this part of the process if you are doing a complete renovation, which was fine, but it would have been nice nonetheless. read more
